The food here is fresh, delicious, and healthy. Though a bit expensive, the size of the salad will more than make up for what you spend. I love the combo deal with the sundance salad and turkey artichoke pesto flatini. Sooo good. I usually come during lunch for to go orders, which always takes at least 20 minutes. So take a friend or something to entertain yourself while you wait! Gets pretty loud when it's busy, so I really just come for the food. read more

My husband and I had a terrible dining experience when we visited this restaurant this past year. We were excited to dine there because we had heard such good things. I ordered soup and he ordered a flat bread sandwich. It is the kind of restaurant where you pay up front and they bring the food to your table. When our plates arrived, his plate had a PUBIC HAIR on it. We were both disgusted and neither of us wanted to eat our food, as it was obvious that the food had been prepared in an unsanitary and unhygienic way. We went to the counter with our untouched plates, explained the situation, and asked for a refund. The girl at the counter refused and said she would only give a refund for his food, since mine was without pubic hair. We explained that neither of us wished to eat our food, as the pubic hair pretty much turned us off to eating anything from that kitchen. She still refused, though neither of us touched our food. We asked to speak to a supervisor, but apparently there was not one there. We were shocked that the girl was so incredibly snotty to us and that she refused to give a refund for both of our meals. (We were also shocked about the pubic hair.) We realized that we were not getting our money back, and we accepted the loss and went across the street for tacos at taco del mar where they have great customer service and you get to watch them make the food. I would not recommend Croutons to anyone, as I do not wish them to get sick from unsanitary food preparations, and because of the rude, poorly trained staff. If refusing to give a refund for uneaten food of suspect cleanliness is company policy, it's a bad policy. read more

Not that great. The wait for two small (brown menu) salads after placing the order was 23 minutes. The counter boy couldn't read the menu which said something like "any two brown menu items for $7.95" and charged us the standard price instead of the "two for" price. The parking is a joke. The salad was brown and wilted and the pear on mine was green not ripe. The garbanzo beans were undercooked and beat up looking, and I ended up throwing half of the small salad away after picking out the bad stuff... There are better choices in Bend in my opinion, and I won't be going back. read more

This restaurant is a study in contradictions. First...the good. The salads are quite good. fresh, good quality vegetables, and nice salad dressing. Well done! Alas...the problems! The restaurant and restrooms are unacceptably dirty. The staff are not addressing the floor, the tables, or the restrooms. This problem gets to be significant during busy periods. Students from local schools often arrive en masse and overwhelm the capabilities of the facility. More staff with better tools and better management will be required to correct these issues. I surely hope corrections will be made to preserve this restaurant. read more

I ordered the regular Balsamic Chicken salad for lunch the other day and when it got to my table it was about twice the size that I was expecting, which was awesome! I hadn't eaten for quite sometime and I was hungry with a capital STARVING. The girl behind the counter was friendly and polite. The food was fast to my table and the salad itself was good. They give you the option of ordering the dressing on the side which is nice, but I declined and had them toss it in. I found the salad to be only slightly over dressed but not inedible or even off putting... That's my only complaint. Excellent salad for the price. read more

I love Croutons. I always get a sandwich and salad combo and it's always excellent. 4 stars because the food is great. The service can be a little slow when they're busy and it can be near impossible to get a table during the lunch rush, but the wait is worth it. I don't like to review a business poorly, especially not one that I consider one of my favorites... but I just had a pretty rotten experience at the Eastside Croutons. My organization places 6-8 catering orders at Croutons every year (close to $200 each time). I know this place is going to be slammed at lunch time, so I always make sure to place the order mid-late afternoon. I went in at 3pm today. I waited in line for several minutes. I went up and ordered a sandwich and then said I'd like to place a catering order as well. As I did this, about 5 other people walked in to order. (The catering order literally takes 2 minutes to place and it's on a piece of paper, not in the computer system, so I didn't even think about them being inconvenienced - especially since there were two people behind the counter and only one at a register). The girl at the register called over to her manager (at least I assume she was the manager) and said, "She has a catering order." The manager comes over and says, "We need to help these other people first." I said, "Uhhh, sure?? Really?" Apparently... I did not just wait in line to place an order. (sarcasm). The manager doesn't seem to care and actually starts taking the other peoples orders. The other girl is not doing anything anymore. So, the manager kicked her off the register to help the other people and waited to take my catering order... I don't even get it. Then when my sandwich was done, she slams it down on the counter causing the order number to fly off the counter and hit me...She didn't thank me for either order or ask if I needed anything else... A business can be awesome, but if you have rude employees, have fun keeping your business going. It will take a lot to get me back to the Eastside location ever again for catering or just for picking up a salad for dinner. Three stars because their food is amazing.... just go to the westside location so you actually get good service too. read more

Good food! You can taste the freshness. I had The Southwest sandwich and it was orgasmic! It was a good size sandwich too... my gf and I were able to share it and a bag of chips and we were good. I love Croutons! They have the best food, great clean atmosphere and the staff is always very friendly. I drop by several nights a week after work and they prepare my food quickly. My favorite salad is the BBQ Chicken. The Choose Two is also great. Recently they have served a new soup I believe is called Super Chicken and it's amazing! It's broth based with kale, chicken breast, and lots of other healthy ingredients. If you're visiting Bend, you should give Croutons a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Went in for takeout tonight for dinner. My MIL ordered a salad with blue cheese dressing and I ordered a Margherita Chicken panini. Got home to eat it. My MIL's blue cheese was very runny. My sandwich wasn't at all what I ordered. It was a decent sandwich still, but not even close to what I ordered. So disappointed. read more

The salads are usually pretty good. Today, my pear salad was huge but mostly lettuce...a lot of lettuce. The reason I'm really doing this review is that Croutons on Greenwood Ave was extremely cold today! I don't think there was any heat. The concrete floors and plastic chairs that felt like they came out of the walk-in freezer didn't help. The atmosphere looks cold and is cold. Once my nose started running and the finger tips were turning blue, it was time to leave. I hope they do something to warm the place up a bit. read more

I was excited to check out a salad restaurant, as I was craving a healthy meal. The service (ordering) was friendly, I just wasn't very impressed with the food. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and it was just O.K., it was nothing special. The chicken was cut up in little cubes and the presentation was unremarkable. Went here for the first time and had a wonderful salad and turkey chili. Generous portion size for a small salad. Very fresh, well made and anyone looking for a great soup and salad place needs to come here. My friend had a panini sandwich which was generous in filling. So, I want to start by saying we really enjoy croutons, we've been here many many times and have enjoyed it most times. If you ever get a chance to try their Corn Chowder, don't pass it down! However, it is best to not go here when they are within 15 minutes of closing. I ordered the Californian, which I have many times before; sourdough bread, Swiss cheese, bacon, turkey and avocado.... It looked like my 6 year old made it, there was ONE slice of meat, ONE very small "clump" of cheese, practically no avocado two 1/2 slices of bacon. The bacon covered less than 1/4 of the sandwich, we asked them it they could remake it because it was lacking on all departments. The woman up front was very nice and said of course, however when I got it back all they had done was add ONE more slice of meat.... Nothing else. It tasted poorly, and looked even more unpleasant. Moral of the story, stay away from the Greenwood Croutons, go to Redmond or the one on Century! read more
