The pool is free to use and open from 1:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays). When you arrive, staff will check your bags and ask if it's your first time--just part of their safety and welcome process. The pool area includes shallow zones for kids, lap lanes, and a grassy space for lounging. Be sure to bring a towel or chair for seating. There are lockers available, but they don't lock, so it's best to bring only what you need. A few helpful tips: 1) 10-15 minute safety breaks happen every hour, so be prepared for short pauses in swimming. 2) No food is allowed inside the fenced pool area, but there's space just outside to picnic or snack. However, when I was there, I spotted a food truck (ice cream!) near the street (perfect on a hot day!). 3) There's also a playground and tennis courts nearby. 4) Restrooms and changing areas available onsite. It was a refreshing spot for a dip on Saturday!

He failed and was told he could not continue. The tests were done in a punishing way and under threat of failing. He has passed the brick test at three other locations with plenty of time. The instructor did not have any empathy or customer service. Pool does not have any natural light and is colder than normal. There was mildew on all the caulk around the pool. Stay away from this instructor and location.

I love that they don't charge you joiners fee and you can buy your membership several different ways. You can pay for a day pass, punchcard (certain amount of times), or by the months increments (1,3,6,12). A day pass I think is only $5. They also have free nights for anyone who lives in Brooklyn center on Saturday evenings. You are able to use both the pool and the fitness room it's from 5pm to 7pm. I originally bought a 10 inch pass. I liked it so much. I'm planning to now getting a year membership. It's a lot less crowded than other gyms . At least in the evenings. I've never been there other times of the day. I haven't had chance to do the group fitness yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm also planning to sign up for some swim lessons this year. I would love to learn this would be for summer.

Overall, the facility was large and clean from the small portion of it I saw. It seemed like everyone on the weight floors had plenty of personal space. We were in the cycle studio downstairs, and it was beautiful and clean with probably about 50-100 bikes. Before I review the class, I'll put my fitness level here: I workout 6 days a week, 4 of those days are strength training/lifting paired with cardio or walking. I take one Orangetheory class a week, and normally add in a pilates/full body day. I'd say I'm in great shape, but am not very coordinated. Today's workout replaced my normal pilates. The AMP Cycle class was a great time, and it definitely has to do with the amazing instructor, MaryBeth. You could tell that the 9:30am Saturday class was full of regulars by the way she greeted and chatted with everyone. My friends introduced me and she was eager to help if I needed anything. My friends helped me adjust my bike and get me into position since I had never taken a spin class before. The class itself was the perfect level of endurance cardio challenge for me! I was able to take little to no breaks and keep up pretty well. Since I'm very uncoordinated and not great with rhythm, some of the moves on the bike were hard but easy to modify so I didn't go flying off the bike (I did have a couple of close calls lol). The music choice was a super fun mix of pop, hip hop, and EDM - all super upbeat and awesome to workout to. There were fun lights as well, which kept me motivated and having fun. Again, what took the class to the next level was MaryBeth. She's a fun motivator and easy to follow - one thing I appreciated is she never made references to pushing harder to look better - she always made it very self-fulfilling and about your heart and mind, without getting too soul-cycle-y. She even said an amazing heartfelt thank you at the end, which you could tell she meant - especially in a room full of regulars. On my way out, I also stopped at the Lifetime Cafe for a protein shake. I ordered the body builder (protein & creatine) with vanilla powder, strawberry & banana. It was a great little smoothie, but the protein was a little chalky. It also felt a little overpriced being $10 - but I got the vibe that Lifetime is a little more upscale so I understood the price. Overall, I would definitely come back for one of these spin classes or try another class if my friend has a guest pass! I personally do not need a full Lifetime membership at this stage in my life, but it's definitely something I would consider in the future.

OFFERINGS: They offer private training (3 free sessions when you sign up), group fitness classes, swim workout classes, massage and more here. They even have a childcare area! ATMOSPHERE: I loved the vibe here! Peaceful music playing, not crowded at all (I did go at 4pm so probably best the evening rush), extremely nice updated bathrooms (with all-gender option), and well cared for equipment and amenities. PRICE: I joined in January for $0 joiner fee and $66/month for the year - competitive with other gyms in the area with similar amenities, and your money goes to a non-profit with a great cause! They have a pool that is always open for lap swimming, hot tub and sauna. They have lots of cardio equipment and free weights. They also have olympic lifting gear including bumper plates. The trainers are top notch. I have taken Olympic weight lifting and boot camp at this location and have always had a blast. The inner courtyard makes for a great area to do incline or decline sprints or body weight workouts. This is my go to gym when I am in Minneapolis. The best part is they are a non profit and put all the money you pay into community development with an emphasis on empowering women and girls. What is not to love!
