We tried to fill the space, we called them repeatedly. Finally I sent them this legal info on their responsibility to find a replacement. They finally started helping us out and found someone - but that was six months of unnecessary stress. I found the whole thing quite predatory and greedy. I don't think most new tenants read the whole of the lease agreement and realize what they are agreeing to. They make the contract so long and wordy it would take about two hours to read it through thoroughly. Be careful people. Read the fine print.

So they really don't know who comes and goes. Anyway within a week my expensive e bikes ( heavily locked solid) bikes have been stolen both of them so now I am out $1,800 on E bikes and not too happy. I was told by front office mgmt that there's been no problems with the bike room and no theft. Ive been told by security that was a lie. I now feel very violated abd can't trust anyone

They changed front office staff in last few months and new ones have appeared to have "oh well" attitude about things (perhaps hands are tied due to big company mgmt?) though are superficially nice. Tried to communicate about particular challenge and the office manager left a vm with no offer to discuss further. Asst manager was snappy upon arrival and move in saying she didn't know details of move, since previous staff "rotated to different property." Apartment is beautiful with large, dbl paned windows, nice flooring, nice counters in bathroom/kitchen. Terrible stove and dishwasher (esp dishwasher). Sound insulation could be better but 90% good! Decent gym. Pool area good for families and is busy in a nice way--ppl having fun. Ppl seem friendly. When there isn't noise from construction (nights, weekends) it is super quiet on the property and nice neighborhood and small walking park nearby. Maintenance folks seem very nice. Did do recent annual inspection. Sent out notices in advance. Despite requests, Front office would not offer a time window for when the inspection might happen (over period of 2 days), making working from home difficult. "oh well" The few email communications, staff haven't seemed to really answer the question being asked or don't seem open to working out a solution. Again, maybe this is due more in part to having a multi property corporation manage the prop? I don't know. This is a great place overall when things are going well. It is a nice property with nice folks. Given all the apartment competition and prices these days, it's good enough for now.

They sent us a letter telling us to quit feeding the cats outdoors--which we had never done-- and cited us for parking backwards--which we did do. It's safer! We tried to be perfect tenants and were rewarded by receiving an eviction notice because my bank screwed up the bill pay over Christmas/New Years (I can prove this). An advisory phone call would have been nice, rather than waiting until they could slap on the $100 late fee. That's when I decided to move! The unit I rented was in Eugene near Autzen Stadium, and in that two-year period, we experienced shootings across the street, a stabbing in the next apartment building, a bum sleeping under the outside stairs, an attempted car break-in and someone trying to get in through the bedroom window. The empty apartment upstairs flooded, which filled the light fixtures and ran down the walls. A broken window opening mechanism was never repaired. The icing on the cake was when we moved out, I inadvertently left two bags with recyclable cans and a small shelf sitting beside the door. A phone call would have been nice, but instead the management wrote me a letter, giving them many days to reap the "abandoned goods" clause ($50) and $30/day storage fee for eight days, which they deducted from my deposit. Where's the humanity? I will say that the maintenance staff was extremely responsive and helpful. The office staff is pleasant and well-meaning, but they are marching to the beat of the greedy corporate office of Norris & Stevens. My recommendation is to rent from them only if you have no other choice!

Its quiet, the apartments are spacious, management is picky, and as a result there is a huge waiting list that goes past a year. I know they have requirements for income, age, and certain statuses that usually keep flaky students from being able to apply. A few friends of mine live here now, most of them say that the management is good and the place is overly quiet. Having visited them here a few times, I have to say that they've got their act together and parking is never an issue. Security is fabulous and they do a good job of holding down the fort during football games. Most of all, the apartments are good, spacious, and clean. I would have loved to live here but getting into here is almost as good as winning the local lottery. Cheaper rent doesn't always account for easy access.

After being closed for 6 months now, still told it will take longer. I think they built faster then that. Someone broke into it and now we are told it will take even longer to open. The community is getting punished, because of some bad apples. Just sad and getting frustrated. I hope they know how crazy it is to have that great asset and not be able to use it. Different cars and people in and out.I solved the pot issue myself but eventually they were forced to leave I think with major work needing to be done on the dwelling. lumber out, new lumber in! it appeared that some apartments were party places with excessive noise. my husband passed away after three years and after another year or so I decided to move. to my surprise the corporation kept all of my 800.00 deposit plus billed me for 200,00 more. I fell once hitting my head on a hollow core door causing repairable damage. the two bedrooms had carpet (cheap grade apartment style short shag. I was responsible for rug cleaning. i found the carpet to roll because of poor stretching installation. looked bad. the other bedroom carpet had a few pet stains but also just a lot of wear marks for being nearly five years old. in other wards I was overly charged for depressiated carpet that would need replacement anyway. It seems the "good" residents get overcharged to assist with property that is damaged excessively by other residents . Forget pleading your case because Greystar is a giant corporation. Fairness does not exist. Do not expect any return of your deposits. The office staff were "distant" for the most part. A couple of exceptions while we were there. Elizabeth was delightful and had a handle on people skills. The property manager was seldom seen. I think it would have been nice to see her out and about more often. This complex needs to upgrade their dealings with residents to compete with so many new structures now the Eugene area.

Over the two years I was there my rent increased about $500, to the point where moving into a house was cheaper than living here. They said at one point that we would have to start paying for water, but it never actually got implemented during my time there. I paid for internet (CenturyLink, but Xfinity was also available if you truly hate life) and electric on my own and water was a $55/mo flat fee. The gym was available at all hours but I never actually went to it so I can't comment on it. The people in the office were always nice. Jesse was the leasing manager until he left a year or so ago. He was always very nice and quick to answer questions. Morgan and Evie were there when I left and they were both very nice as well. The maintenance folks were nice and usually pretty quick to respond to requests. There were fun events run throughout the year that encouraged community bonding but I never participated because I have pretty bad social anxiety. The apartment itself is where my issues lie. I was on the top floor, which meant it got really hot over the summer. The air conditioning unit in the kitchen didn't do much on those hot days, especially in the bedroom which is on the opposite side of the apartment, directly down the hall from the kitchen. The walls are very thin, and for the first time I experienced hearing my downstairs neighbors walking around. It was so bad that I could hear what room they were in just from their footsteps. The slamming of the front doors in the building was also very loud and continued even after management sent an email saying to not do that. It seemed like every single sound made in the building could be heard in my unit. You get one assigned uncovered parking spot assigned to you and there is some guest parking, but it fills up quickly after 5pm. There was a guy who always parked in the guest parking area who would remote start his red Dodge Charger every morning around 6:30am and let it sit running its loud engine for about half an hour before he got in and revved away. Several other loud or unmuffled cars in the area did the same. At one point I had neighbors in the building next door who would fight with their windows open and I could hear their screaming with my windows and doors closed. I really never knew peace in this place. When I moved out, the process was easy enough. Sign the lease termination and move out. Did not need to hire carpet cleaners despite what the lease said, which was great because I've seen every single apartment get brand new carpet between residents and I wasn't about to pay to clean carpet that would just be trashed anyway. I didn't get my security deposit back for over a month and had to call multiple times to check on the status of it, but I did get the full amount returned which was good. Overall this was a fine apartment to live in, especially considering it was my first time ever living on my own. I had lived in an apartment with a friend before so I wasn't unfamiliar with what it was like, but this did teach me that I don't want to live in an apartment again if I can avoid it.

Tall building with a view in Eugene? Yeah, there aren't too many of those but Lane Towers has one…read moreof the best ones in town. My wife and I shopped around for apartments in Campus/Downtown/ SE area for quite awhile before we stumbled on this "little" gem. I don't know what I thought the building would be like but it turned out to be perfect for us. The rent is relatively cheap for how much square footage you get. The finishes and design are a little funky. Oldschool metal windows that don't shut very well or stay open properly but do allow in tremendous light and views. Carpeting and concrete walls are all bright white. Upgrades seem to vary from apartment to apartment and nothing is super nice. The apartment manager's name is Gary and I think he's been here forever. You can see him out front on a nice day in his lawn chair or leaving after work on his Harley. I don't know how he does it but he knows everyone in the building by name and always has a kind word when he sees you. This is even more impressive because there are over a hundred units in the building with a fairly regular turnover of college kids and such. The demographics of the building are fairly broad. There are quite a few older retirees and a bunch of college students but there are also a number blue collar and professional types. Most everyone seems pretty friendly from what I can tell. There is always people moving in and out of the building but I think that is more of a reflection of Eugene than anything else.

It's nice being located near downtown and the University. It really is in an ideal spot. All the tenants are friendly and many people have lived here for at least a few years. I'd attribute that to the reasons I listed above. I highly recommend Lane Tower.

I had lived downtown previously and there was a lot of crime as well as loud college students. We didn't have problems with noise at the Tennyson until the end when we moved out. Some bro type guys moved in next to us and started having loud parties, other than that it was good. The Tennyson was a short drive from the school and right next to several bus stops. I just had to walk across the street. As a UO student the bus is free so you can just hop on any bus going by and it generally takes about 20-30 min to get to school or back. I also liked how close the Tennyson was to Costco (walking distance) and a very short drive to the shopping center in Springfield with Target etc. The price was a little steep for me at the time. I shared a corner unit town-home 1 bedroom with my boyfriend. The price was totally worth it though! I will forever think back fondly to my time at the Tennyson. Everything was brand new and high quality. The color choices made for the interior were beautiful. I loved the orangish-brown of the flooring. We were only the second people to have lived in the apartment and it was still in great condition. The area was really safe. The bike storage was broken into at one point, but that is Eugene. Bikes aren't safe in Eugene generally (actually I forgot my bikes/equipment in the bike storage at the Tennyson when I moved. Hopefully they're still there some day when I go back to Oregon :O ). If there was anything weird about the apartment it was just that the only bathroom for the 1 bedroom townhouse is in the room upstairs. This makes it a little weird if you have friends over or if you get home and you have to pee really bad. The pool was really nice. It's heated year round unlike some other pools in the area that are only open during summer. There is also a nice spa. The staff was very good. We really liked Dallas (it seemed like he had left right before we moved out). They did free beer in the club house once a week. I would highly recommend the Tennyson! At the time I lived there the price seemed crazy, but now I am living in LA where studios are around $2000 so it doesn't seem bad at all.

Being close to the park, Costco, and WinCo is super convenient, but that's about where the positives end. You definitely don't get what you pay for. The exterior is beautiful and well-kept (which is honestly why I moved in), but that's just surface-level. Since living here, my car's been broken into, a bush outside caught fire and almost spread to my apartment, and I was even attacked by a dog on the property. My washer didn't work for over a month, and when they replaced it, the new one was half the size -- now I can only do half a load of laundry at a time. The insulation is terrible; upstairs turns into an oven in the summer, easily hitting 110°. No number of fans will fix it. For over 2k a month, I expect better. If I were paying less, maybe I'd overlook some things, but at this price, it's ridiculous. Do not take an apartment near the dumpsters either -- the homeless are there every single day digging through the trash. And the spiders... I've never seen so many in my life. There are cracks along the baseboards and around the doors, so they just keep getting in. It's disgusting killing spiders daily. My roof also leaked, so my second bathroom was out of commission for almost two months -- and of course, no rent discount for that. To be fair, the staff here have been great and always try to help. I don't blame them -- the real issue is with ownership. They're charging luxury prices for apartments that feel like they were built in the '80s and never updated properly. I could honestly list 20 more problems, but I'm too tired to keep typing. Bottom line: save your money. You'll regret moving here. Go for something cheaper, even if it's not as "pretty" on the outside.
