I have used Crystal Clear Pools on a few different occasions. I have an older hot tub and inground pool, both that needed service. Jim from Crystal Clear Pools came in a timely manner, diagnosed the issues and repaired the problems. He was very polite, professional, and provided excellent customer service. He was honest his guidance on options for repair in my situation. I had another company come to service prior to Crystal Clear Pools and was told that the problems were unrepairable and I should replace the hot tub. Jim fixed the issues within the cost of the quote that he provided upon diagnosis. My hot tub has been running fine since. I highly recommend his company for service of your hot tubs and pools. read more

Zero out of 10 would NOT recommend. I did not realize this was the company I hired last year! I'm kicking myself for it. Bill was $150 over the last discussion for services. Have no idea what I paid for what. No itemized bill. Several requests for one and I hear crickets. I asked that the pool be treated I was told how to do it myself. read more

If you are driving by this place, keep driving to another pool store. I purchased a pool here and customer service was great before the check was cut and that is where it ended. They outsource their pool installs to another company. First issues were the permit, which was a breakdown of communication as I brought all the paperwork, which CC had a copy of, to the town and CC had the wrong insurance form for the installers. They handled it and got a verbal OK from the town to start digging and I received a phone call from the town stating the paperwork was all set. The town ended up not having the permit application from either of us and started digging without a permit where a stop order ended up being on the property. This caused days of delays and a $100 fee that I paid remove the stop work order. Following this, the installer communicated with me from here on out. Once the pool was installed, Jim was going to come over and go over everything, talk about preventative maintence etc. My husband noticed we didn't have a salt chlorinator. I spoke to Jim and he said he would be over to install it this week and he couldn't belive the installer left this off my heated, salt water pool. The owner ended up calling me and stating I never paid for it and my options were to pay an additional $3000 or drain it to make it a chlorine pool. Although I did have a couple of diffeent options of pools quoted in the beginning (which arrogantly Pete stated, well we quoted a larger pool and an above ground also, but we didn't install that) , the one thing that never changed was I wanted salt water and heat. I am new to purchasing a pool and I did not knoweverytbjng that needed to be on the quote. Crystal Clear left it off the quote that I provided to them in which I paid the invoice off of and were unwilling to work with me on this. Even if they apologized for their mistake, but CC needer to at least charge me for the cost of the pump, I would have been understanding. The owner, Pete, was very condescending in email and on the phone and throuout anything that went wrong CC was never accountable, it was always someone else's fault. The fact that both of them stayed they could not believe Ron, the installer, didn't install the salt chlorinator, means they knew it was supposed to be a salt water pool. Mistakes happen, like the lack of quiting this system, but it is how you handle it for repeat business. There is a reason If you speak to the town and any electrician after you put your deposit down they state good luck to you when they hear you bought a pool here. Cannon pools is coming over to make this right for me at a fraction of the cost. My suggestion is to work with businesses willing to work with you after they make the sale as Crystal Clear will not. read more

I am a newcomer to Crystal Clear Pools and Spas having just recently purchased a hot tub from them. Before I made the purchase, I visited three local pool and spa stores to do a little comparative shopping. My first impression of Crystal Clear P & S was they did not have the corporate feel of the other two places I had visited that day. They were owned by two brothers who struck me as real and down to earth people. They offered me a far better deal than any other offer I had gotten that day. Being a natural born pessimist, of course I was concerned about how well they would be of service to me in maintaining my tub. The tub delivery and removal of my old tub was was on time, efficient, and friendly. They looked like they knew what they were doing! Before all the troubles with my old tub, I had been a daily hot tub user for anxiety management.. Being without was clearly wearing thin. So after a month or two without a hot tub, I was psyched that I would soon be back in business. The electric company had come and wired up the tub. Now all I needed was for temperatures to rise above freezing for a 3 or 4 day stretch so I could fill the tub and let it warm up before the next freeze. That day finally arrived, Unfortunately, before I even was able to use the tub I ran into a problem. One of the circuit breakers to the tub tripped immediately when I switched it on. I was freaking out with all kinds of imagined scenarios of frozen tub plumbing or having to drain and winterize the tub while the electrical problem was addressed I was encouraged, however, when the electrical company agreed to come back the next day after I called them to diagnose the problem. Fear and frustration set in again soon though as their follow up visit and investigation of the problem revealed no electrical problem related to their work Their analysis was that the problem was with the hot tub itself. They surmised that the hot tub circuit board, pump, or lighting circuitry was the problem. Oh no, would Crystal Clear P & S help!? And quickly before the weather went cold again? Would it be additional weeks while a new circuit board or pump was ordered and installed? My concern about how well my hot tub would be serviced was about to be tested. It was 8:15 in the morning when the electric company left. And Crystal was closed that day. However, they had given me a cell phone number for Jim, one of the brothers. I hate calling someone's cell phone number that early in the day, but out of desperation I did anyhow. If Jim was a late sleeper he would have turned his phone off, right? Wow, he answered the phone and was at my house by 12:45 that same day. It took him about five minutes to discover that the two bare ends of the hot and neutral wires from the 30A breaker were touching each other where they were screwed into the hot tub panel. He turned the tub on and my heart took off. In five minutes, he had solved a problem that a local, reputable electric company had missed. Twice they missed it. I have a new hero and his name is Jim Rushford. He and his brother Pete at Crystal Clear Pools and Spas are there to help. read more

We are new hot tub owners. Purchased a Wellis tub within last year. Had a problem with certain features not working correctly. Called and spoke with owner-one issue was resolved after multiple phone calls, and someone finally coming out to fix that issue. Other problem lead to owner calling manufacturer to order part-seemed responsive but wouldn't hear back so had to keep following up with them. In the end, they said company manufacturing hot tub was bought out by another company, and they couldn't get a response from new company. They are no longer selling hot tubs from that company due to poor response from manufacturer-this occurred five months after our purchase. Have waited for follow up from company on how they would correct the problem, but nothing has changed-unresponsive. So we have a new hot tub with issues and a company that doesn't stand behind product. read more

To say that I am not happy with this business would be an understatement. The two owners Pete and Jim Rushford were very rude and unprofessional to communicate with. Our pool was green and full of algae when Jim opened it. When my wife raised a question regarding the issue she was told we improperly put our chemicals in. He offered no solutions for this. Just excuses and putting the blame on my wife. He never asked if he could help to resolve our issue. Poor Customer service! read more
