But with the summer heat in North Carolina, about the last thing you want not working in your vehicle is the air conditioning. I read the glowing reviews of Choice Auto Care on Yelp, and elsewhere, and decided to give them a shot. I am glad I did. Don was quick to get me in, and then out, and the job was done right - and VERY timely. He reminded me of my long-time mechanic from when I lived in South Florida. In fact, the two could almost be twins. It's a little further in distance than I usually go - in fact, I can walk to my 'regular' guy - but I highly suggest Don and the staff at CAC. It is never enjoyable having to get certain repairs done, but if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars for a fix, it's nice to know places exist that will do the job right, and not screw you over trying to upsell and still give great customer service. It's easy to make an appointment and everyone is really nice there. I appreciate their feedback and never feel like they're trying to take advantage of me. I even asked about adding a hitch to my car and they referred me to Uhaul saying it would be a better price because they do that more frequently. That impressed me! The reason this review is a four star and not a five star is due to them applying a real sticker to the inside of the windshield after an oil change. Not like one of those plastic decals that is easily removed but a legit sticker with glue. I got an oil change some months back and they applied a sticker that was a real B to get off! I have all my interior windows tinted with a ceramic coating - including my windshield - so I don't want anything on my windows that could damage them. I was lucky to be able to easily get the sticker off with minimal glue residue but I handled it immediately. Had I let my car sit in the sun even for a day the glue would have adhered to the window and I would have had to use chemicals which could have damaged my tint. I had forgotten about the sticker until yesterday. I referred my best friend to Carfix and she was stoked with their great service. However, after we picked her car up she saw the sticker. I tried to help her get the sticker off but it was seared onto the window peeling in little bits leaving paper and glue and not coming off. She had to take a razor to her windshield to get it off - something I cannot do because of the tint. Ultimately, I'm not sure why they believe it's a good idea to apply a real sticker to the inside windshield when it'll sit and bake in the sun making the sticker virtually impossible to remove. It's also pretty presumptuous someone even wants a sticker applied to their car in the first place. Honestly, I always peel the oil change decals off cause I don't need to be reminded of when to get an oil change and I don't want that ugly sticker in my face when I drive. They might want to consider another option or ask if someone would want a sticker on their windshield in the first place. Other than that, they're great! So if you go for an oil change, you might want to let them know if you don't want the sticker on your window if this is a practice they're going to continue.

The pictures included arrows pointing to various parts, along with recommendations and explanations, but the parts shown did not appear visibly worn or damaged in the photos. In several instances, the same type of recommendation and explanation was provided for different components without clearly showing or explaining what specifically was wrong with each part, what condition it was expected to be in, or why replacement was necessary at that time. I appreciate the effort to document the vehicle with pictures, but simply identifying a component and recommending replacement did not provide me with the level of detail I would have expected to understand whether the work was necessary. A diagnostic was provided at no charge, which I appreciated. However, I did not find the diagnostic detailed enough to fully understand or substantiate the recommendations provided. The actual service recommendations and pricing raised additional concerns. I was quoted significantly more for parts and labor than what I was able to find elsewhere, and additional parts and services were recommended that were not part of the service I originally requested and did not appear, based on the information provided, to be directly related to the issue I brought the vehicle in for. When I explained that I had found the requested service at a lower price, I was still strongly encouraged to proceed with Car Fix's recommendation because the part wouldn't be fixed correctly. I understand that a professional shop may identify additional concerns during an inspection and should bring those to a customer's attention. However, there is a difference between informing a customer of potential maintenance and strongly recommending additional work, particularly when I clearly stated what service I came in for. I provided the quote from a 2nd mechanic and was told "I cant do that. There will be parts missing". No flexibility in cost or repair work. For me, the combination of outrageously higher-than-expected pricing, additional recommendations, and the pressure to authorize services made the experience difficult to justify. I would have preferred clearer evidence showing the actual condition of each recommended part. I would encourage anyone considering Car Fix to get a detailed written estimate, ask specifically what is necessary versus recommended, and compare parts and labor pricing before authorizing additional work.

This so called family business is run by teenagers pretending to be mechanics. My mechanic is a 22…read moreyear old kid, who completely wrecked my install of bearings. He bent my wheel studs on a brand new hub, on bith front wheels. He damaged my knuckle that and ruined brand new rooters. Not to mention they do not use torque wrenches ir cotter pins. They lie and finally admit there errors when cornered. At the end of the installation the kid actually took a hammer and repeatedly kept banging on the knuckle to bend it back. My car is now wobbling, now it's Grinding and the wheel shakes. AVOID THIS PLACE . even the owner us 27 has a pocket of reasons to cover his ass. SERIOUSLY NOT WORTH letting them work on anything oil changes and car inspections maybe. But roughly $2500 to fix everything they broke.
