Yes, I had a terrible initial customer service experience with Ralph and Cross Bay Appliance - and yes, I complained to Krups customer service twice and finally got a call back within a day or so of posting my 1 star rant review and was asked to come pick the fully automatic Krups espresso machine we'd dropped off just over 3 months before. I'm not really sure what changed, or if it was just pure luck - but when we picked up our espresso maker from Ralph, he told us that he hadn't been able to identify the problem that was causing the error code but when he'd put it back together, the error had cleared and indeed, it was working again. He even insisted that we run a test in the shop before leaving. What did it cost? $0 - Ralph proved to be a gentleman and wouldn't charge us for the repair. The reason? He couldn't guarantee the work as he had no idea why it was working again. If I hadn't been so frustrated over the initial poor customer service and lack of communication during what was supposed to be a week's time to turn around an estimate that turned into a 3-month wait without being able to get any information at all.... I had a problem with my Krups spice/coffee grinder while it was still under warranty. Through the Krups website I found Cross Bay, and I sent them the grinder for warranty service. I have been really impressed with them. From the first time I called them about the appliance, they have been excellent. They gave me clear instructions about what to do to request warranty service. They had information available when I requested an update on what their inspection revealed and what would happen next. When the replacement grinder arrived, the manufacturer had only sent the base unit; they didn't include the cap. I reached out to Cross Bay to ask for advice, and they had what I sent to them initially. They said they would send me the cap. Cross Bay did a great job for me. read more

This experience started out so well, considering our mixer was definitely in need of repair. We chose one of the two places (total) in the city that repair KitchenAid mixers and drove there on a sunny afternoon instead of shipping it off to KitchenAid for repair. We thought it would be easier... Little did we know... We walked into a tiny, jam packed shop and spoke with a very nice guy who quoted us about $60 to fix our machine in about two weeks. Three weeks go by and we haven't heard a word. The Mr. calls several times and they tell him it's not ready. No other info. I call to see what's up, and ended up just losing my $#!? with these guys! They finally mention that a part they needed was back ordered (why couldn't they mention that when the Mr. called?) and were extremely rude to me on the phone. About two weeks turned into over month, and $60 turned into $90. Plus, we finally get our mixer back, and it's just not the same... It's noisy, and just doesn't seem to be up to doing what we need it to do. So. This is NOT a great repair shop. They don't communicate worth a darn, and they didn't really fix our machine. I met Mr. Ralph Grimaldi today and explained I needed a new razor head for my Norelco Arcitec and that the washing station didn't work but I used it as a charging station. Without a word he took it upon himself to clean and add water to the unit by adding water. Prior to the cleaning the razor would reflect a blue light when charging.. After the cleaning the razor doesn't turn blue while in the charging water cleaning station! In short he broke the charging station! Albeit his intentions were good;it was not needed work. He did check the voltage contacts that showed it was throwing off juice but it did not react when the razor went back in the cradle of the cleaning base. I did however buy an $80.00 new shaver head for the razor. What is extremely upsetting is that when I called the store at 5 p.m. (i saw him at 12:00 p.m. and advised him of this situation he took no responsibility for the situation and said to let it a out dry which may help? I asked for his name and he became very evasive and said there were a lot of others working there and he had other customers taking no responsibility for the screw up. My suggestion if you need a part and he has it and you can replace it. Do it yourself! If you need a vacuum repaired go to Long Island Vacuum on Austin street In Queens. If the item works don't let him touch it without a written warranty. Then take that paper and tear it up because the store and he have a long history of pissing people off and a D- rating by the Better Business Bureau of NYC (which takes real talent)! read more

they are authorized repair so many name brand appliances large and small There are no others around that do these types of repairs , and fast too . My high speed dryer stopped working and what i considered a very fair price was fixed in under a week (it blew an engine) Think old style good service and that can fix anything lol so glad i found them (718) 843-4422 read more

Please stay away from this place. I dropped by Krups Espresso machine there on May 13th with a promise it would be next week. So, here I am now, two months later (!) being fed with constant promises that it would be another day or two. No machine. Oh! Just called him again - got an answer he is playing with it at this same moment, but I can pick it up tomorrow if the machine is not running. So I haven't technically done any business with this company. I only called to ask if they could fix an expresso machine. The guy that answer ( unfortunately forgot to get a name) was rude, and very unprofessional. Really was not willing to be patient, and explain the steps on what I needed to do. Rude store employee whose conversation was limited to "this is not my shop I only work here" so, whatever you may be asking, I will not even attempt to respond to. I was given attitude and exasperated look when I asked to see whether the unit was working before leaving the shop. Also, the store could not produce the very expensive parts that were replaced. The guy immediately yelled at me that i should have brought the whole thing in, but CLEARLY, the part i brought in was the only thing that need a new part/repair. The guy was so mean. This place is a sad excuse for a reputable local business. I purchased a batman ride on car for my son and it did not come with a charger. I then called fisher price who referred me to their local support store. The initial experience when I called them to setup the shipment of my charger was an overall smooth experience. They could never confirm anything with you on the phone, they always took down your information and called you back, usually several days later. They had made an promise to ship out the charger within 2 days and I'd receive it within one week. It's now been 3 weeks since I last spoke to them. I called back to check on the status of the charger, I was greeted by a man who said he will check and call me back. He never did. I called back today and the man was screaming at me telling me he has no control of the shipping area and does not know why it's taking them so long. He also said the words "Lady, I already told you it's already in the shipping area! That's in BROOKLYN! I have no control over that! JUST WAIT!" Terrible. Horrifying. Never again, and I suggest those of you who read this and is going through fisher price warranty department, to please call fisher price back and ask them for another contracted provider. read more

I work as the Costume Supervisor for a network show in NY. We send our Rowenta Irons and Steam Generators to Cross Bay for service and repair every season. The work is always fast and reasonable. One machine last season just had to have a panel popped back into place. We were not charged for that. Bob has been great every time I've dealt with him. read more

Thieves! I sent my mint condition Delonghi Magnifica in as I did not de scale in time and it was clogged - they told me this story about needing a new board and etc - charged me $450 and sent back someone else's refurbished unit - not my Delonghi! This unit leaks water everywhere, makes crazy noise, the water tank is cracked and does not plug in, does not make coffee, unit is scratched cracked everywhere - I knew my Delonghi for 8 years! This is not my unit! I called back and said this is not my coffee maker! They tell me it is... Sorry? Theives! I am going to Delonghi with this ! whatever you do, NEVER use this crowd. After a Delonghi coffee machine broke down over christmas they recomnended that we contact Crossbay for the repairs. After they gave us instructions the machine was delivered and they signed for it on the 2nd Jan 2014. As I trype this i have heard every excuse under the sun, from they cant find it, to UPS have it, it was sent to the wrong person and the list goes on. I have rung them 11 times and they never return calls, they are totally diinterested and it is now the 11th March. They are a total disgrace and now i have no machine and no idea when i will see it again. Just terrible the worst and most rude customer service i have ever experienced. read more

Absolute horrible service all around. Don't care how far I have to drive to get my product serviced but I will never go there again even if its under warranty. Employees have attitudes, can't get a straight answer, much less a call back on when my machine will be ready. No clue how they are still in business.
