Street parking on the perimeter of the park as well as in the surrounding neighborhood (all free but there is a 2-3 hr time restriction). I've never had trouble finding parking within a few blocks, and don't think you can outsmart parking attendants and make your own parking spot in a clearly designated no-parking zone because I saw a vehicle getting ticketed for that lol.

The space was beautiful and easy to decorate, and was perfect for our crowd, and would be perfect for any gathering. There were several metal picnic benches large enough for 9 people per bench and the space had a nice roof/canopy to keep us out of the sun. There were bathrooms close by, so that was very helpful. There was plenty of toilet paper on hand, and a blower to dry your hands but no running water. I would recommend bring a large container of water, and wipes and set up away from the crowd for emergency hand washing. There were also two drinking fountains, but no running water there either. So come prepared.

There's a lot here, the park, the zoo, Fairytale Town, picnic benches, playground, plenty of areas for sports, and even performances. There's a good amount of designated parking as well, and while it's an expansive park, it's pretty easy to navigate. We stopped by on an early morning to take out dog for a walk while the weather was still on the cooler side. We explored and kept mostly to the sidewalks. Other people in the park were friendly as we walked past and there were a lot of other people with dogs as well. We noticed that at about 10am the park got a lot more crowded, so we were glad we were on our way out versus just arriving. If you're looking for less people early is definitely better. We had a lot of fun exploring and getting some steps in here.

On my most recent visit I attended a picnic and didn't walk that morning in exchange for enjoying a walk around the park. A friend and I walked the two mile loop while catching up. One of the many highlights I enjoy about Land Park is seeing the old school cars on Sundays.

Capital Park is a beautiful place. Definitely worthy of a visit in Sacramento. I have been here…read moremany many times; most recently over the past few years I have come here on my way to or from protests. However, I was having lunch in the area last week and realized I have never reviewed it. The highlight of the park for me is the beautiful World Peace Rose Garden, which is especially stunning right now because all of the roses are in bloom. The gardens' central fountain creates a peaceful atmosphere and makes this a wonderful place to relax and walk around or sit and just enjoy the scenery. I almost always have my dog with me and she loves watching all the squirrels in the park and there are so many settings that make for a great photo ops of her. There are also lots of great manicured paths for me to walk with her. Another thing that I love about this park is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. As the mother of a veteran, I am always very moved by this tribute to those who have served. The statues are incredibly well done and it's a beautiful space for some quiet reflection. Parking can sometimes be hard and expensive, but it's a lovely park where I am rarely bothered, no matter how busy it can get at times. I definitely recommend stopping by if you haven't already and I will continue to return to this park again and again whenever I'm downtown.

We even came on a windy day, and it was still a wonderful place to be. It is so spacious that it's the perfect spot to fly kites. Because it's so clean and well maintained, this might just become the park I bring my kids to most often, and it is definitely a top choice for hosting future family events! I love the layout, especially how they designed the two separate grass areas where one sits at a lower elevation, while the other is level with the rest of the park. But honestly, what really blew me away was the restroom. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but I'm serious! So many park restrooms are cold, dark, dirty, and lacking privacy. This one felt downright luxurious. It is completely temperature controlled, which was especially nice since it was breezy outside! It was warm, well lit, exceptionally clean, and had absolutely no odor. It even sounded like it had a great ventilation system running. The only minor downside was the lack of toilet seat covers, but that's an easy fix. The entire park feels pretty new with a beautiful, modern design, conveniently located right behind the Sky River Casino. Highly recommend checking it out! Rate: 10/10

Located in South…read moreNatomas with PLENTY of free parking next to the Library and Community Center, in bloom since 2008. The roses were Georgeous, but not too fragrant. Unfortunately you could see that the hot Sacramento sun was starting to take a bit of a toll on the beautiful buds, but nature is as nature does. It's a small but very cute, open area with several benches. It surrounded by cement which makes it perfect for weddings and other events. Gorgeous way to spend a part of your day.

Rose beds are arranged in a circular formation while climbing roses are grown on 10-ft tall trellises (the Grand Trellis here makes a good photo backdrop). I visited in late April. Most of the garden was still dormant but there were a few spots that couldn't wait to bloom with a bang (the roses that I saw were huge!). Was nice to see that even at this time the entire garden was well-kept (tidy walkways, absence of weeds in the rose beds, etc.). Free to visit. Plentiful parking. Definitely recommend taking a peek especially during peak blooming season!
