Came here for breakfast and fell in love. Came here for dinner for the first time and fell in love love. My boyfriend ordered the chicken Au jus sandwich and I ordered the cheeseburger and we asked our lovely waitress to split both orders in half so we can each have chicken and beef and she went above and beyond and brought out 4 plates with half of our entrees on each plate, sides included. The food was amazing and service was spectacular. Crosby's never disappoints! read more

I have been to Crosby's several times and each time the service is incredible as are the food and drinks. They serve an amazing aperol spritz which I have paired with the cornbread and spinach dip appetizers (both delicious and flavorful). I have also enjoyed the wrightwood salad (added chicken), the chicken dip sandwich with a side of broccoli, and the Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich (separate occasions!). All of these entrees have been so good. Their fries are so crispy as well. I also cannot recommend their carrot cake enough. It so moist with an amazing cream cheese frosting layer!! Cannot recommend Crosby's enough. read more

I really have been trying hard to refrain from leaving negative reviews, especially given the fact that local businesses and restaurants have been struggling due to the pandemic. However, I have to say, I am really disappointed by how Crosby's kitchen handled a missing item. I had ordered the chicken and biscuits, Wrightwood salad and a Bloody Mary mix through delivery. When the delivery arrived, we had the food, but no Bloody Mary mix. I called the restaurant to let them know. They were apologetic and said they could either reimburse me or I can drive there to pick it up. I asked if it could be delivered and they said that I would have to reorder it, but they would adjust the charge on their end. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I not only got charged twice, but I also incurred all the extra delivery charges that is typical of a third party service, including a small order delivery fee. If you were wondering how the food was, the Wrightwood salad was decent, but the chicken and biscuits were somewhat disappointing. The chicken was tender, which was a positive, but the flavor was bland. I was expecting a hearty gravy and instead the gravy felt like some semblance of a chicken noodle soup. read more

The food was amazing as always - our waitress, Bri was very attentive and quick to bring our food out.

i went with a couple of coworkers a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed. Let's start with the good - the buffalo shrimp appetizer was delicious, I highly recommend. It was down hill from there though. We all had the fish and chips and it was more batter than fish. We then all ordered dessert. The keylime pie was good, the carrot cake came out wrong the first time but the second time was the charm. Unfortunately , I can't say the same for the cookie. The first one was clearly uncooked and the second one was more brown on top but still uncooked in the middle. It was untouched and the waiter did not offer a refund or substitute. I doubt that I will go back. Very disappointed overall. read more

Visiting here during Covid, they had all virtual menus and a table with sanitizer upon entering so I felt safe. This is part of the same group as Remingtons, etc. and you can see some of the staples on the menu that you'd see at their sister restaurants but this location is a bit more casual. During lunch time they had TVs on and the staff was very friendly. I do not recall the name of the woman behind the bar but she was wonderful. I haven't gone out much during the pandemic so of course I wanted something I don't make at home and I also wanted to compare the crabcake to Remingtons. It was very similar, which is a good thing! They had nearly no filler and tons of flavor. The slaw on the side had great tang and balanced the cake perfectly. I've only been once but will definitely be back. read more

I came to Crosby's after the F3 half marathon a few weeks ago because I heard good things about their brunch! I am a big fan of Ella Elli and Smoke Daddy so why not try another 4 star restaurant group. Two of us came here around 1:30pm on a Saturday and the hostess said it would be about an hour and a half wait. So yes it's a popular place for brunch. We put our name down and eyehawked for seats at the bar and we found two there so we didn't need to wait. Thank God because we were starving! We ordered Bloody Mary's to celebrate and some biscuits as a starter. The Bloody Mary was solid with a decent spice after I asked for it spicy and it came with a beer back, which is nice. The biscuits were solid! They were very hot and crispy. It didn't look like they were served with butter, but the fresh jam or chutney or whatever you want to call it was very sweet and flavorful. Since we were both starving, I mean we both just ran a half marathon in negative temperatures, I ordered the biscuits and gravy plus French Toast. The portion sizes were pretty big. There were 3 biscuits with lots of gravy. It had sausage in it so it had a little bit of a kick to it. The French today was sooooo GOOD! It was served with some cream cheese based spread and it was scrumptious! Service was solid and prices were pretty cheap for the Southport Corridor. Ambience was decently loud due to the amounts of people. I will definitely have to come back to try Crosby's for dinner and come back to brunch again! read more

I'm pretty sure that the Wrightwood Salad is my favorite salad in all of Chicago. I crave it every week and also probably order it every week. I always order it with extra corn bread croutons and it is *chefs kiss* read more

I used to like the wrightwood salad, but can't really say the same anymore. Ordered delivery and the salad came without any dressing on it or on the side. Chicken was sparse and flavorless. Crab cakes, more crab than breading which is nice, probably nicer when fully cooked and not raw and cold in the middle like the one I received (and had to throw out). Both items were wrong and I can't see myself bothering to try again after seeing other similar reviews read more

Struggling to understand how this place is still around. Just had brunch there for the first time and it was horrible. The eggs Benedict had watery hollandaise, the English muffins were not toasted and the bacon was flavorless. The prime rib skillet tasted like left over, overcooked meat from a week ago. The bacon was old and soggy like a carnival cruise buffet. Could tell they were just doing a lot of reheating vs making food to order. Hash browns were not at all crispy and under-seasoned. They need to do an overhaul of the entire brunch program The best thing on the table was a Bloody Mary read more

The food was amazing!! Especially the cookie skillet and the Brussel sprouts! Very cool vibe but still totally family friendly. We brought our two six-year-olds and it was a great experience. Our server Isabella C was FANTASTIC! Great big smile and super service. We'll be back! read more

Ooh ooh ooh, ahh ahh ahh (monkey noises) the monkey bread here makes me go bananas! I've been here twice for brunch and both times have been perfect. I've had their famous chicken hash which was an awesome twist on your typical corn beef hash. Would highly recommend, it reminds me of a rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods mixed with some hearty mid western cookin. The monkey bread...get it and don't ask any questions. You will like it and you will thank me. End of story, get the god damn monkey bread. Also really like their bloody Mary's, homemade mix with some great garnishes added (very instagram worthy). Pro Tip - be sure to use no wait via yelp so you avoid a long wait time. Do what I did today - add your name to the list from bed, then shower, mozy around, and then boom, table is ready. read more

Came to brunch on a hot hot summer Sunday. Outside seating has shade, but minimal. We cooled off with very instagrammable and delicious Bloody Mary's. We ordered the Shoulder Bacon Benedict (3/5): lacking flavor, but eggs cooked perfectly! I ordered the French Toast (3/5). It was good and hit the spot but not great. I really should've just gone for the Monkey Bread! The highlight of the meal was definitely the Bloody's. The service was excellent. I went to Crosby's this past Tuesday night with two friends. I had such a nice experience. There was a nice outdoor seating area with sufficient space between tables. The wait staff was super courteous and attentive and very cognizant of COVID-19 guidelines. They had an outside counter area which appeared to be for takeout and it was super busy all night. They had a menu for us to scan with the camera from our phones to protect us from having to touch a menu. After ordering an appetizer and our meals, our food came out in a very timely manner. Each of us really enjoyed our entree and they were very flexible in allowing my friend to make some substitutions for her NY Strip Steak salad. We started with guacamole, which was good, not the best I've had but definitely fine for a restaurant that doesn't specialize in Mexican food. I ordered the NY Strip Steak Salad which was excellent. The potatoes and mushrooms really were a great addition and the steak was cooked perfectly. One of my friends got the Wrightwood Salad which she said she gets there every time she is at the restaurant and she is a big fan of it. It's a great place to dine and meet friends, with a great outdoor eating space that adheres well to COVID-19 guidelines. read more

This was my first visit (and certainly not my last) and I had a great experience - January 5 at 1:00pm. I ordered the lunch special combo - Croquettes / Burger / Key Lime Pie. Everything was delicious! However, a good restaurant experience is not in the food alone - it is the combination of food and service. Megan was our server today. She greeted me with a smile and introduced herself. She was very friendly, knowledgable and attentive to make sure that my lunch partner and I had everything we needed - she is definitely the kind of person who should be in front of customers and training those in a similar role. It always makes me feel good to eat at a restaurant that has such a terrific person like this. The level of service she provided, unfortunately is not very common in dining and retail environments these days, so I especially appreciate it when I have such a great experience. Thank YOU Megan and keep it up! The only thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars was the window at the booth where I was seated was a bit drafty. I didn't let that spoil my time because of everything else I wrote. read more

I like coming here to brunch when in Southport - though I don't think I would really go out of my way to come here if I'm in a different part of the city. The service is always super friendly, super nice, and super attentive. The food is always solid, hearty, and plentiful. The drinks are always well made and hit the spot. As a brunch location this is definitely a really great choice especially because if there's a wait there are so many shops right in the area to spend some time in while waiting. read more

I went here cause I saw it featured in "check please!" I was kind of disappointed. It was during the summer and it was very hot out. I had the chicken with potatoes and I was not at all impressed. I could have bought a rotisserie at Whole Foods and it would have tasted the same. Service was ok, but the thing that annoyed me was that there were so many flies flying around where they sat us. It was the back booth close to the windows. So many flies were flying in and getting caught in their complicated windows. It was unappetizing to say the least. It was clear that there were so many flies but they sat us there anyways. Over all over priced and over hyped. read more

First of all, the blueberry cornbread is amazing!! Definitely worth breaking the diet for. We both wanted something salty and sweet so we decided to split two an omelet and French toast. The waitress was so sweet and had them come out to us already divided so we didn't have to do that! The eggs were good, though a little plain. The French toast was phenomenal! I really love brunch here; I have done dinner here too but I think I prefer coming here for brunch. read more

This place has predictably excellent food. The salads are outstanding. I particularly like the wrightwood salad. Steak salad is also great as pretty much anything I'v tried. My kids love the skillet cookie. Kids eat free 4-6 which is an added bonus. Good, attentive service. Have been to this restaurant probably 8-10 times and have always had a great experience. Updated to add it's been a good choice for take out during coronavirus- the salads hit the spot and my kid were happy with their burgers and ribs. Great solid choice for both dine in AND takeout read more

I've been to Crosby's twice now for dinner, and overall the food just isn't that special. It's not bad per se but nothing to write home about. The vibes inside are nice, service is friendly and fast. The food is delicious!!! Drinks are excellent I know this sounds odd, but all of the condiments were subpar. For example, the jam was some of prepackaged type of gelatin featuring corn syrup. The hot sauces were limited in selection (tabasco... no Cholula or Tapatio). Essentially, the food in this place is worth five stars, but there is not attention to detail in terms of the condiments. For instance, a place of this quality should have whipped butter, their own hot sauce, and something other than Heinz ketchup. They will definitely get five stars for me if they can upgrade the details. read more

I have to start off this review by saying I was STARVING when I got to Crosby's Kitchen. We went on a Saturday morning at 10am. No reservation was needed, yet we made one anyways. We began our experience with mimosas. I personally think you can't mess up a mimosa so I was pleased. We then moved onto the monkey bread which LOOKED to-die-for. It was good, but it wasn't super warm or gooey - like monkey bread usually is. I got the Cornelia Omelette with wild mushrooms instead of provolone and it hit the spot. HIGHLY recommend. Everyone at the table got omelets and everyone was happy. The space itself is adorable and charming. Great brunch spot! read more

I am rather unhappy and feel as if I was just completely ripped off. These are two different photos of the Pike Place BBQ Salmon that I ordered. The first photo is when ordered and ate in restaurant about a week ago, and the second photo is when I ordered to-go today! As you can see, there's a clear difference between the two pieces, one being HALF the length of the one I ordered before, and was even thinner. There is no way these weighed the same either. And all this for $22!? Although it was great food, are you serious? Was not even filled up. This is not what I expected from Crosby's, I love their food, and service is always fantastic, but this was just unpleasant and I am disappointed. read more

The children's menu brought my family and I out here as I had heard about their kid's rotisserie chicken and thought to myself how fabulous that sounded. The only problem with that is that every other family is thinking the same thing! My husband was given an app to check the wait status. When we left our home, the app told us that there was no wait time, but by the time that we arrived (no more than 30 minutes), we were told that there was an hour wait. We wanted to check out the place, so it wasn't a big deal. We ended up killing time at Amazon Books a couple of doors down and had a blast there. Once we were texted to arrive, we immediately ran over. There was a lot going on, particularly a lot of concerned looks from parents (perhaps horrified by the wait time) and it was rush hour for families with young children. Totally understandable. We were sat and ordered right away as we had a lot of time to survey the menu. Our food pretty much also came out right away as well which we were thoroughly impressed with. Long wait but fast service. Of course we order the children's rotisserie (2 drum sticks and mashed potatoes + drink + 1 scoop of ice cream). I ordered the crab cakes and the hubs ordered the sausage. All of our meals met standard but also felt very "meh" which reminds me of bar food....you got your staples but nothing exciting usually. All in all, our meal was fine. It wasn't innovative but it wasn't bad. Although a bit pricey for what it was.... P.S. Come here during the week to avoid the obnoxious wait time that we went through. Also, kid's meals are free from 4-6pm! read more

I am in love with this place. The social distancing protocol is in place, face masks on while getting up to use the restroom. Sidewalk outdoor seating was at a safe distance and plentiful. Our waitress was great and checked in frequently. The food is what knocked it out of the park for me. The blueberry cornbread skillet was scrumptious and big enough to share among friends. I had brunch here for the first time today. The place was packed and because I was also by myself, I sat at the bar instead of the long wait for a table. I ordered pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were light and fluffy but they only come with 2. A stack of pancakes to me is 3. The service was excellent from the 2 bartenders. The were friendly and professional. Good food and a great place to take kids. They have a very nice patio where you can watch the neighborhood

Wonderful brunch, but be prepared for a LOT of kids. Always friendly and quick service, reliable good food.

The food was high-quality and the service was great! We were visiting from out of town for a concert.

Love the no wait app to cut down on wait time and the quick service! I would go back again, but I need to try a different dish. The food looked beautiful but lacked quite a bit in substance. My boyfriend got an omelette with hashbrowns - I must say the hashbrowns were great so I was very jealous of his order. I got the chicken hash and counted about 3 tiny bites of chicken in the whole dish. Most of it was filled with celery, carrots, and somewhat undercooked potatoes. It wasn't awful, but it just seemed to be missing ingredients. Next time I'll have to try the chili or the Wrightwood salad. UPDATE: Tried the Wrightwood Salad. So delicious! I highly recommend for a good entree salad. The only issue this time is my and my friend's orders kept getting delivered to a different table before us, so that was just awkward. read more
