No mincing words- Good value. I'm not one to spend more on a room then necessary, especially when it's literally a few hours that I'm there to lay my head. Was unsure about this S8 from past reviews, but for our needs it was perfect. This location has easy I5 access, food nearby, and offers free breakfast to go w their free wifi. The bed was comfy, breakfast was simple but had lots of options to easily satisfy the many, towels were standard low quality/rough and the staff was professional and efficient. I booked this hotel on Expedia about a month before my recent visit here, and I honestly didn't think it would be a great hotel experience, as the online photos weren't great, but I was pleasantly surprised! The front desk lady was very friendly when we checked in. They initially assigned us a ground floor room but I asked to change that to an upper level room as I'm not comfortable on the main floor, and they obliged without question. The hotel and our room was very clean, and our bed was surprisingly VERY comfortable! Everything worked (nice tv, good shower, hairdryer. AC and heat). The vending machines downstairs had a decent variety of drinks (including cans of Starbucks coffees) and foods (bags of low-fat/low-cal popcorn, in addition to the standard fare of chocolate bars), all for reasonable prices. Good ice machine, too. The pitfalls: their complimentary breakfast is really a joke. There are some fruits and dry cereals to choose from, thermoses of coffee with powdered creamer, white and wheat bread with a toaster and packets of jams, cold Eggo waffles you can heat up with a jug of suspicious syrup nearby, and some yogurts (some mornings, the yogurts were all full-fat. No low-fat options). I passed on the breakfasts every morning (and I was there for three nights). Just nothing was even remotely appealing. Supposedly this is a non-smoking facility and there are signs posted that smoking was not permitted on the grounds. Despite this, there were people smoking right by the front door and the rear door on multiple occasions, sometimes in full view of the front counter lady, and yet nothing was said or done. I hate walking through clouds of smelly smoke to get inside the hotel or to get to my car. The parking lot, on each of the nights I was there, had trash and litter scattered about in places. I know people can be pigs, but why isn't this cleaned? On two days and nights, a ceramic mug full of coffee was left on the ground of the parking lot, near my car's front tires. Nobody removed it for 48 hours. Same with litter scattered about. This was not evident throughout the entire parking lot, but just in specific pockets. I was surprised. One of the two key cards given us was inactivated. I found this out when attempting to access the hotel's rear door, to gain access inside on the first night of our visit. It was cold and pouring rain out (of course), and the door would not open. I had to run to the front of the hotel, to the front desk, to get inside and get new key cards. Argh. Lastly, our check-out experience was less than ideal. I was pretty sure I was all paid up, but wanted to make certain nothing else was needed from us. I got to the front desk at 7:40am today and no one was around. There were a few folks eating the bread-toast breakfast, but no counter staff person. I looked over the counter and asked "hello, anyone there?" into the back room, but no answer. I waited 5 minutes and no one came. I decided to call the desk, and the phone rang audibly and loudly for 5 minutes (I let it ring on, much to my kids' annoyance!), and yet no one came to the desk. After I hung up, the phone rang again; someone else was calling the hotel and no one was there to answer. Other customers there in the tiny front room commented, how odd, nobody is staffing the counter. FINALLY a lady came, checked the computer, said I was all set. Question: if the counter person is going to be busy or use the bathroom or whatever for 10-15 minutes and leave their post, shouldn't he/she get someone to cover them? Seriously, the phones were left ringing and unanswered. Anyhow, despite these minor issues, I still can say this hotel was a good value and provided a comfortable stay for us for three nights. Ideally I'd rank it 3.5 stars. I'd stay here again. read more

Be careful when booking a room. The 800 number doesn't write everything down like I'm disabled and need a first floor room. When you call in to let them know at the Springfield location they don't make note that you will be late. Then they don't have adequate parking so they make you walk when you are disabled back and forth to Denny's to ask to park before they will check you in. Then they are too cheep to Put more than one pillow in the room. Grrrr. Oh and the night desk clerk doesn't know how to provide customer service. read more

There isn't a lot to be said. This hotel is worth every penny. It is relatively inexpensive, but you receive far more than you pay for. Rooms are very spacious, clean, and the beds are awesome. One drawback though, one of the women who work the front desk is nothing short of mean, rude, and looks as if she would shoot you down like a dog if given the chance. I'd like to say, it might be because I am from Hispania, but I doubt it. I think she's just mean..... I fear that if she reads this review before the completion of my stay, I'm a goner. read more

Stayed here with family in one of their suite rooms. The room was spacious with more then enough room for all of us and our stuff. It was showing a bit of wear around the edges though, like a tear in the couch cushions and one of the lights that just stopped working. I slept on the fold-out couch bed and it felt a little thin, I could feel the support railing in the middle of my back. The wi-fi was also a bit spotty and could take a long time to open up a web page. They do have a continental breakfast, but it's pretty much just coffee/tea, prepackaged muffins and apples. There was ample parking though, and you do have to have your key to even get into the building so it's safer. There's also an elevator for those who don't want to/can't climb the stairs. read more

The hotel probably needs to be torn down or renovated - unfortunately they've got a captive audience for duck games/autzen stadium, and probably sell out enough to meet sales goals without needing/wanting to upgrade. Which is fine--but at that price point you'd expect a little more upgraded decor. The decals and wallpaper is literally from the early nineties. There is no continental breakfast or anything it's pretty no-frills--they do offer pretty decent shampoo bottles in the bathroom but that's about it. read more

This place is okay, not super clean but passable. The problem I have had is twice I made reservations with a credit card and when I arrived, the staff claimed it was not in the computer. Said it must be a glitch or something! Since we were traveling and could not find another place at 11pm, we ended up driving back to Seattle. Since we have family in the area, we decided to give them yet another try and this time came earlier. They gave room keys to my husband but when he opened the room, there were people inside. He went back to the office and then they said they did not have any other open rooms. What we figure is that they must just sell the room before people who have reserved show up - just to make sure they get the business! Therefore reservations do not mean anything to them and you are left on the street in the dark. I made several official complaints about this to their main office, corp office, etc. but never did get a response or a "sorry about that" or anything else. So they must not care either. read more

Generally speaking, Super 8s and the like fall under either the category of just fine (or in Yelp parlance, A-OK), or yeaaaahhh, no. The Springfield iteration of Super 8 definitely can be filed under the former. Much bigger than the standard size room at this price point ($40-60/night). My gauge for size is "can I use a foam roller and stretch comfortably without having to re-arrange the furniture?" If the answer's yes, then yes, it's a decent-sized room. Linens were your usual quality at this point, as was the cleanliness of the room. What did make it nice -- other than the size -- was its convenient location right off the 5/Beltline interchange. Nice and easy to get to Eugene and back. Lots of shopping and food in the immediate area, but we didn't bother with any of it. An added bonus was the Courtyard Eugene/Springfield being right behind this Super 8. For those of you coming in to town during the Eugene Marathon weekend, the shuttle stops at the Courtyard. So you can use the shuttle and still pay less. Bonus! Speaking of the Eugene Marathon, as you would expect most hoteliers to do, they raised prices for that particular weekend well above the usual -- we paid $100/night. One hundred dollars for a Super 8 in Eugene! But that's to be expected. Book early, runners! read more

What a great little hotel. We weren't planning on stopping from Sacramento to Olympia, but traveling with cats and exhaustion made it necessary to find a pet friendly hotel. They were very kind, and the rates were very good. The beds were comfortable and warm, the cleanliness was outstanding. Awesome stay, I've been twice now. Beds are super comfortable, everything very very clean and quiet. Not five stars because of price (I'm cheap sorry) I booked for $111 the first time and $100 the second, both on hotels.com. The parking lot was safe but also next to a gas station and has a little bit of foot traffic. The amenities are great and reliable, breakfast so so but I never really get breakfast. We booked this room when the first place we were going to stay was a dump to say the least. It was last minute on a u of o football home game weekend so we ended up with a smoking room. The breakfast is mostly cold stuff but there is a Denny's basically in the same parking lot and all the staff were great. I would stay here again in a non smoking room. read more

Stayed here 2 nights in December of 2010 with the boyfriend. Booked a deal from their website- this spot was significantly cheaper than others in the area, which I questioned but figured what the heck? I initially booked the 2 nights separately, so when I checked in had to sort out the fact that I didn't want to move rooms or check out and check back in the next day. Staff were courteous and even loaned us a cork screw on the second night. Room was clean and quiet, stay was uneventful. Definitely not a 5 star spot but a really good value. We stayed here for our son's graduation from the University of Oregon. The room was clean and the in-room amenities were basic; however, the customer service is definitely lacking. The guest laundry services are a joke. Despite the directions, the machines do not take credit cards, nor does the front desk offer laundry detergent. If you need to do laundry, be prepared to have at least $6.00 In quarters readily available. The front desk staff is caustic, and they SHOULD NOT be in the hospitality industry. So obviously this is not a 5 star hotel but I'm rating on my experience. For a Super 8 and us just passing through town this was just fine. Nice remodeled bathroom (wish it had a separate fan), nice size room, big flat screen tv with good quality picture, frig, microwave, coffee. Lady at the desk was nice, room was clean. Our only complaint was the pillows. Super small, no fluffiness and only 3, I was a little uncomfortable sitting up in bed. Other then the pillows it was nice and would come back/recommend. read more

NEVER AGAIN! Omg! this dump was the worse nightmare of my life! I booked this stupid hotel on line, believing some reviews that it was ok, it's a 1 STAR! I walked in and the front desk has people waiting in line. The rude desk lady is on hold on the phone and does not even acknowledge or apologize that people have to wait. This hotel has a lot of Truck Drivers so, it's really kinda scary for a "Single Woman", having them stare you up and down, ugh! The trucks are park on the parking lot and they wake up at 2:00 and 3:00 am, noise! The bed is hard as a rock, old room stinks! The bathtub was dirty, when I left a note at the front desk to please clean it, they did NOT! The breakfast was a joke! yogurt, cereal, bananas and coffee the office is like 5 X 5 room so we are are crowed inside. The floors are squeaking all night from people upstairs walking. Someone tried to come in my room! They had the wrong room number, SCARY! The noise finally died down around 3:00 am! So I slept from 3:00 to 6:00 am and even had a nightmare here so, for $85! This was NOT worth $1.00. Ladies, this place is honestly not safe for you and I highly do NOT suggest you stay here. read more

this place is a shithole, we got put in a room right next to the main door that shook our entire room and we got 4+ attitude filled calls blaming us for this. we would be sitting on the couch or in bed not doing anything and the front desk agent would call, literally saying "what was that" with a huge attitude. we didn't do anything wrong but got shit all night, this place is a joke and both the evening and overnight agents on 2/13-2/14 were unbearable. trashy ass place read more

I took my chances with Super 8 & to my surprise, I ended up with an extremely clean room. The moment I walked into the hallway, I could tell that this place was kept up. Stay away from this place. Get there early or you have to check in through a glass window outside the motel after 9:00 PM. Reservations don't mean a thing. My friend had one and when she checked in, there was a man already staying in it! Desk clerk handled situation BADLY, she offered the room across the hall (are you kidding). No refund or compensation! Had to write a letter to corporate offices of both Super 8 and Wyndham Hotels to get the room charge refunded! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM BOTH. read more
