His price was competitive, but more importantly he does it right. After painting the seams are not even noticeable. John does not paint, but will recommend painters who've painted his work. We had 6 1/4" moulding installed in our house with 10' ceilings. Our baseboards are comparable is size. John brought a bunch of samples and helped us select one that worked in scale and design. On two occasions John called us to say he was running late (20 minutes).. who does that? A contractor who values your time and customer service! He left the house as clean as he found it. It was raining on the install day and he used our garage to do the cutting. He then cleaned up and also used a blower to leave the area cleaner than when he started. I actually went onto the Home Advisor. Com Website and explained the work that we needed done. We needed our house's crown molding installed. I also informed the website that we had the materials. Literally within 5 minutes I received a call from John. I was shocked and let John know just how surprised I was .I explained to John normally that I'm lucky to get a call and when I do there's always a story. I explained to John that my husband was recovering from surgery and didn't know that I was inquiring about getting the crown molding installed. Well I told my husband about what I'd done and he gave John a call. It was the best thing I have ever done. No really. I know that sounds like a cliché but it's true. We put roughly 5 inch crown in the majority of the home (10' ceilings) , roughly 7 inch crown for our 12' ceilings and roughly 9 inch crown for our 16' ceilings. He did a phenomenal job. We had John install crown throughout our entire house (3,400 sq ft). It was a huge job with a lot of angle and some odd cuts and WOW we are so impressed with his craftmanship and attention to detail. He was one of 3 quotes and we felt most comfortable with him and his pricing was competitive and from what I have seen in other homes we actually got a better price and much better quality work! Love that Italian engineering!! Our biggest pet peeve with crown molding is when you can see the seam where two pieces come together and I can say you cannot see one seam in my entire house. Our home is new construction, but we were having some interior upgrades done and both our painter and general contractor were impressed and commented on how nice the molding looked. I met with several vendors over several weeks to discuss pricing and type/size of crown moulding. Only John made suggestions, good suggestions, that the other vendors didn't. I thought even though my house is small with lower ceilings that I should use a smaller crown moulding size. John suggested a slightly larger size and placed my smaller moulding sample next to a larger moulding sample he had and what a big difference in the look. I went with John's suggestion to have a larger size moulding and it didn't cost much more than using a smaller moulding. The final product looks great and really adds a nice touch to a 60 year old house. John also added a small fireplace mantle and again made good suggestions in a design that I didn't even think of. I will use him to add moulding in my kitchen once that gets updated.
