The only reason we booked this place was because they are pet friendly. Besides that everything was awful! We reserved this place online. Cody had his dog with him, a black lab. While driving down from Seattle, we knew we were going to be getting in late so we called to give them a heads up. We pulled in a little before 1 am. They had a walk up window that we used to check in. Cody got the key and we headed to the room. They said they'd waive the pet fee, but we still paid $75 for the room. We were planning to leave early so we were only here for less than 8 hours. Our room was on the 4th floor. The one window we had faced the hallway. The room stank of cigarette smoke. We had 1 queen sized bed that felt like cardboard. The pillows were super flat. It was the worst night's sleep both Cody and I ever had. The bathroom sink had someone else's hair on it. There was water seeping out of the flooring next to the shower. I was scared to walk barefoot in this entire room. I barely took off my shoes to shower. I would never stay here again. It was that awful. I would've rather slept in my car in the Walmart parking lot. Wifi was awful as well, logged on and logged right off to use my data plan instead. read more

Let's just say I ended up here due to circumstances beyond my control (it's near the hospital). Let's just say I would never end up back here due to circumstances in my control or otherwise again. That being said, a night was survived here relatively unscathed. (there is a bit of haunting of the gross factor lingering). To say we were tired when we checked in is an understatement, so at first it looked not horrible, although the room smelled like stale smoke. Then we left and got a quick bite at a nearby Cafe Yumm, and when we returned we started to notice the warts. Smoke detector dangling from the ceiling, what looked like blood stains on the back of the comforter on one bed, stains like someone had sprayed a can of beer or something on the wall by the door, frayed carpet by the kitchen area with broken glass. Under any other circumstance we would have been out of there and in search of something else. Cannot recommend. read more

After getting my room keys, I headed to my room and found that the room had no number on it except a hand written black ink number on the side of the door. Aside from friendly staff and budget rates, this place has NOTHING to offer. Bring your own wash cloth (really!), soap, and other toiletries normally offered by even the cheapest of lodging. Besides this, the room was filthy. Blood Staind on bedspread, walls and doors covered in dirty handprints and some unidentifiable substances, and the floor was so dirty my white socks were black within minutes. I told the office and they offered to change my room. If I were here more than 1 more night I would. Initially had 10 nights booked but getting refund and going somewhere else. We showed up at this hotel, the girl at the desk wasn't friendly. Didn't even acknowledge when I said thank you and didn't make eye contact. When we got up to the room the door was open. Actually open. The tv was on and I had to stand at the door for a few second and ask if anybody was there just to be sure. The bed was tiny, lumpy, with two flat pancake pillows. The room was badly stained and smelled of cheap cleaning supplies hat never seem to get the sticky off. When I found myself crying in what seemed like an overpriced crack den, my boyfriend started trying to find another hotel. We ended up in a king size suite at the holiday inn express. Inexpensive and centrally located, my check in was the same day as an ice storm went thru, so the power had not been on for very long. Angel gave me my key and I went to my room only to find it full of clothes and personal property-! So I went back down and she upgraded me. The light was out in the elevator, which was scary, but my room was clean. The floor was clean, the bathroom was clean, the bedspreads were clean but full of cigarette burns (but did not smell). The kitchen had zero pots, pans, coffeemaker or detergent, but I brought a few things over. This Hotel is woefully understaffed and has very poor or no exterior maintenance. The hallways by the (always overflowing) garbage cans was filthy, with stains that had obviously been there forever. No sweeping or cleaning evident anywhere outside! Huge overflowing dumpsters in the parking lot with stained mattresses looked like a magnet for things I don't want to see! The laundry room looked adequate, but dirty. I didn't use it because there was a homeless person sleeping in there! I don't blame him, but the door doesn't close properly and so it's always available. I did not report him, but I left. (It was wickedly cold outside.) Gateway has a great laundromat, I went there. I stayed a week while my house had a repair. I had my small dog with me, and she was fine. Angel was nice, but I never spoke to or saw another staff member, no clean towels for the week (I took them to the laundromat with me!) and I had to ask for more toilet paper, which was cheerfully handed over. Seriously, corporate -- you need a maintenance person and better security! I felt safe enough anyway. A little noisy in the room above me, but oh well. I will return in the future as I get ready to move. This is not a luxury hotel, no coffee in the office, no housekeeping, nothing extra at all. read more

It isn't the greatest, but when you're paying $50 a night, that's not what you're expecting. It's clean, quiet, close enough to Eugene, and the WiFi's decent. What more can you expect at that price? Well, there's more! Crossland rooms also have a small, furnished (with basic utensils and crockery) kitchenette, which is usually irrelevant when we need a room. But we bunked it here the night before I ran the Eugene Marathon, and it was super useful to have the kitchenette to put together my pre-race meal. So yes, your standard $50 room, but with a kitchenette. And as others have noted, Target and Safeway are close by. read more

NEVER EVER again I dont care if Oregon is winning and we have box seats...I much rather sleep in our car. Dont let the word STUDIO fool you its a freaking 10X10 box complete with nasty bedding, mold, bad odor and cheap toiletries from like dollar tree. For business travellers, or for families driving through I-5, this place is great. It's about a mile and a half from the freeway, so you can't get lost and it's far enough to where it's not too busy. There is a shopping center nearby with a Target store and Big 5. There is also a golf course around the way (oakway) that is beautiful and costs almost nothing to play (compared to Cali courses this quality.) As far as the actual hotel is concerned, the staff was decent, the rooms were clean and the stove with cooking supplies and eating utensils were great. Decent selection of free TV, and overall, very comfortable. I'm sure you can get a better room around town for twice the price or more, but I honestly don't think you can beat this value. I don't review a lot of hotels but this one is getting special treatment so that others don't get into a bind. I will blame this partially on our lack of planning to justify the mandatory single star rating. It looks good on Expedia and elsewhere, beware! We needed a place to stay on the way back to California from Portland. We reserved two rooms by phone which took over fifteen minutes. We arrived at midnight to get our keys. We open the door to one of the rooms and it was occupied. There was a nude man standing in the room with a bottle of lotion. We ran quickly to return the keys to the front desk. We return keys to get two new rooms because the other room was adjacent to the man with lotion. Two of us end up in a room with one bed as they did not have another room with two beds. Hell, one of us will sleep on the floor. The other two in our party scored a smoking room with two ash-burned beds. Both of the rooms were disgusting, dirty and accompanied by drug addicts perched outside the door, shaking, mumbling, and doing other addict things. We returned keys, requested a refund, went elsewhere. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

The room was dirty and stunk like cigarettes, the shower needed a good scrubbing and the TV was broken. I had to go get towels from the lobby after tracking someone down because nobody was there. There was not one full hour during the night that there was not shouting, arguing or loud conversation. I got tired of calling the front desk and banging on the wall. The manager said she'd do "something" but apparently nothing was done. The bed was a (worn out) Full although we paid for a Queen bed. The manager argued with me about this point and said I was wrong even though I told her I was in the mattress industry for over 12 years and I think I know by now what size bed is what. a Queen is 60"x80" and a Full is 54"x75", and that can't be argued. (I even measured to show my wife.) It was too late to get a room elsewhere that night but I did go somewhere else the next. We felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Next time, if I can't get a room anywhere else in the Eugene area, I'll find a friend to couch surf with or sleep in my car. Most of the reviews are correct. We needed a place for only one night and the location/ price worked into our plans. We would come to find out "you get what you pay for".... I can say the staff is friendly and accommodating. Rolled in about 11:45. Our room was below average standards and the toilet- someone else had already relieved themselves in & borrowed "our" soap as it was unwrapped and left in the trash. The toilet was clogged and overflowed, water was all over the floor . I called the office in which I had two options 1-use a plunger the office gal brought up to me, 2-change rooms. Tried the first option with no success, so we moved two doors down. This room had a very unusual aroma and as we were taking our things into our room , we caught site of a guy enjoying his contraband in the parking lot. 5 minutes later 4 police cars arrive to arrest this individual. We finally got to bed about 1 AM only to be awoke by the yard service that arrives before 8 AM. On our checkout/ I mentioned our experiences and additional money was taken off our bill which was appreciated & it's ideal customer service. But, don't plan to ever revisit nor would I refer anyone to this location. read more

Tons of people and animals and crackheads and tweakers, its springfield so get used to it. The bed was as hard as a rock, we had 3 tiny pillows too small for my kids to even use, and they were unable to provide us more, so we had to go to walmart just to buy pillows. Tv remote did not work, heating and ac worked but the draft under the door made it kick on and off constantly. Using the shower sprayed water all over the floor. Fan in bathroom did not work either. The girl at the front desk (Valorie?) had pretty much checked out of the job emotionally at least a year ago. I would have sworn I was talking to a cyborg had she not coughed and exhibited human like behaviors. She was unfriendly, uncaring, no smiles, no eye contact, just the depressing drull of what seemed to be the motions for her. She is not a welcoming employee. The morning staff was a bit nicer. We checked out with no hassle, will never return. The entire place feels like an apartment complex that caters to tweakers and junkies and people who live on the road. My husband and I mutually decided this was the worst hotel we had ever stayed in, and we are so frugal that we always pick cheap, crappy hotels. The carpet was so stained that we didn't go barefoot, only half the lights/outlets worked, no shampoo, the bottom of the shower was filthy/stained, the walls had graffiti and stains, and you can hear EVERYTHING through EVERY wall and from above. I stayed here for two weeks because of a work assignment. I thought I would save a few dollars and would be able to "Suck it up" for two weeks. I was wrong! This hotel is in direct proportion to the cost. The first night I continued to feel as if there were bugs crawling on me. That in addition to the other occupants of the hotel made my stay miserable. The front desk staff was really helpful. I had forgotten to mention AARP when making the reservation, once we arrived they were happy to makes the necessary changes and give us the discount. The room was clean. The fridge, microwave, and basic set of dishes would have been great if we were staying more than just the night. I was booked into this motel through a club I was working at, it was my 3rd time there. I have never slept well at this place,noisy and can hear everything. I checked in early to watch a football game. Jan 11th, I crawled under the covers to keep warm while watching the game. After game I took a short map. Did my show and came back to motel to sleep. Too noisy! So I got up and drove 3 hours to home. Next day found I was covered with bites (bedbugs) I called motel to inform them. They called back 15 minutes later to tell me they had searched and found no bedbugs. I have had over $400 worth of dr. appt., medication and misery from the bites. I was nowhere else I could have gotten these. They the 3 weeks later when a friend of mine was about to check in, informed her I was a problem customer. New Management (a surly, heavy set middle-aged woman with with dark hair and a seemingly permanent scowl) is beyond horrendous - disgusting conditions, they give you stained towels and then attempt to accuse you of staining the towels (clearly old, set in stains likely present for years) and will change your key code and make you pay $25 to get back in your room for a stained old towel that you did not stain (during your paid stay!) - when I brought it to you her attention that the towels were clearly stained before they gave them to me ( small blue and pink really faded set in stains, looks like makeup perhaps which I clearly don't wear) she arrogantly what did you proclaim the anyone who argues with her on her property has the police come and remove them - a ridiculous statement to say the least They are very strict about their smoking policy, which is understandable, and I respected such by following their excessively strict policy of smoking only in a random unsheltered portion of the center of the parking lot where they placed an ashtray, despite the fact that it was pouring rain and my room smells like cigarette smoke on arrival anyway... I might as well have just not bothered following their rules and instead should have just smoked in my room anyway, as I ended up paying yet another Ransom fee for my belongings due to the room smelling of cigarettes from the previous occupant - well after housekeeping time, sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. said manager I described earlier apparently went into my room without authorization while I was gone, because when I returned, I was greeted with the unpleasant surprise that my key card no longer works.. going to the office, this ridiculous woman had the nerve attempt to berate me about smoking in my room (when she knew damn well I was smoking in the designated smoking area because she was out there doing the same the same time as me many times) and demanding $50 cash for is smoking violations that I did not commit in order to access my paid room and my in order to access my paid room and my belongings! Upon checking out at 11 a.m. which is checkout I called it had to take me and my luggage to my destination... the taxi had a 30 minute wait time which isn't horrible so I planned on just waiting in the parking lot like a normal person for my taxi... Well at 11:10, this woman comes out to the parking lot to announce that since we checked out, we are trespassing and she will have us arrested if we don't move our stuff up the property I have never been treated so awfully at a hotel ever If I had been writing this review after my first 3 stays here, the last witch was roughly a year ago, it probably would have been on the other end of the rating Spectrum... my previous experiences there were all positive but based on this experience I will never stay here ever again and I recommend you avoid this place like the plague read more

This place is lower then a hostel. There was no toilet paper in the whole hotel because they had not recieved their shipment, so we had to search for a place to go buy some. No trash cans in the rooms. Instead, there was piled up trash in huge cans outside the doors. There were no comforters and the room smelled or marijuana. The pillows were not even pillows. It was totally stained and completely gross. The bedding smelled so bad, and we could not wait for the snow to stop so we could leave. The towels had other peoples' hair on them. Our first room we dad to move to another right away because the bed only had 3 legs holding it up. It was actually comical that a maid would have even made the bed on a bed that needed fixed. The bed was hard as a rock, we didn't have enough bedding and we could not get any towels. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Oh, and then a maid walked in on us WITHOUT KNOCKING. The room was filthy--my S.O. checked in and then I joined him later--had I done the check in, I would not have accepted this room. Whoever checked him in neglected to give him a parking pass or the wi-fi key. Later they tried to charge him for the room again, even though the original payment had already come out of his checking account. NOT GOOD. We got to the hotel early to check in but was told they didn't have any rooms ready and to come back at about 3 and the wonderful attitude attendant would give us the key hopefully. Well we call to see if they had a room ready and she said yes just give her a few mins and she would have keys ready and to just come in and she would give them to us. When we arrived back to the hotel there was a line that went almost to the street. We went into the lobby to get key and was hit with even more attitude then when we checked in. I asked the attendant(that can't look at anyone in the eyes)for our keys I was told again the rooms not ready. Well now check in time is what time? Yes 3. I reminded her what she had said that she had a room for us and to just walk up and she would give us the key. In a wonderful ton was told I know what I told you. I asked to speak with the manager well, she has the same attitude. These people are in hospitality do they know that? She did ask the attendant if she had keys for me and she tossed the keys to her. She then needed to assign the room to us and I let her know that the name on the room was....... She then said don't talk to her like she is retarded. Really!? We did get keys and when we opened the door to the room there were no sheets on the bed. I called to lobby to ask when we would get sheets and they hung up on me. We weren't the only room that didn't have sheets or the room being dirty. People that were getting dirty rooms were complaining and if someone in line made comments they told they they had canceled there reservation. This is a town that all hotels booked within 3 hours of the sale of the tickets. I understand being busy but lack of planning on there part is not our problem. Running out of sheets and having to wash them not our problem. Order more sheets. If you didn't have staff hire a cleaning service for the day or used a temp agency. Now the room. Pillows had stains all over them blood on wall in bathroom. Didn't feel safe leaving anything in the room with the attitudes of the staff.
