My and my niece went to New Orleans, last minute on buddy passes. As soon as we landed we sat at this little empty bar, the female bartender was a friendly native. We were hungry, since they only served salty snacks on the plane, she served us and I asked if the food was any good she replied "yes it is"
I was suspicious, we ordered her favorites, while waiting for the food, my niece asked if the portion were airport size? No, they're actually pretty good, I'm still thinking O.K.
When the food came, we were surprised, good food and fair portions. Airport eateries can be less than desirable and sinfully priced, not this time.
The place was a welcomed contrast to most of my other U.S. airport dining experiences.
The only thing that troubled us, the bartender let us know it was French Quarter Fest.
she explained since we didn't have a room we would have to drive back to the airport or at least a half hour drive from the quarter to find a room. She was right, after a great late night we drove back to the area around 4:00 am.
It was all worth it : ))) read more
