I one hundred percent recommend Crowning Touch if you want a beautiful job with crown installation! John came to our rescue when we needed someone to install crown molding throughout our house. He came over on the weekend gave us an estimate that same day and the following week we had our crown molding up throughout the house. It took him two days and looks spectacular!! The corners are perfect though out the house. John gave us a great price and beautiful work!!! John is one of the nicest guys and will give you a professional & beautiful job, his 30 years of experience definitely shows in his work!!! Thank you so much John for an amazing job!!! read more

John did our whole house, up and downstairs in 5 1/4 crown molding. From coming out, giving us a the best quote we had out of 4 on the spot(and actually measuring and pricing out each room, instead of an eyeball quote), from being super flexible about scheduling the work. The whole job was about a week for well over 700 LF of molding, and his work is absolutely flawless. As mentioned in other reviews, here are no visible seams, and he custom cuts the corners, instead of using precut pieces. John is super friendly, funny, and skilled. I have recommended him to my neighbors who are using him as well. As mentioned, he doesn't do the finish work, but will recommend people who can. You won't be disappointed in using Crowning Touch. read more

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful!!! John does amazing work!! He showed up right on time and worked on our project until it was completed. We have over 900' of crown molding and I cannot find one seam!! He is amazing at hiding the seams. The crown molding adds so much to the house!! Again, beautiful!! read more

BEAUTIFUL work. Updating a house we just bought, had a contractor lined up, he strung us along for 4 wks then went completely MIA (just FYI, it was DS Powell in Davis, CA). Was desperate for last minute work, saw John's yelp reviews. Called him on a Weds, he picked up his phone even though in vacation. Told him we needed ASAP work so our painters can touch up the crowns before they leave. He came to the house that Sunday as soon as he came back, 4 rooms worth of crown molding done by Monday night! 5 days turn around, amazing. He charged less then what I was quoted. My painters loved working w him. Check out the work around the range in the kitchen, all the twists and turns of the room, absolute perfection (posted in photos). Look no further, call John! read more

John is a perfectionist. And when it comes to crown, that's a good thing. Friendly, punctual and professional. Most of our layout was pretty easy, but John's mastery is in his corners and his splicing. So tight. This is the second time we have had John do installs for us and both times, the end result is beautiful. It's so nice finding someone who really takes pride in their work, is reliable, reasonably priced and a nice guy. I contacted John before we closed escrow on our new house, and with short notice, He was going to get in before our painters so they could start a couples days later, that didn't happen the way it was supposed to...lol Our painters were right behind him as he worked, which was amazing to see how they worked together. John was very meticulous, fast and took great pride in his work. His work is impressive, from room to room and corner to corner, Our painters even commented on how good his work was, that made me feel even better. We highly recommend Crowning Touch, thank you John. Ken & Stacey Folsom, CA. read more

Crowning Touch - Carpenters Near Me

John did our crown moulding in our kitchen, dining, living rooms and entry way. We had about 150 linear feet - a small project. He is a true professional and perfectionist. His price was competitive, but more importantly he does it right. After painting the seams are not even noticeable. John does not paint, but will recommend painters who've painted his work. We had 6 1/4" moulding installed in our house with 10' ceilings. Our baseboards are comparable is size. John brought a bunch of samples and helped us select one that worked in scale and design. On two occasions John called us to say he was running late (20 minutes).. who does that? A contractor who values your time and customer service! He left the house as clean as he found it. It was raining on the install day and he used our garage to do the cutting. He then cleaned up and also used a blower to leave the area cleaner than when he started. I've already recommended him to others. He's a true craftsman and a very pleasant person who enjoys his work and takes pride in it. See photos. read more

I actually went onto the Home Advisor. Com Website and explained the work that we needed done. We needed our house's crown molding installed. I also informed the website that we had the materials. Literally within 5 minutes I received a call from John. I was shocked and let John know just how surprised I was .I explained to John normally that I'm lucky to get a call and when I do there's always a story. I explained to John that my husband was recovering from surgery and didn't know that I was inquiring about getting the crown molding installed. Well I told my husband about what I'd done and he gave John a call. It was the best thing I have ever done. No really. I know that sounds like a cliché but it's true. John is truly a great person who is not just professional but goes that 150 % more. John was precise cordial and respectful. But that's not where it ends John has the greatest sense of humor and got along great with my husband. Trust me that's not easy to do. He's a picky guy who prides himself on knowing guiet a bit or thinks he knows everything. After John had completed the job- in one day - are you ready for that ?? I thanked him and so did my husband. After John had left my husband kept looking around and just kept saying how great our house looked And what a difference it made.. And come to think of it.. My husband never did thank me for getting on the Home Advisor Website!! It's been 2 weeks and just yesterday my husband looks at that crown molding and smiles and says. It looks soooo good and I smile and say Dilley Dilley lol private joke. We Thank you with all our hearts John. The Ansaldos read more

I would give John more than 5 stars if I could. He was extremely professional and has great attention to detail. He's a great craftsman who goes out of his way to do the job well. If you're lucky enough to get John Marsalla to work on your crown molding project, you will not be disappointed! We had John add crown molding to our entire home. We put roughly 5 inch crown in the majority of the home (10' ceilings) , roughly 7 inch crown for our 12' ceilings and roughly 9 inch crown for our 16' ceilings. He did a phenomenal job. His work ethic is beyond impressive. He came to work the same time every morning and stayed well into late afternoon, day after day until he completed the job. He worked alone and was a perfectionist at every turn. His work product was beyond impeccable, and his three-piece corners were perfect. We had painters come in afterwards to paint the crown and they too remarked at how impressive the molding was. And every guest we have had come to the house remarks at how beautiful our crown molding is. Hiring John was one of the best decisions we've made in decorating our home. With all honesty, it will be one of the best decisions you make as well! read more

An excellent installation of Crown molding at a very fair price. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

We had John install crown throughout our entire house (3,400 sq ft). It was a huge job with a lot of angle and some odd cuts and WOW we are so impressed with his craftmanship and attention to detail. He was one of 3 quotes and we felt most comfortable with him and his pricing was competitive and from what I have seen in other homes we actually got a better price and much better quality work! Love that Italian engineering!! Our biggest pet peeve with crown molding is when you can see the seam where two pieces come together and I can say you cannot see one seam in my entire house. Our home is new construction, but we were having some interior upgrades done and both our painter and general contractor were impressed and commented on how nice the molding looked. It has definitely changed the look and upgraded the features of our home. We can't thank John enough! He spent a lot of time here so we'll miss him! read more

John is AMAZING! A total artist and perfectionist at his craft. This is the only thing he does and he does it quickly, inexpensively and perfectly. He consults on the design, crown selection and adds touches like framing our fireplace instead of simply running the crown to the sides. I've worked with 20+ contractors on our home remodel and he is by far the best. He's incredibly reliable, personable and genuinely enjoys what he does. Could not recommend more highly! read more

John did a lovely job of installing crown molding all thru my 1750' house. Showed up when expected, completed on time and on budget. Before hiring him I did shop for prices, he was on par with the other 2 bids I got. John did all of the moulding in our house 15 years ago. This included a beautiful and flawless boxed ceiling in our family room. We have had him back multiple times over the years for other projects - most recently for a pool house remodel. I am a painful perfectionist and have learned to completely trust him - will ask my wife " ask John what he thinks?"! He is an artist that completes his projects within budget and on time. I met with several vendors over several weeks to discuss pricing and type/size of crown moulding. Only John made suggestions, good suggestions, that the other vendors didn't. I thought even though my house is small with lower ceilings that I should use a smaller crown moulding size. John suggested a slightly larger size and placed my smaller moulding sample next to a larger moulding sample he had and what a big difference in the look. I went with John's suggestion to have a larger size moulding and it didn't cost much more than using a smaller moulding. The final product looks great and really adds a nice touch to a 60 year old house. John also added a small fireplace mantle and again made good suggestions in a design that I didn't even think of. I will use him to add moulding in my kitchen once that gets updated. He has a very good eye for design, works quick but accurately and has a good sense of humor (and likes my fat little dog). read more
