I interviewed several HVAC companies and Darvon was the most knowledgeable and diagnosed my issue by suggesting a dual zone HVAC system with a new damper setup. His price was better than all the bigger HVAC companies and he does the installation himself. Today I got earlier before 8AM in case I am the first call. By 3PM, I am still waiting. I got a call from the technician that he will arrive in 20 mins., so much for the 30 minutes advance call. Joel Hernandez finally arrived at 3:45Pm. He was very polite and pleasant and I really liked the job he did. He was thorough and explained everything to me. My problem is not with Joel but with GAC. The 8 hour window is ridiculous, inconvenient, and frustrating. I have been a customer since 2013. Bring back the 4 hour window so I am not restricted to be within 30 minutes from my house if I want to do some errands. Otherwise I have to look elsewhere for my HVAC and electrical needs.

There was an initial mixup about the appointment time, but that was soon sorted, and Saul contacted me prior to his arrival and arrived on time. Quickly getting to work, he identified the problem with our gas insert. He was able to fix the immediate problem to return it to working order and then explained what was happening and why. The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.
