She was so disappointed when she went to get a new battery for her watch because the shop was "empty". I went to investigate... Located on Pensacola Street, across from Kaiser Medical Center, Crown Time House shares a small parking lot with all of the businesses in the two-story building. It's a one-way traffic pattern for the free parking lot behind the building. Enter from Pensacola Street and exit onto Young Street. DO NOT BRING YOUR WATCH TO THIS GUY Needed a new battery for my G-Shock Mudmaster GGB100 and figured I'd bring my other G-Shocks in too (another Mudmaster GG1000 & two others). It took him THREE DAYS to figure out how to put the two Mudmasters back together. Even then, the straps on one wouldn't sit correctly. Here I am, 2 months later, with water in my watch because he apparently didn't seal it correctly. I didn't write this review when I should have as to give him a chance to prove me wrong. $80 for 6 batteries & at least one dead watch. BUYER BEWARE. My pops told me that the watches I had bought for him had died, and that he needed some new fresh batteries for his watches, but didn't know where to go to get the watch batteries replaced. Originally, my plans were to take my dad's watches to Duncan Jewelry, because I had experienced pretty good service, & reasonable prices for the battery replacement, but unfortunately when I got to Duncan Jewelry, they were closed due to their special operating hours during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not wanting to wait until Duncan Jewelry open, as I headed back to the parking lot, I told the parking lot attendant that I was gonna go somewhere else to do some shopping and maybe swing back later to Duncan Jewelry when they open. Luckily for me that friendly parking lot attendant gave me a friendly tip about another watch repair shop called - "Crown Time House" as it was not too far away from Duncan Jewelry. Crown Time House is located on Pensacola Street, just across the street from Kaiser Hospital............or if you're looking for another landmark, just up the street (going Mauka) from the Vacuum Cleaner Store on South King Street & Pensacola. As I walked into the store, I could see that this place not only did watch & clock repairs, but they also sold various clocks & watches. After the elderly gentleman finished helping a customer over the phone, he came over to greet me. I told the gentleman that I needed to have some batteries replaced on two watches. The gentleman said "no problem", and told me that it would be $12.00 bucks each (per watch) for the battery replacement. In my mind I was planning on leaving the watches, then come back a few days later to pick up the watches when they were done with the battery replacement (this is what happened to me when I used Duncan Jewelry). To my surprise, the elderly gentleman just went to his work bench with the two watches I had brought down, took apart the watches and replaced both batteries within 5 minutes or so! AMAZING!!! Paid my $24.00 plus tax, and was out the door in no time at all! NOTE: CASH IS KING!!! If you come here to get any work done, this business only takes cash or checks. I never heard of this place but an owner of another place I usually take my watch/clock for service couldn't help me and referred me here. When I arrived, there were already 2 people in his store so I waited outside close to 10 minutes. I was glad when the owner was done with the first person because it was so hot outside at noon. When he helped the person in front of me to fix their watch band, he started working on it. It took him about 40 minutes...I'm guessing he didn't think it was going to take him that long to fix. I was getting kind of antsy because my husband was waiting in the car. I could hear the lady that was in back of me who was waiting in the hot sun cussing and swearing through the glass door...guess I would be upset too if I was outside. After he was done collecting the money, they started talking for another 5 minutes. He could see that there were people waiting but I don't think he knew how many...there were 4 people in back of me AND one left. It was now my turn. I wanted him to fix my Seiko wall clock...the time works but the chime and pendulum didn't. After waiting almost an hour to be waited on, I found out that he can't fix my wall clock because Seiko doesn't sell parts for it. He was really nice and took the time to explain. He doesn't rush you out to help the next person and tries to accommodate your needs. Even though it took so long for me to be served, I realized he was giving each customer fantastic personal service! Hmmm...maybe it would be a good idea if he took the items and have people pick it up later so it doesn't inconvenience the other customers that also wants his service. When I was done, I heard the person that was in back of me telling the owner she was picking up. Yikes! The reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because waiting over an hour is a little too much to ask anyone. read more

I took my rolex for a moisture problem. When I asked for a receipt for a warranty that the problem was fixed. The owner refused to give me a receipt because he said he was not giving me warranty for the repair, The following day the watch had stopped working and when I tried to adjust the time I was unable to do so. Now it makes sense why the prior two customers needed to pay cash and did not receive a receipt. He does not warrant his work and he is probably not paying he fair share of the income tax read more

During the clovid crisis, my watchband broke and I needed to get it fixed. Thankfully this business was open and the owner opened his shop when I called and got it fixed in no time. Being in the internet marketing business I am very cautious about posting a bad review as I know the implications. So I actually never do. However I do this to prevent other mechanical watch owners from having to deal with this. I have no doubt that this company can replace a battery and maybe even replace a quarts movement but it looks like, that's it. While the owner was very confident of being able to completely overhaul my Rolex for $500 dollar in 4 weeks not only he did not do any service to the watch and twice delayed the pick up lying to me he need more time where in fact he had not even started. After 7 weeks i ask for the watch back and he had not done anything. I had sold the watch Now and a reputable business man and watch dealer I trust told me that the watch was very dirty inside completely tried out and the rotor did not move correctly. These things happen for a watch at this age when you leave the movement unclosed. Very unprofessional. The watch run perfectly when I brought it to him but it was time for a maintenance. Also, when asking the owner to polish and brush the watch to his original state, he ask me which parts to brush and which parts to polish. Makes me think when he had the last time a original Rolex in its Hands. Again, I wish the owner all the best and he is a nice guy, but keep doing your battery changes or whatever. Leave servicing mechanical luxury watches to the people knowing what they are doing. I learned my lesson. read more

This small shop can get quite busy but it's worth the 20 minute wait. The owner is always courteous and will tell you if the watch is eroding inside. I've only gone here to replace watch battery. I saved my receipt for a $10.00 battery and when the watch stopped working after 11 months I called to ask how long the battery should last.
