I've been a patient at crown since 1995 and have had great service. Dr Levi is top notch!

This vision center regularly violate HIPAA by leaving patient records open on screens for ever one to see, at least when I was there. After not putting bifocal in my glasses TWO TIMES, not refunding me my money, misdiagnosed uveitis and multiple attempts to get my records, so I would never go back. Yet this store played games till a had to and be loud and take up space. I only was asking to give me my records! They played and I played back. The police were called and they had me trespassed from the property. But I knew that was what they would do. So funny to me, because I have been wanting to get away from them, months ago! Moral of the story: it took them 8 months to do what myself and 3 cops did in 5 minutes. THEY FINALLY HANDED ME ALL MY RECORDS!! So be loud , take up space and never let anyone treat you like Crown Vision of Alton treated me! Have the day you deserve ladies! read more

Expensive, $1,128 for transition, polorized and mid-range $ frames. Ooch! Then when picking up, paying final $150. I asked about the $25 off deal. First she says they dont have it. Theni show her. Rude as cab be she with a raised voice. No you can not get that. Offer good only when you are picking the frames. Well????? I said you dont have to be rude. She replies ...if you got a problem then call my manager. I was never rude and hands me the business card in a maner of holding the card that only the middle finger was only one on top of card as to imply.....fu#* you. The lady at the front desk snapped at me and I decided then and there I would get the eye exam but not purchase eyewear from them. The eye doctor was nice and the lady that helps you pick out the glasses was also nice and friendly. I won't go back. read more

I'm always treated like I'm the only customer in the store. Service is amazing

The alton illinois store manager does not care anything about customer service. I had some lenses put in a frame i brought in. First they were late coming in then when they came in I was told I didn't pay for them when I did, fast forward 40 minutes of them arcing searching the system to find out that I did. Then to find out after I left the store that my transitions were not put in the lenses. So after bringing them back in one piece I get a call a day later to tell me i brought in broken frames. After a couple of times back and forth with the store associates and finally with the manager I was basically told there's nothing they can do.so I go pick up my glasses and looked at the area in question and realized that this break was way to large not to been seen for the week i had the glasses. Also it is clearly something that happened when the lenses were put in the frame, its cracked right on the area where the screw is tightened to hold the lenses. I even told her i know it didn't happen there at the store and that it had to happen when. The lenses were installed.. And if anyone saw them can tell that someone glued them and the glue just didn't hold.. Hense the crack showing after the frames were handled. I explained this to the manager just to be rudely told there's nothing they could do. This is after she said it wouldn't cost them anything to repair them. And if they had to replace them it wouldn't have been a huge cost. I only paid 50$ for the frames. I even asked not even for the sake of customer service?, to which the answer i got was a very stern NO!! and is there anything else I could do for you. So I asked again, not even for the sake of customer service? Just to get they same but more aggressive NO! So now I'm angry, so I asked basically you're saying screw you? She said no but still refused to help me with is a issue that was clearly not my fault. That's saying screw you without saying you. And I tried to leave a review on their Facebook page but there's there's no way to post a review. Im assuming its to keep people from. Posting honest reviews about the store. So this is why I'm writing and will be sending a copy to our local paper and Google review page or any other forum I can let people know how this place is managed. Sbrown read more

I called in and was quoted as price for out of pocket exam, and when I got there, I was charged more. Upon questioning the assistant manager she told me that all crown vision locations have different prices for their eye exams and she was sorry that the call center who scheduled me gave me wrong information. I didn't argue, but then left and called the call center back. They advised me that all locations in Illinois and Missouri out-of-pocket pay as a standard price for eye exams. I do not recommend this place as the assistant manager was not helpful at all. I ordered glasses the day of the exam, and I am very nervous to receive them no customer should feel this way. read more

I will NEVER go back!! In 2018, I went elsewhere & was only charged $78 for exam which included all of the same services - insurance covered it all. While that was several years ago, Crown charged $195 for exam, $79 (after ins discount) for myopia management (nearsightedness) & $39 for retinal screening which was an option I chose but it was included in routine exam at the other place. Insurance estimated payment is $195 less $10 copay so I walked out paying $128!!! You walk in thinking insurance will pay routine exam then they add on extras under different codes that insurance will not pay. WHAT A SCAM!! From now on, I will call to schedule exams & get exact costs & never schedule online. I seem to remember a huge cost for glasses, too. read more

Can't even get prescription correct or fit of glasses right then you have to wait a month for a refund even when you pay with a card

Worst eye care experience ever. Will never go to this location again. Was the Alton location. Looked like a hole in the wall. Immediately felt there might be some dissention among employees there. Picked up on a few things. The wait was ridiculously long-appointment was 9:50am and at 10:40 still not called back, it wasn't even busy, no sense or urgency at all to get the next patient, the location smelled, and the guy before us was crawling with lice. He scratched and scratched in the waiting room then all the employees went into the room he was in after he moved to the next room, and I heard them all whispering in a tizzy. I am sure he infested this location with lice. I called corporate because lice has to be treated with bleach spray. Not a little wet wipe. In my opinion the office needed to close and sanatize. One of the employees ripped out a burp while we were waiting. I was in shock and my 15 yr old and I were in disbelief hearing that. The doctor was substituted without anyone advising me ahead of time and she came out talking to herself. It was weird. Super weird. The lady after us left too. Very bad vibes in there. Sad our foster kids/adopted foster kids are stuck with such lousy service because the state of Illinois doesn't pay quick enough to get quality care. I finally left and went to the Ofallon, IL location. Totally different atmosphere. Much better service. Much more professional. Very professional location manager at the Ofallon location. I am doing another review with a great rating for the Ofallon location. read more

I just love the Dr here, she's very sweet and quite professional. I had the LASIK surgery and she did the followup. Great experience!

I only go to this place b\c my insurance makes me. the people are nice enough, and the care is good and what I need. However, the machines are all very old, there is always a different doctor when I go, and its dirty. The sink had water spots and buildup on it and clearly had not been cleaned in a very long time. They did not wipe off any of the machines before I put my face in them. and the doctor seemed focused on selling me lasik. I said I'm waiting for the price to go down, and he said 'cheaper than 3k for both eyes?" and seemed a bit shocked when I didn't jump at the chance to give him $3,000...(not to mention I can get it through my health ins carrier for $800\eye.) I am disappointed in my glasses. Tried two types. Of bifocals an niether where correct. Ended up with. Far vision single glasses. And asked for refund adjustment. Several times since bifocals and no lines where a lot more. Still no response. If don't get any where this week. They can have them back and give full refund. Was recommended by the teamsters union hall I belong too. Pretty sad. Plus seventy miles round trip every time I went there. Thank u read more

On my first few visits the staff at Crown Vision Center seemed very helpful. When my glasses and contacts came in, they did not meet my needs. I made several trips back to Crown Vision, my glasses were sent in, some things were discovered--as in the bifocal on one lens was sideways. That did not correct the problem. I was finally told they had done all they could and nothing more could be done. I am stuck with over $600 in contacts and glasses that I cannot use. I am very disappointed. I sent a letter asking if they would help me with the cost. I've never heard from them. read more
