We were here semi-late and it was pretty much dead. There are pool tables and darts and basic beer. This is a definite "neighborhood" type place, in that I can't really see anyone making this place a destination for the evening, unless they lived 5 minutes away. It's Westbank, so of course smoking is allowed and the place is small so it gets pretty musty. The bartender was nice and it wasn't a bad place to end the evening.

I have wondered about this bar since I was a kid. The name conjures up images of a sleazy strip…read moreclub or a dark place filled with lewd behavior. Well, I am here to tell you, it isn't any of those things. The Naughty Knight is a bar for drinkers. It is open 24 hours, so regardless of when you need a beer, they'll be open. I ended up here after a yelp event. I was super excited to try it after always wondering what it was like. After all that anticipation, it didn't live up to the hype in my mind. Inside there is a bar, pool tables and a internet connected jukebox. The jukebox was great as I was able to listen and dance to Frank Sinatra, and then rap to BG. Imagine how impressed my friends were. Beer was very cheap and plentiful. They do sell frozen pizzas for $5, but I do not recommend you try one. It looked like the frozen pizzas at the dollar store and the bartender confirmed that is what they were. I came back a second time, but didn't stay. the vibe seemed different. I am sure I will end up here again though, as WB bars are good spots to close out a night. If you're looking for a place to drink at all hours of the day or night, give the Naughty Knight a try.

A lot of good dive bars tend to have a limited selection of spirits, but this place definitely isn't one of them. It's a great mixed crowd, and the regulars are regulars for a reason. The Mardi Gras Lounge is the hotel bar located inside the Holiday Inn Downtown. This bar just got…read morerenovated this month and is now looking stellar. I just quit working at a hotel this summer but I have worked in the hotel industry for the past 14 yrs. I have yet to go to or work at a hotel where the hotel bar is "the neighborhood bar" or even a top choice for a meeting place with friends. Hotel bars, in general, are much more subdued than other bars. This bar is now a beautiful bar that is visually appealing. It also has very nice lounge chairs and tables. But, as is the case with all other hotel bars, there is no jukebox. Or pool table or dart boards. Nor is it open 24/7 like some bars around here. So the fun factor at this bar is somewhat low. Drinks are pricey here because it is a hotel and hotels overcharge for everything. I ordered a few beers and they charge $4.75/bottle for Michelob Ultra. Expect likewise overpricing for cocktails. I would recommend this bar if you want a nice trendy bar to hang out at. If you want to be rowdy and crazy with your friends this may not be the right place for you. Of course every bar gets rowdy and crazy when the Saints are playing and this bar is no exception. My friend Scott bartends here and he said during Saints games the bar is packed and loud. Otherwise you can hear the crickets.
