I first met Judith Pierce in 1994 when I was 17 years old…read more I was shopping for a grad dress with my mother in White Rock and we went into a little dress shop who had nothing I like. When we left Judith (who was also shopping) told my mother she was opening up a store and if we wanted to we could go back to her house and look through catalogues and she would order the dresses I liked for me to try on. As I was going through the catalogues, I came across a wedding dress and told her to order it for me because I wanted to get married in it, she laughed and said it was a bit too formal for my event but to keep looking. Anyway, I picked out a few dresses and she ordered them. When they arrived, she brought them to my house and I tried on about 5 dresses before making my selection. Overall a very good experience (my younger sister also bought her grad dress there 3 years after me and Judith helped her as well) In 2000, my girlfriend was engaged (as was I) and made an appointment for us to try on dresses at The Drawing Room. We went in and Judith remembered me as her very first customer and helped me pick out a few dresses. When I came out in the first dress she told me, "That's just like the one you picked out when you were 17 from the catalogue, do you remember?" I did and was married in that dress, which I still love all these years later. After almost 15 years, I still remember my dress experiences with Judith and would recommend the Drawing Room to anyone. I had no problems and would go there again if the occasion ever called for it.

At first, I was hesitant to tell her what I don't like about a dress she had me try on but she coached me to be honest so she can help me find the one. Not once did she pressure me into making a decision. She was very understanding when I was nervous about being "too picky". She had me try on a dress I knew immediately would show my unflattering curves but I wanted to be open. She saw right away without me saying anything I hated it. She chose her words very carefully without bringing my weight and body into it. Very discreet and professional. My appointment was at the end of the day and we were there until 6pm (way past their closing time). I felt so bad but the ladies didn't rush me at all while I was getting measured and paying. I wish I had all day to try on more dresses it was so much fun. Thank you Bridal Gallery and Deanna for making my one and only dress appointment so special and memorable. My entourage had a great time as well!

I was very clear about my wedding date and travel schedule, only to later be informed that my dress would not be ready on time. I signed for a specific size, then received a text stating that the size I had signed for was unavailable. At that point, they had to contact the designer, which meant the dress would not meet the deadline I had clearly communicated. I agreed to this, though I felt I had little choice. When I returned to the store for alterations, I fully expected to pay for them. However, the cost was nearly a third of the price of the dress. The alterations were quite simple; hemming the dress to my height, adjusting the sleeves, and adding an underlining to the corset, which made the price even more disappointing. Overall, this experience was extremely stressful. The dress I received appeared used and dirty, and now I have to walk down the aisle with a very bitter feeling attached to what should have been a joyful moment. Sadly, after my purchase, I discovered that other reviewers have reported similar issues.

I was asked for photos and given a quote for 2 options. less expensive option cut lace, sew scalloped edging back on. Second much more expensive option was to remove skirt and hem from the waist, not easy as there are 2 layers and a zipper. Daughter chose the less expensive option. When we picked up the dress Lilianne had made the executive decision to hem from the waist as she felt that cutting the lace would interrupt the pattern too much. We were not charged for the upgrade. Other local seamstress suggested my daughter wear higher heels. No way we could add another 4 inches to her already high heels.

There had been a blog post online and the author had shared how great their experience was, so I decided to give it a shot! For context: this is my first time getting anything fitted and tailored. Lilianne was so wonderful in answering my questions and giving honest and non-judgmental feedback about what would be a good fit for my body type. She was also very upfront about the turnaround time which I appreciated so much. Definitely going to be a returning customer!

The…read moreother reviews here seem quite outdated and the staff at Lisa's were very kind and professional during my visits. At my first appointment, I got to try on a variety of dresses and my bridal consultant Tatiane had pulled several dresses for me ahead of time based on my preferences. She also offered a lot of helpful feedback and tips of what to look for in a dress and what modifications can be made. I'm very indecisive and I felt that Tatiane did an excellent job of guiding me towards finding my ideal dress. Communication after my appointment was also very prompt when I requested more information about the dresses I liked. When I finally decided on my dress, Tatiane was kind enough to put it on hold until my appointment to go try it again. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Lisa's. I especially liked the large variety of dresses they carry and I'm very happy to have found my dress off the rack so I don't have to worry about ordering. Hopefully the alterations go smoothly as well!

Yesterday I was in new Westminster with a friend and my fiancé, visiting the food truck festival…read more We walked by Lisa's Bridal Salon, which prompted me to exclaim how much I hate that place. In 2002, I made the biggest mistake of my life: I got married. (I have since gotten a divorce.) I was young and stupid, and it being my first wedding, I was doing all the traditional wedding things, such as wedding dress shopping. My bridesmaids and I went to New West to start my wedding dress search. We walked into Lisa's Bridal Salon, which was empty, and were met with disgust and distain, and told with a snotty attitude that we needed an appointment. (Uh, what's wrong with walking in TO make an appointment?!) We told the rude woman that we were looking for wedding dresses, and the second she heard the word "wedding", she treated us like royalty. We booked an appointment and came back an hour or so later. When we arrived, the store was still empty except for a couple of teenagers (who were in no way being obnoxious) finishing up with their prom dress purchases. When they left, the woman made a rude comment about them (I no longer remember what, but I recall the incident). Clearly she had no respect for customers, unless they were purchasing wedding dresses, which was the reason why we were treated so shabbily when we initially walked in -- she assumed we were teenagers wanting to purchase a $300 prom dress instead of a $3000 wedding dress. Anyway, not only were the dresses quite expensive, but they were ugly. There wasn't one dress that appealed to me, and when I told the woman what I was looking for/what style I liked, she pressured me to try on dresses I had no interest in (back then, as a kid barely out of high school with no self-esteem, I wasn't very assertive). She also barged in on me as I was changing, and forced an ugly dress on me, scratching my arms with all the gaudy beading adorning the dress. So, to summarize, I hate Lisa's because: 1. The employees there were fucking rude, treating their customers like shit unless they were buying a wedding dress. 2. The sales woman I dealt with was pushy and wouldn't listen to my preferences, and didn't respect people's boundaries. 3. The dresses were ugly and very expensive. I didn't buy a dress there, obviously, and instead, I bought a dress from a nearby store, for $400, from a person who didn't treat me like garbage or judge me and make assumptions based on my appearance. Even though this incident happened 16 years ago, I still remember, and I certainly will NOT buy a wedding dress from there for my upcoming wedding in November. [Yelp collections: Rude!]
