Steak night and happy hour?! Sign me up. In all my time around Kenner, I had no idea this place was here. After hearing about it from family, I took a drive over to try it. I happened to come on steak night (Thursday) which offers a filet or ribeye for 15 bucks with loaded mash. I subbed for fries. The ribeye was a great size and was cooked just as asked. My hubs got a burger which he liked as well. Drinks are very reasonable and happy hour are an additional two bucks off which was great. Overall, I think it's a good spot especially when you want to watch sports or bring family. Very reasonable priced menu and lovely patio seating when it's not hot. read more

I had one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time at this restaurant. Our order was wrong when it came out. When we politely pointed it out, the staff showed absolutely no concern or willingness to fix it. Instead of apologizing, they acted like it wasnt their fault and had a very unapologetic attitude. The food itself was unacceptable. The burgers that were served were raw in the middle--clearly undercooked to the point that they shouldn't have been served. When we mentioned this, the response was basically a shrug with no real effort to correct the problem. Between the rude service, wrong order, and raw food, this place completely missed the mark. A restaurant should at the very least care about food safety and basic customer service, and this place failed on both counts. I would not recommend eating here. read more

Rivershack was very good. The food was very well prepared. We had various dishes. I had the catfish platter. Very crispy fried catfish. The french fries were great. We had to sit at the bar. Not a problem. The bartender was very good . We watched her make various drinks . An education. The serlion poboy I was told was delicious. One of us had a great salad. We will be back . Hopefully we will be able to get a table. They two big groups . Tables were taken. We could have an outside table but it was too cold. This place offers horrible service. Waitress/ bartender who also claims to be manager on the evening of 3/15/26 was very unprofessional when we explained that we've been coming here regularly and have always enjoyed the food. However, this was the first time I've ever had soggy fries and a raw smashed burger. Instead of being apologetic, she dismissed what was said and told us that we were being rude. Then, when we asked to speak to a manager she claimed to be the manager and accused me of eating the whole undercooked smashed burger which was not the case. We enjoy going out to eat and want to support restaurants in our community, but we've never felt more disrespected and will not ever be coming back. It's really sad because we had such high hopes for this place, but with service like this, I'm sure Rivershack will be losing plenty of business if they haven't already. read more

This is a neat little place right by the river that has plenty of indoor and outside seating plus a bar. It has a sports bar vibe but is plenty casual with an open parking lot across the street. I had a smokehouse burger that was loaded with bacon and two smashed patties. It was huge and very well seasoned. The fries are skinny like McDonald's but very crispy. They also offer poboys and wraps, and next time I want to try that gator sausage. Service was quick even though it was busy, too. I would definitely go back. read more

We came in with a large group of about 20, including kids, and overall had a very good experience. Our server, Sierra (sp?), was outstanding. We had lots of seat shuffling, special requests, and a steady stream of orders, and she handled everything with patience, a great attitude, and a constant smile. She truly made managing a big group feel effortless. The food was really good, and the atmosphere is generally very kid-friendly, which we appreciated. One important note for families: there's a side gate that opens directly to Williams blvd, and management WOULD NOT allow it to be closed, despite there being a large open entrance just around the corner that customers were using anyway. With kids moving around, this created some real stress about safety. That said, we'd absolutely return, especially knowing Sierra was taking care of us! read more

I came in because I was in the area and hungry but not like hungry hungry, I had a few other things I needed to do and did not want to get hangry. I got two appetizers, the fried pickles and the debris fries. Service was great, employees were friendly and everything was clean. The food was hot and amazing. Great spot to catch a game and have a cold af beer. The environment is top notch and begging for busy nights. This place is slept on, though lunch time bar isn't the move for a good cocktail. I'm not sure if it was her first bartending shift but the younger lady with curtly hair talked so much she forgot ingredients & I didn't get silverware till like 5 mins after my food got there. read more

Their smashburgers and not typical smashburgers. They use small frozen kid patties and pass it off as a smashburger. The burger was gross. Staff was nice. Decent bar. I guess they are more of a bar than a restaurant. read more

Wednesday night, 3/19/25. Wife had a smash burger and I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. We split the mushrooms. That said, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries were excellent! I like slightly larger fries, but they were fried well, a little crispy and very tasty. The sandwich had excellent taste though I would have liked a bit more sautéed onions. The smash burger was good. I tried a bite and it simply is not for me. I like the large, thick burgers, not burgers smashed down where the juice is all drained out and it only can be cooked medium to medium well. I just did not care for the taste. The mushrooms were excellent. Clean oil, good taste, no complaints, definitely recommend. The atmosphere was ok. We preferred sitting inside but it is obvious that on a nice comfortable day, sitting outside, taking your time, enjoying a few drinks, definitely the way to go. Check the place out, I truly think you will enjoy it. read more

While I know they're related "in name only", this location was a bit of a letdown compared to the original. Comparing River Rd's 20ish beers on tap to this one's 6 wasn't a hot start. The bartender was... abrasive - but I warmed up to her and she wound up being excellent. For an appetizer I tried Kennerbruh Queso and it was easily the highlight. Why haven't more restaurants thought of Patton's hot sausage as a queso meat? Loved it. In contrast to the other location's thick burgers this one served smash burgers; I was intrigued. I got a simple cheeseburger, and it was still pink in the middle - I see nothing wrong with pink burgers, but when you think smash burgers, you think of the crust on them; the crust was absent here. Overall, the burger was nothing bad but nothing special. Accompanying the burger were some shoestring fries and they were quite good. As far as atmosphere, again, I can't help but compare/contrast to the other location. The other is a dark, dive bar: embracing old school rock and roll. This one has a modern look, well lit, and open air: embracing a sports bar aesthetic. While I see nothing wrong with this, it isn't what I was expecting. For once, let's start with Cons and then hit the Pros. Cons: very below average tap selection, burger could use some work, bar staff could be a bit more approachable. Pros: innovative menu options as exemplified by the Kennerbruh Queso and breaking away from thick burgers, clean interior, plenty of TV's to catch the game at, and only a month old establishment to boot! I agree with the other 3 star review: this place could use some work under the hood. The good news? The ceiling is a mile high here, and Rivershack Kenner will prove it's made of glass when they shatter it. read more

It was so cold we couldn't eat there. Our friends were in the back with their 3 young children and they told them they couldn't sit at picnic benches, the waiters and waitress was very rude to these people, the hostess also . As we were leaving they were all on the front porch talking about the customers. Very unprofessional, will not be back! First, this is a great location for adults and families. The restaurant itself was really nice and clean (it should be, it's brand new). There are plenty of outdoor places to sit, including a fenced area with lots of games for kids. There is a nice big bar that has an indoor sitting area and opens on the fenced area as well. There doesn't appear to be a bad table in the joint. Service was slow but pleasant. However, the food...sucked. All Sysco garbage prepared with little care. $11 for a hamburger with a patty slightly larger than McDonald's standard. Fries that tasted like the beignets they fry in the same oil. Fried catfish and shrimp with little to no flavor. The veggies were fresh, and the fried pickles were pretty good, but the meals were so disappointing I can't see us going back. read more

We went here as a family with our 10 year old ans chose to sit on the porch as weather was gorgeous. We started with some onion rings and drinks. The adult beverage was not watered down and served in a chilled glass. My husband smash burger was made with fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. My son's wimpy burger as well. I did the shrimp platter. The shrimp were detained, battered and crisp but not chewy. We couldn't have asked for a better late lunch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Customer service is always top tier. Place is clean. It is cold inside which is nice since it's so hot outside! Have eaten burgers and onion rings here. All delish. However, their steak for Thursday's special is not good. Nor are the potatoes. The steak lacks seasoning, is very fatty, and overall just not good. They leave the skins on the potatoes, but they seemed gritty as though they weren't washed well. It had a very odd texture. They also lacked flavor. Was there for lunch, so maybe they were reheated and not freshly made. I will return and just stick with the burgers! read more

Friendly but very slow bar service. Food was better than average bar food but took 40 minutes for drinks to arrive- we were almost finished with food. Not the waitresses fault, the bar was very understaffed. It was too loud inside and too hot outside. On a nice autumn evening with more bar staff I think it would be a much better experience . Building is recently restored and they did a beautiful job. Nice and clean and our server was very pleasant. I hardly ever order a burger when I eat out because I don't like a thick patty and I can't eat a burger unless it's completely well done. The "wimpy burger" was absolutely perfect! My daughter ordered the same and we both enjoyed our lunch a lot. read more

Food is just ok. Service needs a lot of work. Our waitress was pleasant, but hardly present. Whoever is expediting the food in the kitchen was screwing up big time. A wrap came out to our table instead of a burger. Then two waitresses were walking all over looking for the owner of the burger. When we said it was ours, it was just plopped onto the table. And this was also happening to other tables. Loud atmosphere. Oblivious parents were letting their kids run all over in this chaos. Limited menu with vague descriptions. It's new but the place is not fully organized and wait staff not fully knowledgeable of menu or prices. Food is typical and nothing on the menu would make me leave Gendusas or Ground Pati which have much better menus. They spent a lot of money remodeling an old building that has too many tables outside and not enough inside. This is south Louisiana and outside tables don't work 8 months out of the year. Excellent service. Excellent food. Actually our party of 4 got the $15 ribeye steak special with french fries on a Thursday night and one of the steaks was a bit tough. Thinking that maybe cooking it a little more would make it tender, we asked the waitress to have it grilled a bit more. Instead, the staff replaced it and the new steak which was tender and delicious. A great deal for a steak! We ate outside on the deck overlooking a play yard for kids which was very convenient and fenced in so families can eat and kids who are finished eating can play.
