It's always good to have a doctor laugh at my silly nervous jokes I always make when seeing an optometrist. My mother was my optometrist my entire life, until she passed away recently, so seeing new optometrists can be a whole thing for me sometimes. That's where the nervous joking comes from. The lady explained the daily doses and told me to come back in six months so Doctor Lyman could check for improvement of that condition. She said there wouldn't be a charge. I returned in September for the test. As the lady began the test, she informed me there would be a $25 charge. I stated that the lady before said there wouldn't be a charge. The only reason for this visit was for a test to check for improvement. She went out to ask somebody but came back and said they were all busy. She was fairly friendly before that but then her demeanor changed. I said it's not the end of the world but stated that's what I was told. She then took me to the exam room. As Doctor Lyman and I were talking another lady came in and immediately broke into the conversation to ask me how many more bottles of Eye Promise I wanted to buy. I went out with her to pay for them ($117). She was not friendly or interactive other than telling me the total amount due and that there was the now popular additional charge for using a credit card. She got my receipt and I put it in my bag. She didn't respond with anything. Not a "thank you" or anything else. I could have been adamant about the $25 charge. While that is less than pocket change to me it's the thing of what I was told in April. I followed Dr. Lyman to Performance Eyecare because he has been taking care of me for MANY years. I was not nasty or ignorant about the charge. I always show respect to those who do their job to sell me a product or service. I expect the same from those who need ME as a customer. I walked out the door and wondered what I did wrong. I paid what they told me even though it was incorrect but I didn't disrespect them. When I was in retail the owners would sometimes remind us that the customer keeps the business open. Disrespect and foul attitudes towards a pleasant customer will often be devastating for the business. Also, the employees of Performance Eyecare appear pushy to increase sales. I don't appreciate that either. Dr. Lyman has always been kind, attentive and respectful to me over the years. However, some of the other employees are my reason to never return. I won't pay their expensive prices for foul and uppity attitudes. Also, this business will text me after I've been there to ask me to take a survey. I gave them a perfect review after my prior visit. I then got a thank-you text for my "great feedback" and was asked to share it on Google. After my review pertaining to this last visit, I heard nothing. They didn't have the integrity to contact me. I gave them time however they only respond when the review is warm and fuzzy. That's alright, now this will be posted on Yelp and Google.

My wife had to fill out forms and upon giving them back 10 minutes later, we were told by a rather unfriendly lady working there that the doctor won't see her as my wife was late. The office Manager could have told us this upon arrival, but instead wasted our time. I'm sure that if she would have actually asked the doctor if it would be ok, we would have gotten in. The Manager's attitude was totally awful. She was not at all pleasant and said we would have to come back in 3 months. So what that lady did was not only lose a new customer, she also made me mad and so has now lost 2 customers forever. The Manager appeared to be totally burned out and was in need of either more 'sleep' or a new job. We just cannot believe how unaccommodating she was! We will let our primary physician know along with everyone who may be in need of a sleep study in the future. Do NOT go to this office. I liked the doctor and Jane, the NP, but I'm done with that office!! I'll never go back. The doctor needs to 'wake-up' and get new people to work there. Give them a year and then try. Maybe by then, there will be newer and friendly staff.

This is required by my insurance. So, I revisited Dr. Schwartz January 28. My usage of the C-PAP machine was confirmed. I no longer have to take in the tiny chip, because . . . They are tracking my sleep patterns remotely with this new machine. And they found with this new machine I have fewer "events" per hour and better sleep patterns, less interrupted sleep, less obstructed sleep. "Events" are classified as times when you stop breathing. That's what sleep apnea is about. You stop breathing. You are at higher risk of heart attack and stroke. If you snore, get a sleep study. That's how I got into this. Take care of yourself, and understand yourself.

This is done before the vision test. The vision test is the most thorough I have ever had. When the tests are complete they are reviewed by a qualified Doctor and a prescription is written. You may take this prescription to any Eye Glass center you wish, or select from frames and lenses offered at the adjoining store. The optical store may require a second appointment as the staff there is limited. They will work with most insurance companies. Both the students and the Doctors are especially nice and helpful and will answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend them!
