We have rented twice from this location and both times, the service was fabulous! The website for Cruise America is so informative that you don't even have to look at the vehicle before committing yourself to a week or a weekend of RV camping. We've rented both the medium and the large RV. The large RV does provide a separate bedroom that can be closed off either via a curtain or a door. Renting an RV can give you the best of both worlds: camping in the woods or an RV park and 'air conditioning' during the hot spring/ ahem/ summer months! There's plenty of storage space and sleeping space. It can get very bumpy on the highways of No. Virginia so be prepared. I dinged one star because on this last rental, the vehicle was not as clean as expected.

Unit in Kansas

We rented a 30 foot motorhome for 9 days and drove it 2500 miles roundtrip from Virginia to Kansas.  We used the Manassas location and received great service and a great RV.  Due to covid, we decided it would be safer to rent an RV than to fly.  While in the planning phase we went to the Manassas location to look at the units and ask questions.  The manager could not have been nicer or more helpful. We ended up looking in one of the older units. It was spotless and obviously well maintained.  It was at that point we decided we could do this.  The day we picked up the unit the rental agent showed us how everything worked.  He was very thorough and we felt we had a solid understanding of how everything worked.  They also clean the entire inside of the unit with medical grade disinfectant.  The unit was spotless and everything worked perfectly.  We opted to prepay for propane and the tank dumping.  They are both a bargain. The RV is easy to drive and has plenty of power.  It maintains highway speed even in the mountains of West Virginia. However, I felt more comfortable driving about 5 to 7 miles per hour under the speed limit. When we arrived at the campground the first night you simply pull out the power cable and plug into the nearby receptacle.  It could not have been easier. Once plugged in everything works including the microwave, air conditioner, and the fridge automatically converts from propane to electricity.  Our unit had a huge bed in the back and another huge bed over the driver's seat. Both were comfortable as was the sofa bed. We did not have to use the dinette as a bed since there were only 3 of us. The bathroom has a chemical toilet.  You will need to buy an additive that breaks down the waste.  You can get it at Wal Mart.  The toilet does not emit an odor and was easy to use.  On our 9 day trip we did not have to buy propane, add fresh water or dump the tanks. We did not shower in the unit although it has a spacious shower separate from the bathroom. There is a 3 burner stove that is efficient and easy to sue and generous storage space in the unit and in the rear that can be accessed from the outside.  Returning the unit took less than 5 minutes.    Upon return, they do a quick walk around, note the mileage, print your receipt and you are on your way. They are fast, efficient, and courteous.  We rented the unit after Labor Day and received an amazing daily and mileage rate. It was far less expensive when compared to airfare, hotel, car rental and it was a lot more fun. We will be back. We highly recommend the Cruise America Manassas location.

Trying to start from the beginning... We rented a 25ft RV from 8/11 to 8/21/2017. We had to go to 8/21 since CA isn't open on Sundays for returns. We had previously rented a similar RV from another company in Alaska, so we weren't exactly rookies. Overall, the RV was acceptable...nothing that would ruin our vacay. We picked it up on Friday afternoon, then loaded it up with our own linens and kitchen gear (and saved a few bucks) on Friday evening so we could pull out Saturday morning. Mani was very informative and reasonable at pickup. We noted all scratches and damages, slightly stained seats, mileage, generator hours, fluid levels, etc. I never felt like he was anything less than honest. We were given a bag with one black tank drop-in, one roll of RV toilet paper, an extra smoke detector battery, some matches, paperwork and instructions, and sent on our way. It helped that we had already watched the videos and weren't first time Class B renters. The mattress was showing signs of cracking, but with my own cushy mattress pad and linens, it wasn't an issue. Once on the road, we discovered the RV needed a good alignment and balancing. Our top speed was 65mph, anything faster and the RV felt like it was going to fall apart. Oh well. Hello truck lanes. There are no leveling devices provided, so we had also tossed in a couple of 1x8 boards for such purposes since experience told us that propane refrigerators get cranky when not level. Setting up camp the first night consisted of leveling as best we could, and discovering that the velcro privacy curtain needed new velcro. A little finesse and determination and we got it to work. Everything else worked fine...generator, hot water heater, stove, microwave, water pump, and lights. You will have to purchase additional black tank treatments and RV toilet paper if you plan on using/dumping the toilet. We found stuff at a truck stop, but Walmart probably has the same cheaper. We spent a week camping and driving around WV and VA and overall were pretty happy with the RV. One thing we did was to switch the dinette cushions. Everyone sits on the outside and they were seriously compressed. We switched and flipped the cushions so the good side was on the outside. Ah, much better. We prepaid for the propane so we wouldn't have to bother with refilling. Gas tank return only has to match the level when you picked up. 1/4 tank out, 1/4 tank returned. Upon returning the RV, we notified Mani of all issues and he wrote each one down for the mechanics to address. Also turns out we didn't even ding the propane levels since we had shoreline hookup most of the time, so Mani refunded us the propane fee. Nice! Some basic tips for first time renters: 1. If you are local, bring your own linens and kitchen stuffs and save $$. 2. Leveling is important. Our fridge was bulletproof, but it's nice not to roll downhill when sleeping. There are apps that assist with leveling. Bring your own boards/devices. 3. Buy disposable rubber/latex gloves to wear when emptying the gray/black tanks. Yuck. 4. If you are a newbie, watch the videos. They really are helpful on how things operate and driving tips. 5. Watch your RPMs to get the best gas mileage. Truck lanes are your friends. 6. KNOW YOUR HEIGHT AND WIDTH. We had to detour once due to a width restriction related to bridge construction. It's important. 7. Bring a rug. It's useful for not tracking dirt into/around the RV. 8. Put a 10lb bag of ice in the freezer. If by chance the fridge sh*ts the bed, the ice will save your food in the short term. 9. Bring a first aid kit. You may never need it, but then again you might. 10. Shower shoes. 11. Return the RV with black/gray tanks empty to avoid fees. Just dump at the last opportunity and then use public restrooms until return. 12. Use the tow/haul feature always. Engine brakes are your friend. 13. When backing up, have your co-pilot jump out and give guidance. Because hitting something would suck. 14. Bring a universal screwdriver. We had to remove, then replace, a panel to retrieve a lost spatula. shhhh... I'll update if I think of anything more.

It was ready but found it leaked in master bedroom the first night, it was so bad we had to put a tarp over the bed as to not get wet at night when it rained. The camper was dirty and needed a good cleaning, the shower door wouldn't stay shut. When we called he said he would have a repairman come to campground. Then told us the camper had the Ac completely dislodged with the previous renter. He could of told us before we left but didn't. We never got a repair man to come. I asked for $1500.00 off, told him he should have been honest so we could have pick one of the other units. He argued with me and we only got $500 off. I would never rent from him again and caution anyone who is thinking of renting from him.

After driving for several hours, you will experience shortness of breath and headaches. The owner, Jae, is irresponsible. The unit has been moved to his back yard of his house and kept in the grass apparently to save him money. "THE UNIT WAS STUCK IN THE MUD IN HIS BACK YARD AND HAD TO BE TOWED OUT" The screen door (and the work which controls the sensor to the automatic stairs) was broken. Jae suggested using a screw driver to pry it open when entering or exiting. The shower door was also broken, leaving you no way to keep it shut while taking a shower. The unit is filled with cheap equipment and the work is shoddy. Do yourself a favor and pass this company up. Find a quality outfit.

"Amazing work ethic and communications in the RV service industry."…read more In the DC metro, good RV services are hard to come by...but Ace is a rare find! They respond to texts within minutes, call you back promptly, do a great job of letting you know what to expect with scheduling and costs. Ace kept us informed of potential delays (e.g., parts) and the reason. Spontaneously sent videos and photos of the work in progress and completed. In the end, completed our job weeks faster than expected AND at a lower price than expected. Our camper looks great and everything checks out repair-wise. I'm not going anywhere else in the DC metro for RV work. I strongly recommend Ace's work AND their work ethic!

We're pop-up novices, and the whole team took a couple hours out of their day to walk us through everything. We felt appreciated the entire time we were there! We had some wear and tear service work done, and the work was completed expertly and quickly - I was really impressed. I'll definitely be talking to the team at Ace again in the future!
