IDOT had been known to close the buildings randomly throughout the year and frequently during cold weather (possibly because they're jerks but we can't be sure) please check the IDOT website or FB if this sort of thing is important to your travels and have a lovely trip :-)

Even though we stopped at a late hour (well after a time you would expect the facility to have last been cleaned), it was nonetheless in great shape. The rest stop common area is well lit at night and incorporates several state history displays to occupy your mind as you wearily stroll the property while avoiding getting back into your vehicle. There are hundreds of gas stations along the east-west interstate corridor that could only dream of being as clean as this facility (at least at the time we stopped). Well done, folks.

I did not see a diaper station in the ladies room but am told there is one in the men's room. There is also a family rest room. Water fountains are inside and vending machines are outside the building under a sheltered area. A paved pathway circles the building and lead to picnic tables and benches. Most picnic tables are in full sun. We saw one in the shade (4pm in July) and one ADA picnic table-a handicap sign is next to that table, behind the building. A large sculpture is located in the far right corner of the property by a man made pond. Plenty of parking for all types of vehicles with permit spots near the entrance.

We also split a Mango Lassi. After a short wait, our orders came out and we could finally start eating. The Basmati Rice was fluffy and worked really well with our entrées. The Chicken Vindaloo was delicious and spicy but my mouth recovered after a while. The Saag Paneer was likewise very good. But the Garlic Naan was the absolute bomb!! I could have made a complete meal out of just that! It is a surprising find this far from a major city.

I accidentally booked my Hilton Honors reservation for the wrong date and ran into problems trying to get the issue corrected through corporate channels. Michael stepped in personally, contacted Hilton Corporate himself, explained the situation, advocated for me, and stayed involved until everything was fully resolved. The female employee helping during the process was also incredibly patient, kind, and professional. Exceptional customer service is rare these days, but this team truly went above and beyond. Because of Michael's leadership and willingness to help, my faith in the Hilton brand was restored. Highly recommend this location for both the hospitality and the professionalism of the staff.

The rooms were large enough for 5 of us for 3 days. The sitting area, game room and lounge area were large enough to accomdate us all comfortably. Kearney is fairly small so i would say iys close to everything. Higjly recommended
