Crown Diva's owner Kristen Bradford is absolutely amazing at what she does! I started pageants a few years back and I have been training with her on and off for the last two seasons. Her resume is so impressive, with multiple state title holders and two MISS USA winners ! She will help you with everything from wardrobe, walking, interview and even just a general stage presence. Kristen cares about every one of her clients and helps each of them to be the best version of themselves. She is very flexible and has been able to work with me with my always changing schedule. I would highly recommend attending one of her pageant boot camps or go in for a private coaching lesson. Even just one lesson makes such a difference ! She also directs her own local pageants, which I have competed in and loved my experience. read more

Knowing the owner and the quality of work she does with the Miss Malibu, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills USA Pageants, I expected nothing less from the hub. If you didn't know, both of her girls placed in the Miss California USA competition - winning the crown and getting 1RU (among more probably). I went to the store to find a dress for a Ball. Although nothing fit, the gowns were gorgeous, in all colors and a whole lot of beading! I was in heaven - who doesn't enjoy beading, sparkles and slits?! The guy that helped me was attentive and helpful. He pulled dresses for me and helped me sort through the rest. Moreover, they have dresses you can rent! So if you ever want something that'll make jaw drops, Crown Diva is the place to go. I will definitely come back for my next event! And if you want to work with the best pageant coach, go to their Bootcamps and sign up for the pageant! read more

As a pageant competitor, I know that a gown is supposed to compliment a woman; enhance her essence and Confidence while on a stage. Crown Diva has a fun atmosphere, excellent service, and a wonderful assortment of gowns. Trying them on is always a blast. My gown this past year that I got from crown diva won Best In Evening Gown at Miss California USA and was custom made for me by co-owner Christian Pelayo! I have been competing for over 10 years and had an AMAZING experience having both a high end competition gown and a cocktail dress altered at Crown Diva. Christian Pelayo who completed my alterations was not only extremely nice but is quite talented and took great care of the intricate beadwork and detail on the bodice of my gown. I purchased 2 pageant gowns from crown diva and I can honestly say both times were fabulous experiences! They have a divine selection of gowns to choose from from a wide range of prices. I know some dress stores are pushy at times, but not here. The owners Christian and Kristen truly care about your personal style, the proper fit and your price range. My first gown required a number of alteration, which were all done by Christian. He did an amazing job and helped make my vision of the gown a reality. read more

Where do I begin? As a shop its amazing! The shop has dresses for every occasion from prom/holidays/pageants. As a pageant girl, this place is your one stop go to place. Kristen offers dresses from many well known designers she can also have it altered to fit you perfectly and as every pageant girl knows in order to have the right attitude to compete you must have the right dress that fits you perfectly and Kristen makes sure of that. She also carries shoes to complete you pageant dress along with jewelry at affordable prices. Crown diva is also the home of the owner and pageant director of the MISS SANTA MONICA MISS MALIBU AND MISS BEVERLY HILLS prelim pageants for both miss and teen. These pageants are the prelims to get the MISS CALIFORNIA USA and once you become her title holder she pulls out all the stops to prepare for the state pageant. She also does private coaching and can offer advice from food/fitness/walking and interview tips and much more. You don't even have to be her title holder to get her advice. I shared some inspiration pics before my first appointment and Sherri immediately knew what I was looking for and pulled great options for me to try. I quickly found my top choice and came back a few days later to make the purchase. Sherri was very knowledgeable about every dress in her shop and supported me every step of the decision. I felt so confident saying yes to the dress here! This is a hidden gem tucked away in Sawtelle. It's not pretentious but rather a casual and relaxed atmosphere with fairly priced dresses and accessories. I also love that they do alterations in house. We booked an appointment 4 or 5 days ahead of time, as there was full availability on the calendar for weekdays. There is a 48 hour cancellation window, and at hour 47 we realized that the timing conflicted slightly with a work matter (when we made the appointment we were in New York and miscalculated the time difference). An email was sent at the 47th hour (1 hour after the window), mentioning the issue and asking if it could still be canceled since it was so close to the window, and apologizing for missing the window. The owner replied and specifically said "No problem, we've gone ahead and canceled the appointment for you". At this point, we figured all was well as they made no mention of still charging the fee. A few weeks later, we noticed the charge was still there. A quick email reply came when we inquired saying it was past their window and no refund was due. IF this was the case, why did the original email not say so and why did they make 0 effort to reschedule or ask if another time worked better? OR we could have made it work if she hadn't responded so positively. What a slimy way to make a quick $27 for nothing. I will restate that the calendar was still really really open (ie, it was not a highly sough after appointment slot taken from anyone else even on the off chance they were booking in the 2-4 days out window). Overall, it is a blessing the appointment didn't happen after reading some of these reviews about how the owner acts in person (no surprise there). Ended up with a beautiful dress from Berta and would highly recommend their new LA showroom on Beverly.

Santa Monica Tailor is right in Santa Monica near the well-known Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery. You can find street parking or grab a parking spot behind the business where there are a few spots reserved for clients. Inside is a classy setup with the tailoring mirror and stand along with nice displays of a suit, a vintage sewing machine as a decorative piece, some comfy chairs for clients or clients' friends and family, and tasteful furniture. I've always been greeted with a smile here and very speedy service. At the same time, I never feel rushed here, and I truly feel listened to. You'll want to bring in your garment(s) and then try them on for Mr. Bello to inspect the fit and ask you what modifications you'd like. He has guided me before when I wasn't too sure and wanted a second opinion on how something should fit. I trust him with his choices given his experience. Also, it's been fun getting to become a return customer and hear sometimes compliments on the quality of some garments I have brought in. I know he's seen a lot of clothes, so his eye is really sharp. Here, I have received services such as pants hemming, suit jacket slimming, suit jacket sleeve shortening, and pants tapering. Santa Monica Tailor has always done a great job. The fit always has come out nice for me, and when I checked out the details, I could see the worksmanship that goes into the garments. Note that the business has a policy where you can take in your tailored garment for modifications up to 7 days after recieving it if you are in some way unsatisfied. This is a very smart business move to build trust and loyalty, and it's a nice peace of mind for clients. I also have been happy with the quick turnaround times here and the ease of communication via phone and text. Prices have always been fair to me and in line with other top tailors in the LA area. Payment is accepted via at least cash and Venmo, which I have done, and possibly more like Zelle (inquire further about this). Overall, just a top-notch tailor in the LA area who treats clients with professionalism, respect, and class. It really is a great feeling to have a tailor you trust, so I encourage you to at least try them out and see for yourself.

Was cool to check out wouldn't come back due to pricing. Literally just came for the sonic merch and considering it was $40 for a small plus I feel would be in a claw game that alone almost had me straight turn around and leave. The one dude working was kinda following us around a bit too much that was kinda off putting to the experience of checking out the place, lowkey felt like he was expecting us to steal and was shadowing us for that which felt awkward....

Every time I went in to Crown Diva I was treated very well. Christian personally helped me pick out, alter and style all of my outfits for both Miss Malibu 2012 and Miss California USA 2013 and helped me become Most Photogenic California USA 2013! Can't thank him enough. read more
