I bought a dress from this shop for my son's wedding. I was happy with the dress and the service but the owner did say that alterations were included and when I picked the dress up she charged me more for the alterations, stating that there were more than they expected :( Based on this I'd say to beware if you are buying from this place. read more

Very dishonest business. They told us they would do all alterations by a certain date. I called to confirm the alternations were done before picking up but when I got to the store they were not all done. Then they tried to charge us more for the alterations they originally agreed on doing. Look out for that hulking european woman seamstress and her asian counterpart. Quite shifty. read more

I was wedding dress shopping and feeling discouraged as I wanted a beautiful dress but really didn't want to break the bank. Bliss had so many gorgeous dresses for great prices. There was a huge selection and I loved the staff. They were so helpful and answered every question I had. They could also alter and adjust just about anything. I didn't have $1500+ to spend on a new dress. I didn't care if it was new, anyways, as long as I liked it enough to wear for one day and look at pictures of forever. This is a consignment store, so you can buy a used dress. Most of the dresses I tried on were $500~$1000. Even if money is not your problem, this is one solution if you are short on time and can't preorder your size 3~6 months ahead, like the manufacturers of new ones insist. They have dresses sorted by size, so you can find yours easily (or decide to go look at larger sizes if you are willing to splurge on alterations). I believe they only buy designs from the previous 2 years, so nothing is really old or out of style (not that I would have known...). I found the perfect dress! It was a corset-type lace-up, so I didn't even need any alterations (and it had a 'modesty panel' so your back isn't showing through the ribbon). And it had a matching shawl! and a matching purse :) They do have photos of some dresses on the website, but it is the best to go, since there is only 1 of each dress, and you never know if the site's been updated since someone purchased it or they got a new dress in. After you choose your dress and pay 50% deposit, they will dry clean it for you, included in the price. They also offered to steam the crinkles out of your dress a few days before the wedding, if you bring it back in. (I don't live too close, so I didn't take them up on that offer, but I think it was included in the purchase price as well). read more

I had a really horrible experience at this store and I hope I was an exception to the rule. I went here with two of my friends (the maid of honour and the bride - I was another bridesmaid) to look for a bridesmaid's dress. We picked one (that the bride really liked) and were told we had to get measured for it. SO we all got measured- I would like to preface the following with I am a street size 8 /bridal size 10.... When they measured me they told me I was disproportionate and was a size 16 according to their charts. They then proceeded to tell me I may have to purchase extra fabric ($50+ dollars) to cover my backside. This would have been acceptable if they had said any of this information in a respectful way but instead they spoke in front of me about me and my body without acknowledging my presence. When I told them I was getting offended and they needed to stop they ignored me and continued to body shame me. Finally I snapped and said that I was only buying the dress because my friend was getting married and they needed to take my money before I completely lost it. They looked surprised and quickly rang me through. When I went to get the dress it was absolutely massive and now I have to spend 100$ more on getting it taken in... the dress itself is poorly made and cost me $300 so I now have a $400 bridesmaid dress! I am pretty easy going- I know my body type and I am pretty confident. Thank God I don't suffer from low self-esteem because after I left I was sorely tempted to jump off the pier- they turned what should have been a nice day in to a pretty miserable one. They never apologized for the tone, the condescension or the belittling nature of their interactions with me and it has truly turned me off... I will never go back here. read more

I walked into this store hoping to be able to look at their bridal collection as their website said that no appointments were necessary. I asked the lady at the front desk about their bridal stuff and she was "surprised" that I had not booked in an appointment and insisted that I needed one to be able to look at their bridal stuff. She said that there was no one available to help me so I asked if I could just have a look at the dresses, but she said I had to book in an appointment. I told her I wasn't sure when I would be free to come back to the area next, and she responded with a "You mean you're too busy to come back here?" I was so taken aback by the rude question that I just told her that I wasn't sure when I'd be in the area next and left the store. What kind of customer service is that?? read more

Sorry for the long post. Sept, 2012: My bf (at the time) and I was slowly walking around the bridal row to see if we can randomly look at some dresses for our future wedding. At that time our wedding date has not been set yet...AND he has not proposed to me yet (I haven't found my perfect ring yet so I told him to hold off). We just want to see how much we need to pay for a wedding gown since we know some are quite expensive. We walked in on a Friday. Most other stores we walked in gave us a really odd look when we said we have no appointment and we just want to take a look at their dresses. After walking in to a couple of the expensive stores across the street, we decided to walk into Bliss Consignment. The owner said I can't try on gowns, but we can walk around and take a look at what they have in store. I don't even know what size I am and I didn't know that gown size is different from street size. We walked around the store and we noticed a gown tucked in a little closet in the back of the store. Size 2 gown. I have no idea if I will fit. It looks pretty good from the bag. The owner happened to walk to the back of the store and she said since there's not too many customer in the store, she will help me fit in the gown. I slipped in the gown. It fits like a glove. Even the height is perfect. The gown has a long train, with lace and wonderful bead work. I don't know any bridal gown designers or anything, but the owner said I picked a really nice gown. It is a Maggie Sottero for $900. I said I'll think about it. I went home and did some research. Maggie Sottero is a big designer label. The gown is retailing at $2100 at the time. We went to a couple of other stores on Saturday to see what we can get with $900. No where near the quality of a Maggie. We decided to go back (my bf was the first one to say yes to the dress actually) and bought the dress. The owner agreed to help us store my dress until the time I get married. I am thrilled because I have no room in my home to store it. Price includes steam, spot clean, beaded work fix, garment bag. Feb, 2013: We finally found the rings that we wanted! Aug, 2013: He finally proposed! Oct, 2013: I was taking a train past New West and passengers pointed out that there was a fire in New West. I told my fiance about it in the afternoon and didn't think about it. The next afternoon he texted me "Hey, isn't that where your dress is?" OH NO. I started reading news about bridal stores getting burned down and brides having to find another dress. I started to panic and my pulse started to race. I kept calling the bridal shop, but all I'm getting is vmail. My fiance called me and let me know that he was able to get through. The owner told him that the store and the dresses are all fine. They are just flooded with calls from other brides so they can't answer calls quickly enough. PHEW!!! Nov, 2013: We stapled down our destination wedding dates. April, 2014: I booked an appointment to get a refitting on the dress to see if I need alterations. I was able to get same day appointment. I tried on the dress. No issues. I actually lost weight so the gown fit a little better than when I first tried it on. And no burnt smell. Owner is not there, but another older lady helped me with the dress. She quoted me $55 for the 4-point bustle. We paid it and left happy. May, 2014: Went back again after they did the bustle. It was nicely done. Lady said when we need the dress, just give them a call and they will steam it and I can pick up the dress. July, 2014: I called in to pick up my dress for my pre-wedding photos. I picked it up, but when I got home I noticed some beading work is too loose and one came off. I called the store and the owner answered. She said to bring it back and they will look through them all and fix any beading that needs to be fixed. I picked it up the same day and all the work is done as requested. All in all, I'm very happy with my experience with the store. How many stores are willing to help you store the gown for close to 2 years?!? My fiance and I are grateful for the free storage space. Future brides, please keep in mind that this is a consignment store, so they always have a rolling inventory. You may have to go back more than once to see what they have in store. I would suggest to go in around September or October when past brides sell their dresses. Some past brides take great care of their dresses, while others don't. Make sure you inspect the gown carefully. read more

I had a concern about my dress after buying it and she addressed the concern respectfully and in a timely manner... and afterwards went out of her way to help me. Pros: lots to choose from, and you can choose between ordering in a new dress (pricier) or browsing their consignment section in the back. No appointments necessary either. Cons: Most of their sample sizes were fairly small (6-8). Ideally a store should have larger sizes that will fit anyone, then they clip them at the back so you can see how it'd look in your size. Since a dress size 6 is closer to a street size 4 and I am about a street size 8, I had some troubles finding dresses I could actually try on. It was a little disheartening to try on dresses that I was too big for..even though I'm not that big! If you're a smaller girl it wouldn't be a problem but for me it put a damper on my experience at this store. Also if you're looking for very attentive service staff, don't expect it here. They do help, but more so just to check on you from time to time, and to try to close a sale. read more

I put my dress and veil in for consignment here. It took me e-mailing and asking to discover my dress had been sold. OK, not great customer service, but they still were going to pay me. I'd decided (my contract had lapsed) to get my veil back and keep it as a momento. I went in, was paid for the dress and handed a bag with 'my' veil. I'm glad I inspected it! The veil they gave me was a significantly cheaper veil than my $165 one that I'd consigned. When I told them it wasn't mine, they said 'oops! we'll "look" for it and send you a cheque if we can't find it". I sent them photos and the make and designer of the veil. They sent me a cheque. I doubt they even looked for it, and I am skeptical as to whether they weren't trying to scam me. In the end it's great I got a couple of dollars back but, given it was my wedding and I wanted a momento and the contract had lapsed, the fact that they couldn't even give me back what I'd originally consigned with them made me pretty upset. Not sure what the buyer experience is like, but I wouldn't trust them. read more

Had great experiences with trying on bridesmaids and wedding dresses for my friends wedding. I do not live in the area so I called to make an appointment to pickup my dress. I told them on the phone I wanted to try it on and would get it altered back home. When I arrived I noticed some wrinkles and the fabric wasn't sitting quite right. They said I could bring it back to be steamed! Why they didn't steam it in the first place?!?After I got my alterations back home I had to send the dress with the bride to get steamed. I put it on for the wedding and it doesn't even look like it was steamed at all. The bottom of the dress laid funny as it was not steamed. Not impressed with this service. It should have been done correctly before I even arrived to pick it up! read more

Bought a veil there, when I got home I found out the colour doesn't match and there was a hole. Called them to see if I can exchange for something else. An Asian accent lady was rude and very impolite. Kept rambling about receipt said no refund. I only ask if I can exchange or even pay more for different colour. I was very disappointed and choked to say the least when I consigned my dress at the store. My dress was in excellent condition and had been dry cleaned and box up after my wedding as my first thought was to keep it. I received a phone call from the store saying that they had a bride that was interested in the dress but I would have to pay half the cost to get it dry cleaned (which was $75) for her. I am sorry but as it is a second hand store, it should be "BUY AS IS". As I had previously paid $175 to get the dress dry clean already. As I could not go in to see the state of the dress, I asked them to send me a photograph of the reason for dry cleaning. They did and it was just a little bit darker on the under carriage of the train......I'm sorry it is a second hand dress, you are in a consignment store and no one will see that part of the dress. It will pick up stuff as soon at you take to steps in it anyway!!!! I also asked them to send me a photo of the dress once it had been dry cleaned so that I could see how much "cleaner" it was post cleaning. I never received one! I would advise you not to consign unless they have smartened up!!!! read more

On Monday, after trying on about 50 dresses, from 7 different stores on the new west strip. I SAID YES TO THE DRESS! first off the dress, to me, looks like it should cost much more, compared to all other dresses I tried on at a comparable price. I was on love with the dress right away, the only thing it was missing way a pop of color I was hoping for. Well they can fix that with a corset Back and a colorful tie up. And I'm short so the 3 layers of fabric will have to be hemed. But they really worked with me to help stick to budget and the dress +alterations are all paid for with only the ticket price on the dress. I feal like I got a steal. Thank you! read more

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress, and I'm getting married in April so I didn't have a lot of time. Bliss is a consignment store, where you can get new or used dresses at reasonable prices. They have dresses sorted by style and size, so it is really easy to find the style you are after. The sales assistant checked to see what level of service I wanted which was amazing because I'm the type where I don't want to be fussed over! She helped me pull around 8 dresses and let me try on the dresses at my own pace, only helping me to get zipped into the dresses then she would put them away. After trying on a few dresses she ended up pulling a beautiful tulle princess dress and I had that say yes to the dress moment. If you are the no fuss kinda bride I recommend checking this store out! read more

The two ladies that helped me at Bliss were absolutely wonderful. They made the whole process of selecting, buying and trying on wedding dresses so easy and fun. They were hilarious, and that made me a lot more relaxed. I had some ideas about dresses in mind before I came in, but they really helped me find the absolutely perfect fit and priced dress for me. I have only great things to say about Bliss. My entire wedding dress shopping experience with them from beginning to end (7 fittings!) was smooth, easy and enjoyable. I bought a dress off the rack and asked if they could make a custom fitted bolero for me as I didn't want to show so much skin. The dress required them to add a corset back, which they did with excellent skill. They even sewed lace on the back piece to match the lace of my dress. When it was finished you couldn't even tell it wasn't originally part of the dress. For the custom made bolero, I simply showed the seamstress a photo and told her what I wanted. She handmade the piece, and it turn out superb that it could have come from a high end store. I absolutely love it! All of the Bliss ladies are so helpful and friendly! Thank you so much! read more

Although the atmosphere and the shop itself leave a lot to be desired, the sales ladies are wonderful and very helpful at narrowing down what looks good - they have tons of selection. In addition, they are able to totally customize a style with beading or bling and straps or cap sleeves which gives you tons of options. Found a really pretty one that I will probably buy to make my special day wonderful. read more

Went into this place when I was shopping in New West. Although I didn't find anything for me - the sales people were very laid back and welcoming (helped if needed it but did not hound you and follow you around). Some of the dresses are a bit out of date but it's obvious their focus is on modern wedding dresses. For a bride on a budget - def. worth a look at least. read more

I brought my dress back to Bliss to consign, and two years later I have not been able to get through to anyone at the store by phone. Nobody picks up the phone or returns my messages. At this point, I've written off the dress (and my check for $300) as gone. I know there was a fire last year in this area of New West, so maybe that's what happened? read more

I came into Bliss with an appointment on a Sunday afternoon with my bridal party and there was no other customers in the store. There were three people working but no customers. The space was quite cluttered with a lot of dresses hung up all around. The store is much smaller than some of the other dress stores in the area. A sales rep greeted me and just told me to look around and if I saw anything I like to just pull it aside and she would help me try it on. She didn't ask me what I was looking for or offered any help. My party and I took a look around and through all the cluttered dresses just found it overwhelming. I went back to the rep and showed her pictures of what I was looking for and asked if she could help pull dresses for me based on the pictures of what I was looking for. She came back to me with about four dresses to try on. None of them were what I was really looking for. There were a lot of dresses but not much in terms of new styles. There is a consignment dress area in the back but I couldn't really find anything there either. Overall, I don't think I would recommend Bliss for wedding dress shopping unless you're really on a budget. There are many better options in the area with more helpful staff and better selections. read more

We attended an appointment, the staff was terrific allowed my daughter to try on anything and everything, was helpful in suggesting alterations, lace, veils, just a great experience. I will NEVER be stepping foot back in this store after the nightmare I went through with these people. The first time I went in to look for my wedding dress I found the one. Overall the visit went very well. Luckily I got a consigned dress and it fit so well that I needed no alterations and didn't even need it hemmed! Everything to do with my dress went great and so I decided that I would bring my bridesmaids back to find their dresses. BIG MISTAKE. I brought in my 4 bridesmaids to choose their dresses. We decided that each girl would pick out their own dresses as everyone had different body types and I didn't want any of the girls feeling uncomfortable. After a while of trying on dresses all of the girls found the ones they wanted. They all had to be measured as we were having to order them in all in the same color to match. The next time we went back was to try the dresses on. What a nightmare. EVERY dress except for one was too small!! I asked the ladies what happened and they said that the girls all measured "in between sizes" and so they ordered the size smaller for them and they can alter them to fit. I'm sorry, but would it not be easier to order a dress in a bigger size and have it taken in?! Apparently not according to them. I ended up having to pay an extra almost $300 to get all of the dresses altered. I didn't have the girls pay because they had already paid $300 each for their dresses. So we left the dresses with them and waited for the call to come back and try them on again. The next visit was even worse than the last. My sister's dress (the maid of honour) STILL was not fitting right and my other bridesmaid's dress wasn't even close to zipping up in the back. I asked the lady about my sister's dress and why the lining underneath was fitting so tight when the dress she tried on was very flowy - my sister could barely move her legs. In order to explain it better I pulled out the original dress she had tried on and showed her how the lining was loose. She then proceeded to pull a different dress (it looked the same on the outside but a different color) and said "this is the dress she tried on". Now I know for a fact which one she tried on because it was bright pink and the other one the lady pulled out was brown. After arguing the lady finally admitted THEY ORDERED THE WRONG DRESS!! So AGAIN we were told to leave the 2 dresses and they would fix them. The final time we went in for the fitting (2 weeks before my wedding) my sister's dress finally fit her. My bridesmaid on the other hand still could not even zip hers up! This is after going back and them "fixing" the dress THREE TIMES. They admitted that there was not enough fabric to let the dress out and they had ordered the wrong size and would put a panel in the back of it to make it fit. At this point we were so fed up that my friend ended up going to a different bridal shop all together and buying something off the rack. After all this has been said and done, the last thing that I had to do was pick up my dress. I had thought about taking it with me the last time I was there but they said that they were going to steam it and clean it for me so I decided to leave it with them. ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE! 2 days before my wedding my mom and I go to pick up my dress. Should be simple right? WRONG. The girl kept asking us over and over again if I wanted it cleaned again and moving the dress around so I couldn't get a good look at it. My mom finally asked "why do you keep asking if we want it cleaned again? You already cleaned it. Is something wrong with the dress?" at that point I saw it - right dead center in the middle of my dress. A HAND SIZED STAIN!! At first I thought it was just a shadow so I asked "what's that?" and pulled the dress from her and I noticed this massive stain. I immediately start to cry - how the hell did this happen?! She claimed that there was a stain on the dress and they tried to get it out but it somehow got worse. Let me tell you, every single time we went there for my bridesmaids to try their dresses on, I put mine on too and we all meticulously checked my dress for any issues before I left it with them and there were NONE. After getting so upset with the lady to the point I thought I was going to lose my mind she said "we will steam it for you again come back in 30 minutes". I stood outside on the side of the street crying. Random people were coming up to me and hugging me. Thankfully they were able to minimize the stain but it was definitely still there. I decided to just take my dress and go because I was so done with this place. I told everyone in that store at the time (it was grad time and girls were shopping for their dresses) that they should leave and never look back - and some of them did thank goodness. After all of the crap I went through with this place I had at least had hoped for some compensation. All they offered me was a free dry cleaning... WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T SHOP AT BLISS BRIDAL!!! read more
