I honestly don't know whose fault it is here because each party points to the other, 1. Old Republic: They need to ensure that they have a wider range of HVAC companies on their roster (at least for the summer months) so they can guarantee same or next day service. For something like hot water, HVAC etc. the statement that "we cannot guarantee time of service" is not acceptable. 2. Montgomery HVAC: If you are not able to service customers (especially in TX) the same day - why even bother taking requests from Old Republic or other warranty companies? It's not like summer is a rarity in TX, so if you cannot staff to projected demand then just stay out of this business. I heard from the owner of this company who indicated that warranty companies just inundate them with requests but that's not the customer's fault. I also still believe that because they cannot charge an arm-n-a-leg for these warranty requests, they try to prioritize "private" requests before any warranty requests. On those they can make a lot more $$$. This was borne out by the fact that I called a couple other HVAC companies privately and they were capable of coming out the same day (of course for $$$).

Nothing showed available for today. I called I told them my situation; the gentlemen told me he would try but they were all booked up for the day. And of course I understand that this is one of the busy time with the Texas heat. I just have to say that I am Sooo Grateful for the two wonderful, sweet men that came to my house, worked late just to help get my AC up and running. Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Sharjeel was extremely detailed, professional, courteous, and thorough. He took the time to make sure the drain line was completely cleared and that everything was functioning and draining correctly before finishing the job. I especially appreciated that he went above and beyond rather than simply completing the minimum required service. It is refreshing to work with a technician who takes pride in his work and genuinely wants to make sure the customer is taken care of. I highly recommend Sam's Heating & Air Conditioning, and I would definitely request Sharjeel Khan for any future HVAC service. Excellent service from beginning to end!

They did say we could 'try to get on the list' if we called Saturday morning. Otherwise we could make an appointment for 5/21. I called to talk to Tiffany (owner) this morning and was told she was not in today. I asked to have her call me as soon as possible. I was then told she did not work there anymore. I asked if she or the family sold it. I was given a runaround but was eventually put on hold and then the phone call was dropped. Among the providers, I was referred to On the Spot by a colleague. Unlike other companies, Cody neither pushed for a sale, nor did he try to push a particular product like most other companies. He first asked the right questions, listened to my concerns, and focused on what I needed. He provided various options, including the pros/cons of using different brands, sizes, and power usage. Cody was very professional and straight-forward from the quote all the way to the implementation and clean-up. He didn't surprise me with any hidden fees or switch-and-bait. I also took note of the many positive Google reviews from local customers. He communicated the expectations and process very clearly before he and his team arrived on a Saturday morning. Cody and his team arrived promptly and everyone was compliant in wearing masks and appropriate PPE. The team work was exceptional, efficient, and minimal damage (which they corrected - a little scratch to my drywall). The entire process including clean up, checking proper air flows, and learning how to set up and operate the new thermostat, took about 5 hours max. I love my new Google Nest thermostat!! I have used it to program remotely and no longer have to get up out of bed or interrupt my work flow to change the thermostat. Stay away from this company. They tricked me into replacing the ac circuit board even though the…read moreissue was with the contactor. Here's my story. My AC stopped working and my google nest thermostat gave me an e103 error code. When I looked up the code, online research mentioned that the Contactor had to be replaced to get the ac compressor fan working. So I called this company to get it fixed. Aaron and Patrick showed up and after some investigation told me that my AC circuit board was fried and had to be replaced. I insisted we start with replacing the contactor but Patrick said that the Contactor is fine and that the circuit board has to be replaced. I agreed what they mentioned and let them change the circuit board. They came a week later and Aaron replaced the board. Then I noticed Patrick going outside to work on the compressor fan, but I didn't think much of it. After he returned and turned on the AC, it started working. When I asked Aaron if everything was good, he said that he replaced the board and it started working. I paid them and they left. I was still trying to figure out what Patrick did outside if it was just the Board that needed replacement and so I called Aaron asking him what work did Patrick do. He said that he messed up the wiring while replacing the board and it shorted the contactor and so Patrick replaced it for free. I have never had anyone fix anything for free and not tell me. That is when I realized that I had been conned. What a convenient coincidence that he fried the contactor which was the original issue that my thermostat pointed to. And he didn't even mention it to me while I was making the payment which clearly shows that either they are incompetent and refuse to accept, it or they knew the issue and conned me. Either way this company shouldn't be in business. If you do the mistake of calling them, make sure to get a second opinion before paying $960 like me.
