I just had my dog groomed at Critter Corral and I had an average experience. I asked for my dog to have a schnauzer cut (even though she's only half schnauzer, I love that cut in her!) and when I got her back she was just shaved all around. I also didn't like you cannot go into the facility to see if it's clean or not because of "Covid" and had to call to get someone to get her. However, I called that day and they were able to get her in last minute for an appointment, which I did appreciate. Not horrible, just not my favorite place. read more

I have brought my border collie/golden retriever, Solstice, to Critter Corral twice now. I don't foresee bringing her anywhere else for her grooming needs!! Solstice comes back to us happy, beautiful, and ready to show off her new do. One of my fears when looking for groomers is bringing my dog to a person that'll mistreat her, but I fully trust that Jennifer treats Solstice with love and care! She does a wonderful job of listening and fulfilling requests, making both Solstice and I completely comfortable. I confidently say that Solstice is in great hands whenever I leave her with Jennifer! We asked for a hygienic trim and our Australian shepherd came out completely shaved. His rear end and chest seem like chunks were taken out. We also requested the de-shedding treatment and he seems to be shedding more than before! His hair was blowing all over the car when we picked him up. Yes, they do cats! My cat Lucy was badly in need of a bath, and she had a big section of very matted fur on her back. I was able to get an appointment with Jennifer, the groomer who does cats, and we agreed that if she couldn't untangle that matted mass, she would shave it off. When Jennifer told me that she'd had to shave it and Lucy looks a little odd, I didn't know what to expect. When I got her home and let her out of the carrier, I was delighted to see Lioness Lucy. She looks beautiful! Jennifer is an artist, as well as being as nice as she can be. By the way, that mass was huge and I can only imagine how hard it was to separate it from Lucy. I decided to find a new grooming salon because I haven't been really happy with my dog's recent past groomers so I found this place on Yelp. It was a little hard to find but I managed to get here. One thing I really liked about this salon is that it is cage free and once I walked in, the employee that greeted me was really friendly. She listened attentively to what I preferred my dog to look like and why I decided to find a new groomer, and she definitely delivered! When I came to pick up my little sweet dog, she was exactly how I wanted her to look. Prices were pretty decent too. One of the first things I noticed when walking in was WOW were all of the dogs calm and relaxed. Every other cageless grooming shop I have been to, the dogs are usually going NUTS and stressed out from the groom. All of these dogs were straight chillin in their little cubbies quietly waiting their turn. I'm pretty picky about how I like my dog, and Jennifer was kind enough to go over everything and ask specific questions to understand what I like/dislike. Not only that, but we were chatting for awhile and she is soooo sweet!!!! You can tell she truly cares about each dog, their happiness, and their well being. 500 stars for Jennifer! This place is tucked into a run down strip mall...almost no signage. The door is locked and you can only drop your animal after calling to have them open the door....curtains completely closed. When they did the door, the smell of dog urine was so strong it nearly knocked me out. My first visit here and my pup really needed grooming or else I would have turned and left. Very weird vibe. Very expensive ...and I live in north Scottsdale...I was shocked considering the location. Dog grooming was good so no complaints...but post your prices!!! If you do not allow people inside, at least open the curtain...and clean your place. I won't be returning. read more

Took my fur baby here a few weeks ago. My husband actually dropped him off, i just set up the appointment. This groomers is super affordable and listened to what my husband requested for juniors look. He turned out super handsome . We didnt catch the name of the lady who groomed him but she was very hands on and sweet to our baby. She brushed his teeth for free and even said she would cut his nails in between hair cuts. My German Shepherd and Small Aussie mix we're perfectly groomed during the holidays! I've never been so impressed with a groomer. My German Shepherd had a weird allergic reaction to the their natural products they used and his body was covered in scabs (MY DOG HAS SEVERE ALLERGIES IN GENERAL). When I called the owner after taking him to the vet, she asked to me to bring him back in to put the medicated soap on and was SO kind and apologetic (even though it wasn't their fault). I was so impressed with how willing they were to help me out with my fur baby's allergies. This is now my favorite grooming salon for Harley. I used to take him to Petsmart -- bad haircuts from different people. Critter Corral is a warm, friendly environment. No crates or barking dogs.
