During those two fires, I personally experienced how embers from the fire, travel in the air and impact homes and buildings through via the attic/gable vents. I observed while we were fighting fire at a Rancho Bernardo condominium complex as embers traveled through the air, and went through the attic vents and started the condominium building on fire.. After I saw that, I vowed that I would protect my home with some sort of gable vent that would prevent that from happening at my home. (Once embers get into the attic and start to burn, it is very difficult to stop that fire from spreading). I worked very closely with BrandGuard Vents located in Lake Forest, California, they did a great job and installed gable vent and soffit vents throughout my home for fire protection. Two of my neighbors across the street have used BrandGuard Vents and are very protected and happy as I am as well. I'd recommend Brandguard to anyone if they're they live close to a fire zone.
