It's nice that they have a pool but it was so heavily chlorinated that my skin started itching and tingling about five minutes in. I decided to leave a day early and called down to the desk at 6pm the night before to ask if someone would be at the front desk early (6-7am) for me to checkout early. They just replied yes. The problem, they charged me for the room because I didn't give them 24 hours notice I was leaving early. I was not told this when I called down and their website under info does not say this. I have left early from hotels many times, and this is the first time I've been charged for it. When I booked the room, they spend a lot of time explaining no early check in, but not one mention that they charge if you leave a day early and don't give them 24 hour notice.

Shower pressure was great. Beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fine, nothing special but we didn't leave hungry, no eggs that I saw. For what we needed, it was the best option I believe. If I could have afforded another $50 on an upgraded hotel, I'd probably spend it. These guys were truly phenomenal- they asked if there were any requests or accommodations we had and I jokingly asked them to wish my wife a happy belated birthday and they got her a birthday card for when we arrived. If steps aren't a problem and you are staying in Kearney, I would definitely consider this location; it's across the highway from many of the other hotels and seemed to be on the quieter; less-congested side in my opinion. The AmericInn in Kearney is dirty, dingy, and in disrepair. It smells bad. The carpets are worn and look like they haven't been cleaned in years. My dog literally tucked her tail between her legs and refused to come inside (dogs know!) and I had to carry her. The TV isn't working. The windows don't open to the outside. You can hear every sound from neighbors around us. The luggage cart was filthy. My husband stepped in a pile of dog poop on his way from the car, which should have been a sign. With so many options near the convention center I would take a hard pass on this one.
