I am, via 20 years of travelling with dogs, alarmingly familiar with Motel 6, for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've been to ones so bad that I had to guard the car all night and ones so good--well, okay, not really a thing tht happens. It's a budget hotel, after all. But the Kearney, NE shop is pretty nice. Laminate floors, indoor hallways instead of those squalid concrete exterior stairs and balconies, nice service, luggage carts, cool staff, newish beds, clean rooms--and it's reasonably near a grocery store, car wash, and gas station as well as I80. I'd stay again for sure. They were also nice to the dog babies. read more

This is a great Motel 6 that allows pets to stay for free. Probably one on the cleanest and best maintained motels for the price we have stayed in. Overall, we were very impressed with the room, staff, parking, and price. Definately, if you want a reasonably price great hotel to stay in, this is your hotel. I notice they also have good designated parking if you are towing a trailer that is easy to get in and out. read more

My final rating for this stay is going to depend on whether or not I get murdered. The room is much more expensive than the last time we stayed here... but that's not a surprise on a Saturday night. There were no single rooms left, and we were ready to rest and feed the meows. What was a surprise was how unsafe I felt in the parking lot and the way that uneasiness followed me into the room. I felt the need to brace the sliding window with a chair so that if someone pops it with a crowbar, we will have enough notice to give ourselves a fighting chance. There are so many creepy people outside tonight... Sounds as if a baby was being tortured next door... now dead silence. Now scraping noises. The room is clean, and other than the "don't go into the basement!" Vibes, it seems fine. (Stay out of the basement!!!!) It's not the staff... the front desk was perfectly nice and decent... it's just that Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting energy. read more

I moved to the moat till six after a nightmare unsafe experience at the Kearney Super 8. The room rate at the both properties is about the same. This property is clean, Well maintained, and the staff very friendly and helpful. I love dogs and cats, however, is it fair that they get to stay for free and I don't get coffee except from 6 to 10 in the morning? dogs even get free biscuits :-) There is no coffee pot in my room. That would be really nice! I'm leaving at 4 am, so there will be no coffee. Luckily Casey's is nearby for coffee. The kind desk clerk did offer decaffeinated instant coffee, I'm not sure that'll help at 4 AM. This property would be 5 Stars with a coffee pot in my room. For a Motel 6, this place was not only inexpensive, it was incredibly clean. I am not a dog owner and was concerned about a smell but was told each room is deep cleaned after a dog visits. It didn't smell like animal. We pulled in late and left in the in the early dark so the price was right for a quick rest stop overnight. Jessica checked us in with a cheerful smile and lots of information on where the get a late dinner. Our first choice was a different hotel that was full and more than double the price. A welcome relief! After having the scariest hotel stay of my life the night before in another motel six (in St Joseph MO) this hotel was a nice surprise. The hotel was clean and quiet and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, the bathroom was spacious and the shower had hot water and good water pressure. The HVAC worked great and so did the mini fridge. I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to any weary traveler looking for a good night's sleep. read more

Just stayed here again with my dog on my way through nebraska. This place never ceases to amaze me. The value, cleanliness, accessibility to many dining facilities, and the big clean rooms. And I don't know where they find stuff for this place, but they are all so friendly and upbeat. They always make us feel welcome and valued. This is a rather nice Motel 6. The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. HOWEVER, If you're looking for a place that is attentive to COVID safety, look elsewhere. None of the morning staff were wearing masks. They were walking the halls and other common areas without masks. Most disturbing of all, the housekeeper was cleaning rooms without a mask. What's the use of using all the high-quality disinfectants if the housekeeper is breathing all over everything in the room? read more

Very nice stay right from the start. Staff at check in was very pleasant. Room was very clean LOVE that that don't have rugs in the room just makes it feel cleaner. Thought the shower was so cute being triangular shaped but proved to be difficult for a taller person to shower. Plenty of places to eat and shop in the area. Checked in after midnight during my long road trip and the room was okay. Clean, small and had a bed, great. BUT at 8am I got a knock on my door by housekeeping. At 8am !!!! After I said "Are you crazy?" and told her to "Beat it!" I could hear her loudly knocking, slamming doors and waking up everyone else on my floor. Do people around here get up with the roosters or something? Jeez! Now she is vacuuming the hallway! The whole point of a motel is to sleep. That was ruined, I'm out of here. Overall the nicest Motel 6 I've ever stayed in. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. The beds, however, felt like they weren't well supported by the frame and I could easily roll off one of the edges. Unfortunately, sleeping in the middle wasn't helpful, it felt like there was a long bar running down the length of the bed. The rooms are not sound proof either- I could also hear the neighbors flushing the toilet and running water all night- It was so loud I couldn't determine which neighbors it was coming from (one of the sides, up above, down below!?). read more

Really enjoyed staying at this motel 6. Friendly staff, the rooms were welcoming and clean with nice TVs and the location was great. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Can't beat it for $52 a night! Only problem was it was New Years and the family next to us was loud late in the night, and it sounded like they were in the hallways! Oh well I would still recommend this place to anyone. read more

In general, Motel 6 doesn't have the best reputation. Most people think of a run down roach motel when they think of Motel 6, and that might be true at some locations, but this location is surprisingly nice (for a Motel 6) and well kept. The building itself appears relatively modern, and the room I was assigned was clean and presentable. This location forgoes the nasty low pile carpet normally associated with motels and put laminate floors in its place. For sanitation reasons, this is a good choice. Not many amenities are offered here, but you shouldn't expect them at this price. Overall, pretty good for a Motel 6. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

Skip this motel 6 ! We study at this chain all over the country but this one is not a good choice. They changed the price from the big interstate sign and said, " when we start filling up we raise the rates". We ended up at the Blue Spruce down the road which was a great stay. read more

There is no beating the updated motel 6 locations when you are traveling with pets. Beautiful rooms with nice big showers. This location was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. Our room even had a refrigerator and a microwave, surprising seeing that we only paid 50 dollars for 2 people and 2 dogs. I stayed at this place a couple of weekends ago in room 123. For the price you can't beat it. I don't really understand the people who complain about the amenities but want to pay under $50 for a hotel. What do you think you're going to get? I also read a review by a guy who was mad that his smoking room smelled like cigarettes...WTF? I had to deal with the staff a few times and every time they were cheerful and helpful. The only complaint I have is on the last night a family moved into a room next to mine and were fairly loud (Not the hotels fault) and they were smoking in their room and I could smell it pretty strongly in my bathroom. This was around midnight and I banged on the wall and they quieted down so it wasn't a huge issue. The main reason I stayed here is because they didn't charge an extra fee for pets and I happened to be traveling with two dogs. Pets or not if I find myself back in Kearney I would quite possibly stay here again, it would just depend on how much I felt like spending on a hotel that time around. read more

We rolled in late at night, with diminished options because we are traveling with our dog. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and updated. New floors and fixtures. I was skeptical to stay at a Motel 6, at under $60 before taxes and no extra pet fees. I had visions of old rooms, must, and icky. Wrong!!! All total, $68, was well worth this place. The rooms have a modern minimalist feel, pergo floors, and are cleaned thoroughly between pets. Ice machine handy, elevator, hot cocoa and hot water at the front lobby. Tv had plenty of channels, room is brightly lit. The room does have the faint dog smell reminiscent of a vets office. My cat was happy to climb atop the open closet. It's a great place to stay with your pet. The bed is enclosed underneath so no worries your little furry pet will hide to where you have to struggle. read more

This hotel has a modern retro design inside. The rooms were a little small, but were clean and comfortable. There was no breakfast and the walls were thin so you could hear people walking around upstairs but after they went to bed it was mostly quiet the whole night. read more

We just needed a place to bed down for the night. The rate was very reasonable. The hallway was a little smokey smelling, but the rooms were not. This is one of the best Motel 6's we've ever stayed in. Have stayed here numerous times going cross-country. While Motel 6 is not the fanciest chain, this particular one is outstanding. We've always had a clean room and the staff has always been super friendly. Also I've never seen any low-lifes hanging around or partying. My last stay was in Aug (2014) and I'm planning on staying there again in December. It's inexpensive, clean and pet friendly. Can't go wrong! read more
