Pretty cute little brunch cafe with ample outdoor seating along Orange ave. Coffee was good, but I don't believe I ever got a refill. Although, I don't drink my coffee that fast anyways, so the one full cup of coffee plus water was enough for me. Additionally, the waitress asked if I wanted either hot sauce or ketchup. I said ketchup, but I think she forgot about it. I was too antisocial and apathetic to even ask her again and just ate my food. Lol. I like the jars for the water. I got a Napolitano Joe's scramble. The eggs were soft and fluffy. There was a ton of spinach, which I am content with. However, there was not much garlic while I prefer a bit more. I also found the flavor of the sausage to be somewhat underwhelming. Hash browns were.....fine? Like, generically decent. I did enjoy the thicker sourdough toast and the higher quality jam.

One of my absolute favorites in all of Coronado. The specials are always delicious and change so often. The mimosas are the best you can find anywhere. They are MASSIVE. You can't find anything like these. They recently started making their own syrups for them. I love the California scramble and my daughter always get the pancake special which changes so often.

Crown Bistro is one of those places you can tell really cares about what they're doing. The service is genuinely warm and attentive without feeling over the top, and the menu clearly has a lot of thought behind it, everything feels intentional and well put together. The food and drinks were all great and Bella was extremely attentive. Definitely a spot worth visiting.

We absolutely love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious, service is super friendly, they always have specials and to top it off they have giant mimosas! We come here at least once a month for brunch. We love the outside seating and ambiance and they do a pretty good job of getting people in and seated. We love the hospitality that we get when we come here. They also have a great variety of coffees. You won't be disappointed coming here for brunch!

Given the location and the ratings I saw I was expecting a lot better from this restaurant. However we didn't have a great experience and the food was not as good as I thought it would be. We were seated outside as the majority of seating is outside. And while the weater the pleasant the flies certainly were not. I don't usually like to eat outside because I don't enjoy flies buzzing around while I am eating. While that is not the fault of the restaurant they didn't ask if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. So we were kind of stuck. The food is not very kid friendly and is aimed more at adults. The kid at our table ordered a Belgian waffle but it was way too big and he didn't end up finishing it. I ordered eggs Benedict and while the eggs were cooked perfectly the hollandaise sauce was so bland. The hash browns that came with were bland too and had zero flavor. My boyfriend ordered basic steak and eggs and he also wasn't impressed with lack of flavor in his food. Coronado has so many fun places to eat. If I ever come back I don't think I'll be returning here.

Crown Bistro in Coronado (attached to the Crown City Inn) is a charming little bistro that offers a cozy atmosphere and indoor and outdoor seating . Inside you get more hip vibes with upbeat music, while outside, you get more beachy bistro vibes. We ordered: Mimosa flight - Sour apple, Mango, Watermelon New York Steak chilaquiles (daily special) New York Steak & eggs Crab Benedict Hash Benedict Pancake & side of fruit (no kids menu)

Cute place located in a small hotel. Great patio seating and prompt service. Eggs Benedict were on point. Hash browns were crispy and tasty. Parking is on the street but wasn't too hard. Lunch starts at 11am and they won't budge on the time. Still great and I would return

Bella was an amazing host welcoming environment and will be coming back can wait to see the crew again.. Happy birthday Hector

While getting in my steps and exploring the Coronado neighborhood, I discovered Crown Bistro at 520 Orange Ave. A beautiful and quaint cafe nestled within the Crown City Inn. The Crown Bistro is a fantastic family owned restaurant with tasty food and stellar service. I had the incredible crab Eggs Benedict with a refreshing mimosa

I would say overall the meal was good but nothing to write home about. The server was quick but not particularly friendly. I ordered the Denver omelette which is pretty standard from place to place. Not oily which I appreciated. It was a $1 up charge for egg whites which isn't bad compared to other Cali restaurants which charge 2-4 bucks which is crazy. Hash browns were decent, again not oily which I like. I upgraded my side to a single pancake. It was a large portion so that was appreciated but it was visibly burnt when she brought it. I didn't make a stink bc a. I didn't have time to wait for another and b. I knew I wouldn't finish it so I kinda ate around the char but the server should know better than to bring that out. That being said, it was good texture and decent flavor but again nothing to write home about. I did enjoy the homemade jam. Overall, for $30 breakfast... not sure I would be back and everything was good.

Cute bistro with so much charm! They had normal portion sizes (which is hard to find in the US as a whole) and the dishes left us feeling satisfied, but not overly stuffed! Service is quick, super friendly, and the outdoor patio is a sunny dream!

The workers are super nice and the service was quick! The restaurant has a cozy and almost sunset-esque feel to it. The food tastes homemade but made to perfection! Please support this place when you are in the Coronado area!

We spent the night at this hotel and wanted to try the restaurant. It is a charming little place that is currently has dinner service Thursday through Saturday. Theresa and Jorge were our fine dining servers and they were professional and friendly. They started this off with their freshly baked ciabatta bread. We told them to please only bring two pieces. They did and they are very large pieces. We split one and took the other home to enjoy later as it was excellent. It was slightly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Next, we had a chicken vegetable soup and French onion soup. We enjoyed both. I ordered the scallops special with risotto and vegetables. Though I would have liked the scallops cooked 30 seconds longer, they were good and melted in your mouth. Don ordered Osso buco with pasta and vegetables. It was excellent and the lamb was tender. It seemed like a lot of locals come here and we can see why. This will be our "go to" place for dinner.

He genuinely reminded me of what hospitality is supposed to be. Someone who understands that being in the service industry means taking care of your guests, treating them with kindness, and making them genuinely want to come back. He completely turned our experience around. And the food was incredible. We had the quiche, one with mixed greens and one with potatoes. Surprisingly, we actually preferred the salad over the potatoes, but the real star was the quiche itself. I can confidently say it was the best quiche I've ever had. I think the name was in homage to the orange trees (and buildings to protect them) that were planted along the avenue by the original settlers of Coronado. There was a lovely outdoor patio in front of the entrance. The interior had several tables across from the open kitchen for inside seating. If you don't mind being outside, then dining al fresco is the way to go. A menu of the day was available that featured drinks, salty, sweet, and dessert items. The main menu was several pages long with a few of them dedicated to drinks. For a French bistro, the variety of items was solid. From the list of nine Main Courses, I chose the Creamy Chicken which was a chicken breast coated with cream and mushrooms. French fries and a salad came as sides to the dish. The flavor of the creamed mushroom sauce was good while the fries were ordinary. My concern was the prices as they seemed high, especially for some of the more simple preparations. I noticed that Chef Philippe and all of the staff were fluent in French which was a good sign for the camraderie of the team. The service I received from multiple workers was fine. A happy hour runs from 2:30 to 5:30 daily. I rounded the rating for my dining experience at L'Orangerie up to a four star level because I really liked the ambiance of this new café.

French onion soup. Enough said. Deviled eggs rounded out our light snack, and those were freshly prepared. While the expected olive and chive flavor was outstanding, the anchovy was done just right to elevate the dish (my understanding now is that anchovy is usually included in deviled eggs as served in Europe). Our espresso martinis excelled at fronting the coffee taste before the vodka, instead of the usual other way around. This sip was exactly as I remember when I had the same for dinner previously. Service as mentioned, was extremely friendly and more importantly, went beyond service and well into hospitable. Love coming here. Taking her advice, we sat on the patio. The regular dining room wasn't a good option either, given the heat in there too, aggravated by an extremely high noise level. Turned out, sitting on the patio was a mistake. The other two spaces cooled more and sooner than did the patio. My party ordered two different absinthes, a cocktail, and a glass of red wine, all delicious. The absinthe service is always fun. A special little ceremony. Our dishes were a mixed bag. Mussels-- sweet, tender, in a wine sauce worthy of being sopped up by every last morsel of grilled bread served with the tasty mollusks. Pasta in duck ragu-- the gentleman who ordered this dish thought the wide noodles themselves were sumptuous, but was disappointed that the sauce contained no duck meat. Chicken cordon Bleu-- a big hit with the teen who ordered it. Two generously sized pieces of tender chicken, rolled and filled with ham and cheese, all packaged into a very, very crispy coating. He also loved the accompanying pureed potatoes. Baramundi-- pleasant enough for the couple who shared it, but not memorable. They were especially pleased that the chef attended to their need to dine gluten free. Lamb ribs-- delectable. The serving of two tender chops arrived perfectly medium rare, just as I had requested. A light hand with seasoning showcased the flavor of the chops. There was no complimentary sparkling wine or dessert as we had enjoyed in the past when celebrating a birthday, which would have been a nice touch, but our main interest was the quality of the dishes we ordered. Our service was very good at times, AWOL at others. Because of the heat? I'll probably never know. Fortunately, extremely hot weather is rare here in San Diego, but I'd suggest that, since this restaurant is so reliant on walled-in roofless dining spaces, they consider closing for the duration of any future heat waves should they occur. It's difficult to enjoy a fine dining meal when the staff is so uncomfortable that their performance is sub-par, and the dining environment is dramatically uncomfortable. I'm still awarding 4 stars, but just barely.

They only had a table for 5 but we ended up having 6 people in our party. They were so kind to be able to accommodate the additional person! They had personalized menus that greeted my party and it wished my friends a happy birthday!! They actually got to take the menus home! This was really a nice touch, I appreciated the details. We family-styled everything which is honestly the way to go so everybody can try a little of everything! It was majority of our party's first time dining there. We started off with some drinks, I got the Non-alcoholic Guava Mocktail and I got to try what was the equivalent to an espresso martini too. Definitely liked the guava drink better because it tasted like guava nectar juice (kind of like Kerns or Jumex). The Expresso Martini had fresh mint in it and it tasted earthy which wasn't my cup of tea. For food we started off with the Heirloom Tomato Salad which was DELICIOUS!! I don't know what they put in the Vietnamese Green Goddess (probably fish sauce since all the dishes basically had this) but it was magnificent and one of my favorite dishes of the night. Then the Scallops and the Black Cod came out. The Scallops came in a set of 3 and we cut them in half so we could all have a taste. The sauce on this was DIVINE!!! It was citrusy but still really flavorful bursting with umami. I'm literally starting to drool reminiscing about it xD We wanted to keep it to use on other dishes because it was so good. The Black Cod was also delicious. It had fried skin attached and a sesame soy glaze. Next up came the Beef Tartare and the Wagyu Steak. The Beef Tartare was probably the least flavorful out of everything we ordered, but it was still well seasoned. My friend said it was really spicy but it might have just been her bite because I didn't think it was spicy at all. I like that the give you the option of leafy greens or shrimp chips to eat it with. The Wagyu though, was an all-star dish. It was the crowd favorite for sure, we all enjoyed not only the steak but the picked baby eggplants that come with it, and the sauce was phenomenal!! Lastly came the Dry Aged Duck which is what they're known for. It was definitely the biggest fish out of all. You were able to eat the duck with two different sauces, one they called a "Fish Sauce Chimichurri" and "Vietnamese XO sauce" which is more so satay. My friends liked the XO sauce but I liked the Chimichurri better. They had actually forgotten about the side of Buttered Rice but I was told it was incredibly flavorful on its own so we still asked for it. It had more than just butter in it, there was dried shrimp and sesame seeds, and it was made with coconut milk or something because it had a sweet but savory taste to it. I saved some of my duck and Wagyu to eat with it which was actually pretty good. Overall I liked that they brought out the dishes from lightest to heaviest and especially after they brought out out 2 sides of Buttered Rice we were all satisfied and full. It was the perfect amount of food. Honestly EVERY dish was different but amazingly dank and I think it's the fish sauce in everything. They were also sweet and kept the cake we brought in the fridge, placed the candles on it for us, and even after we sang they cut the cake for us!! 10/10 would recommend coming here for not only the food but the impeccable service!! Since we had a larger party there's an automatic 20% gratuity already added to the bill, which came out to be $555! (Look at that angel number!)

The waiter was patient and led us through what my father could and couldn't eat with his allergies. My 11 year old loved the mini burger. Presentation was excellent. They were nice enough to serve everything on the side for her. She loved the fresh crisped rosemary potato chips on the side. Some standouts from tapas menu are patatas bravas with crispy cheese covered potatoes with two dipping sauces (aioli and spicy) and of course the award winning soup earned its place in the menu. Waitstaff and service are outstanding. Plenty of menu options. Wine list is great and they led us to pick a lovely bottle. Definitely a fine dining option that was a great choice for my dad to try food better than he can get at home, as he requested. (Father approved. We had already visited outstanding restaurants like Muzita and Buona Forchetta). Adding Wolf in the Woods to my impress the guests list.
