Lehigh Valley Health Network Fitness - Two power cages and a nice view (also a smith machine not pictured). Wrap around windows. Lots of natural light.

Similar to a small YMCA gym. Better than a planet fitness although much smaller. I go after work at…read morethe hospital around 4-6pm and it's never crowded. Gym is clean and equipment is a bit older but maintained well. Locker rooms are clean. Women's has two showers and have shampoo, conditioner, hair gel and lotion. Plenty of lockers with included locks and keys. Weights: Two power cages/squat racks and a smith machine. Ample plates from 2.5lb-45lb. About 7 adjustable benches (no rack, just the bench)and dumbbells up to 100 lbs or so. A cable machine with about 8 stations and lots of attachments. The cable machine has numbers, not weight equivalents. Assisted or unassisted pull-up/dip station. Variety of kettlebells up to about 50lbs. Other equipment: 3 plyo boxes up up to 24" tall. There's a large cushioned bench, probably 8'x8', that's great for core work, rather than laying on the floor. Resistance bands and station to attach them at various heights. TRX straps on one of the power cages. A handful of medicine balls. Cardio: About 8 treadmills, 5 ellipticals, 5 stationary bikes and 2 rowing machines. Some of the stationary bikes are a little wonky. Machines: Circuit of about 15 well-maintained machines including bench press, overhead press, row, leg press, bicep curl, ab/back extension and more. Classes: 2-3 per day at noon and around 4. Some yoga, some fitness. Amenities: TVs, controllable from the cardio equipment. Nice view of the highway and the woods beyond. Water, powerade and bottled protein drinks available at reasonable prices. It's $24.99/mo or free for LVHN staff. It's for general fitness. Not a luxe club or a powerlifting gym. Some people are pretty fit, some not fit at all, most people are average. If I could change things, I would add more free weights and take out some of the machines. I hardly ever see anyone on the machines. Will add pics if I can get any without people. Will update if I get more accurate counts on the equipment.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Locker room is small. No whirlpool, sauna or pool - I'd like a pool but then again, it's very reasonably priced.

Very greedy attitude! Premium gym, premium price that's fine but I signed up for the premium…read moremembership and they nickel and dime me to the point where after one month I quit. They didn't tell me that I needed to buy or rent a wrist monitor so that was $110 I didn't expect then I forgot it one day and they charge me $10 to rent one. If you have a busy schedule be careful when you reschedule appointments they are not at all flexible. i missed a few classes and they charge $12 if you schedule and then don't make it. Overall it's very unfriendly from a customer service standpoint. The kind of management that writes a tough binding agreement and the quotes it at you.

I was also not a fan of the expensive membership prices. However, I realize that this is probably exactly what I need: combination of strength and cardio guided workouts in a class setting. No planning your workouts at all, just show up and do it. The workouts are challenging BUT DOABLE for all levels, even me. You'll be surprised in yourself in what you can do, you just have to try. So 5 classes later, Elite Membership (8x/month), I have my own OTBeat Burn and I'm LOVING seeing my progress on the screen.
