I couldn't tell you why, but I associated a hype with this place and expected phenomenal out-of-this-world cookies. They were good, don't get me wrong, but my hopes of something extraordinary "Crumbl"ed. (I couldn't resist - there will be no further puns in this review). I ordered a Chocolate Chip and a Tres Leches. Together they were around $10. While their size is hefty, ~$5 per each seems excessive. There might be a justification if it were in downtown Boston. Hanover? Alas, I must call these overpriced. In terms of the cookies themselves: the Chocolate Chip was A-OK. The outside had a thin crust, and the inside was velvety and gooey. I am divided on if I should say it was almost too soft. While it wasn't raw, part of me was hoping it would be a touch more solid. An extra minute or two in the oven. The Tres Leches cookie was the opposite. It had the same consistency from top to bottom, between bready and cakey. The dough had a pleasant sweetness but was slightly dry for my taste. It was also notably plain. A little cup of sauce was provided, but it was not enough to elevate this cookie out of the hole. If this place was next door, I might be open to giving a return visit and trying some of their other offerings, which apparently change every week. However, this experience has shown me Crumbl is not worth the 20-something-minute drive. To avoid dashing your cookie dreams, if you are craving a unique and phenomenal cookie, Levain on Newbury in Boston might hit that spot. read more

What happened to this place? First of all, you have to order off of a screen. No one greets you to give you any kind of direction whatsoever. They asked me if I was all set. I said I'd like to order a cookie. They said you have to do it on the screen. Ok.... when they used to have people that took your order, it seems it was a lot better. Very busy, reasonably fast line, friendly staff, terrible cookies, and over-priced, terrible cookies. We tried four types, and between a family of four couldn't finish a single one. Not sure what it was overly sugary, flaky texture, density? No real balance between sweet and savory, just sweet, and lack of moisture. My kids make better cookies. I mean that in the absolute most literal way. 6-pack for ~$30 will make it tough to establish regulars. I know it doesn't read like it, and would love to see this spot be successful. I like that they were served warm, over-sized, soft & chewy - but all of this can easily be duplicated by any other bakery or even at home. Oh boy, where do I start? I understand it was opening week when we visited, but it was also 9 am on a weekday and there was *only* a line of 10 people deep, so we stopped in. From the minute we walked in, you could see the store was "unorganized open air chaos." Lots of staff members,, but everyone seemed to be moving at a snails pace and one thing we noticed immediately was that no one was assigned to trash/cleaning up duty. We saw multiple trash barrels in the open pouring over with trash. The floor was covered with chocolate and other cookie remnants. All we could think of was that'll be a rodent's heaven in a couple weeks. Ugh. Bought a dozen (high way robbery with the pricing, but I get it, you're paying for the name and the bougie boxes). Tried every type they had. The chocolate chip were all raw. Thought it was just because they were fresh from oven, but still raw at the end of the day. Gross. The Reeces and sugar cookie I will say were delicious. But, that's where the positive feedback ends. We noticed the owner was present and working along with the staff, but felt she should have had a stronger presence at the front end. I hope this business survives after the excitement wears off, I really do. Just not too hopeful after our experience. Also, the fact that the local business does not respond to these reviews is unfortunate. They should have more of a presence to their customers and the feedback provided. Best of luck! read more

Cookies are OK, $6 for a cookie, na I do not think so. Staff is not great, when they try and shake you down for a 20% tip at the end, you are ready ignored when they see no tip. Cookies are very dry, and good but not great. Very dirty inside the store behind the counter, now I know that is a production area, however customers make judgements on the product being delivered. Reduce the cost of the cookie, put my cookie in a bag and skip the "presentation box" the quality of the cookie does not change with a fancy box. Visited store in Hanover as a first time customer.  My visit turned very negative/ugly when I requested to make a simple change to the assortment order I placed for 12 cookies.  The employee admonished me by saying that I could not change my order. What? Why? She said it was store policy not to change the order once it was placed.   I said  "May I respectfully suggest that you change that store policy. As a customer I should decide what cookies I want to buy and can change my mind.  After all, I did not handle the cookies and the person traying the cookies did not have to go through much of an effort to make me happy. That's when another employee asked me if I wanted an application to work there. I assume, since she thought I was telling them how to run the business. Rude comments from two employees brought me to the point that I asked to speak with the manager who contradicted the employees assertion that customers could not change an order. The employee got angry and belligerent and said "I'm outa here" and grabbed her car keys and stormed out of the store. This entire incident left me feeling bad, sad and mad. read more

Yes, its expensive. But one cookie equals two at least! They are huge, dense and delish. Verrry sweet, almost too sweet for me but the flavors and textures were so good it helped balance that off some. And the sweet tooth in my family had no complaints about the sugar. To the person who complained about the crumbs on the floor...its an open kitchen bakery that is BUSTLING. Of course there are crumbs on the floor of the kitchen! Be the first customer in the morning or if there is ever (?) a slow time and if there are still crumbs and clouds of flour flying, well then theres a reason for concern but I highly doubt thats the case.
