The expenses for contact lenses, disinfecting solution, moistening drops, and annual eye exams kept adding up year after year. It was time I get LASIK while I'm still young because it maximizes years of contacts-free living and saves money over time. I did extensive research on LASIK providers and chose Dr. Feinerman for four reasons: 1) He did successful ICL surgery for my wife and she's had 20/20 vision ever since 2) He takes care of you from A to Z: He personally does all consultations, eye surgeries, and follow-up visits 3) He has over 20 years of experience and was a Chair of Ophthalmology at Hoag 4) He has many known celebrity/influencer clients (one of them Kobe, RIP). At my consultation, his assistants did diagnostic tests on my eyes to determine my candidacy. Dr. Feinerman said I qualified for Wavelight Plus LASIK (as opposed to traditional). The difference is that Wavelight Plus has higher rates of achieving 20/20 vision or better, and improved night vision. Not everyone can qualify for this so I chose this one. On the day of my surgery, it was done at his vision center and took less than an hour. I chose classical music to play in the background. My eyes were disinfected and numbed with solution. I laid on the operating table as Dr. Feinerman did the procedure and talked with me every step of the way. It didn't hurt at all and I was surprised it was quick ~15 mins. The moment it was done, I could see clearly as if I was wearing contact lenses. I was given a home care kit to take home and follow the schedule of eye drops to ensure my eyes recover. The next day I came in for a follow-up, did some vision tests, and Dr. Feinerman said I now have 20/20 vision. That was less than 24 hours from surgery so I can only hope for even better than 20/20 soon. For those those of you who are tired of wearing glasses and contacts, I highly suggest you invest in yourself and get LASIK. If you qualify, stop by Dr. Feinerman's office and I promise you won't regret it. I'm glad I did!

When this eye doctor office told me that because I have an astigmatism in my left eye that the best they can do is lasik to one eye (mono vision) which will require me to continue wearing a contact lens in one eye or continue to wear glasses, that's totally bogus crap sounding to me. I can't be the only person on this earth nor who came into this doctor office with an astigmatism. If lasik cannot correct my vision to 20/20 in both eyes then I don't want it done in neither eye. I also don't want to end up with dry eyes from lasik. It's all just one real big joke!

I decided to Google him and found that he has a really good online reputation and knows how to do his job well. As someone who wanted to join the Secret Service, one of the mandated requirements to join is getting eye surgery. But due to the suicide of Ryan Kingerski because of LASIK complications, I was really scared to get it. I wanted to get second opinions from Dr. Feinerman. So I went here back in May, and found that I have thick corneas which meant that I'm eligible for LASIK or PRK.

I called them right away and had an appointment at 8:30 the next morning. Right off the start I was impressed with how friendly and courteous they were. It took about 2 hours to do all the testing and at every point I was treated like I was very special, which I am . They started showing me my options, I was like wow that's incredible. I chose Mono vision and did the procedure the same day. During the surgery Dr Manger and his staff talked to me throughout the whole process and made me feel so comfortable. It's not easy when people are in your eyes , but it was painless and very quick. I had to be out of there by 1:30pm for another doctors appointment in Lakewood and was able to drive without a problem. All I can say is wow. After…read morechecking out a few other places, I settled on Saddleback eye Center due to Dr. Manger's stellar reputation in the area. I could not be happier about my decision. The process was easy and everything was explained in detail, and it's small enough that you get individual attention. Dr. Manger was very professional and although the surgery was nerve wracking ( no one likes tools coming towards your eye) I made it through with no pain, and relatively little inconvenience. I could tell my vision was improved the second I sat up from the operating table, and a quick 3 hr Valium nap later it was pretty clear! Today I went back for my post op appointment to get my contacts out and a checkup, and 4 days after surgery I CAN SEE 20/15!!! Amazing. Well, my experience at Eyesite was exactly the opposite of all my previous experiences at doctors offices! Dr David Rosenblum immediately greeted me when I arrived, and I liked him from the get-go. He was warm and friendly, and it wasn't more than 2-3 minutes before they were already taking images and checking my eyes! Yes - it was that quick! Dr. Rosenblum stood with the technician who was doing the preliminary imaging, and he was explaining each step as we went along. It made the experience feel less like an exam, and more of an interactive experience. Dr Rosenblum showed me each image of my eyes and explained what they look for and what he saw in my pictures. We immediately moved into the next examination room where he ran through another series of vision tests. After about 5-10 minutes of various tests, Dr Rosenblum put a set of test frames on me, and I literally couldn't believe my eyes! I thought my vision was pretty good, but now I realize just how off my eyes have become. My eyes feel so much better now that I'm not straining to focus, and I have Dr Rosenblum and the Eyesite staff for that. They also have a great selection of frames, from Ray Ban, Chanel, IC! Berlin, to an aweosme local brand, which I loved, called Salt. They certainly had something for everyone's style and budget. I ended up buying some awesome IC! Berlin and Salt frames for my 2 new pairs of glasses, and I couldn't be happier with my first visit to an eye doctor in over 10 years! They make a visit to the DMV feel like you're speaking to the concierges at the Four Seasons. Dr. David Rosenblum is a great guy and I really do hate to leave a review that will hurt his business but something has to be done about this. I know his hands are tied since the business was sold to a hedge fund that controls all the hiring but hopefully that hedge fund sees this and does something because I will never purchase glasses from here again. If you're just in need of meeting with the doctor, Dr. David Rosenblum is a great doctor but just buy your glasses elsewear because the rest of the employees are a complete disaster. I will say the new lady they are training seems pretty nice and caring but maybe she just doesn't know what she's gotten herself into yet. It took me over a month to get my glasses. The wrong color glasses were shipped to the store and no one seemed the least bit concerned or surprised. They actually seemed irritated at me for pointing it out since they didn't bother to confirm themselves before having me come to the store. Absolutely no apology at anytime. In fact, not only did they never even say sorry, they didn't even say thank you as I left, I had to say thank you two times before I even got a "uh huh" out of them as I walked out the door. Fast forward to several weeks later and my $1,400 Dita Mach 6's were ready for pickup. I guess it was the manager I dealt with this time (this was yesterday), she was giving me that same vibe like she flunked out of DMV customer service training. I asked to see the paper with my prescription to confirm everything was correct. Apparently the receipt with their costs was attached and she didn't want me to see it so she snatched it out of my hand like I was a shoplifter. Then she tried to shoo me out the store before I even had a chance to try the glasses on or have the crooked nose bridge straightened out. All in all a miserable experience. It's never a good sign when you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they don't make a commission off of sales. They clearly couldn't care less if they ever sold another pair. I went to this store because I recently moved to Newport Coast and found it just 3 minutes away from my house. I figured any optometrist in Newport Coast couldn't be too bad but I was wrong. I didn't know they are a chain and really don't cater to the Newport clientele. They also cheap out on the lenses. Don't be fooled by the Zeiss mirrors in the store. You'll be getting cheap Shamir lenses. I used my secondary insurance plan to buy another pair of glasses at Eyexame down the street and I had the complete opposite experience. Definitely go there instead. I haven't bothered to look into seeing if it's possible to return these glasses yet but if it is I would much rather go to Eyexam again.

UCI Medical eye institute in Irvine (love the free parking thank you!) gives a tremendously thorough exam, and Dr Garg spotted the real vision issue that Dr Sedri of Newport Beach Eye Institute completely missed. They both were provided with the exact same classic symptoms: "really blurry in the morning improves after 1 to 2 hours." UCI intake asked every detail of my health and two Doctors reviewed all my symptoms - refreshing! All the staff at UCI were so energetic and you can tell they love their jobs and their patients. So grateful God orchestrated a second opinion - I was not planning to get another opinion just happened organically from a conversation at a church dinner with my friend a retired emergency room Dr who is also getting cataract surgery. I HIGHLY recommend seeing UCI Dr Sumit "Sam" Garg. He saved me from the wrong surgery, wrong lens, and horrible. unnecessary expense. UCI is one of the few places in Orange County that is not a cataract money grab mill. If only every doctor would take such care for the well being of their patients. Also UCI is quite a bit less expensive than the 4 quotes i got from other Ophthalmologist, about 1/3rd less m, for multi focal lens or EOD lens. Turns out i am not a good candidate for multi focal due to a genetic, progressive eye disease, cornea epithelial dystrophy aka Fuch's Dystrophy. See attached photo of tge back of the cornea lining. Also my cataracts are mild to moderate, NOT one grade less the severe! Quite a different story at UCI!!! They are soooo amazing. Dr Garg of UCI took great care and time to explain his plan to improve my vision. Maybe cataract surgery down the road, and due to my condition, definitely not multi focal lens which would exacerbate its weakness of night time lights halo effect. Everyone talks up cataract surgery as it is the most common surgery performed. However, it is still surgery and the outcome affects your most precious eyesight! Go to the best. I wish all the Ophthalmologists in Orange would be as conscientious as Dr Garg ( and the other you woman Dr at UCI who also examined my eyes.) I'd give them 10 stars if I could.
