Crispy Grindz in Haleʻiwa has quickly become a spot I recommend, mainly because of their pao de…read morequeijo. They make them in a unique way, pressing the dough on a waffle iron so the outside comes out crispy and crunchy while the inside stays chewy. The four-pack is the way to go--plenty for one person and shareable for two, but I wouldn't try splitting it beyond that because you'll definitely want more than one for yourself. I've also tried the coxinha and the ham and cheese pastel, which were good, though not as much of a standout as the pao de queijo. Everything is served very fresh, so fresh in fact that I burned my mouth on the pastel because of the steam pocket inside, so it's worth letting things cool a little before biting in. Seating is all outdoors at picnic tables with umbrellas, and while there's usually space available, you might need to share a table if it's busy. There's no cooling, so it can get hot during the day even with the shade. Parking is on the street out front. I've never had trouble finding a spot, but pulling in and out can be tricky if there's traffic going by. Overall I'd give Crispy Grindz 4 stars. The pao de queijo alone makes it worth stopping for, while the other items I tried were good but not the best I've had. I haven't tried the bowls or other menu items, so I can't comment on those, but if you're in the area the pao de queijo is something I definitely recommend.

The acai was not as sweet as I'm used to, which is a personal preference. The acai was a bit watery though so it was a bit hard to eat. However, the amount of toppings was very generous and the fruits were good. The portion didn't really seem worth it for the price though. The vibes were overall good here though, the truck is kinda like a surf truck. Like how they feature local surf news and riders. The service was also good as well, workers were very nice and we didn't have to wait too long for our acai. Not bad at all, but not the best acai in Haleiwa or on island.

He boldly went up to the vendor and asked for a sample which I embarrassingly looked away but he was given a piece (hey, closed mouths don't get fed) and he was immediately set on getting something from here. He got the ribs plate, I was $35 and came with salad, rice, and fries. It took a while for it to be ready, like 30 minutes, but I do understand as when it came out, it was literally a GIANT rib piece. He cut the meats off the rib and started nawing on it like a cave man. It was a very enjoyable experience for him, although, it was clear that the meat was a bit chewy and tough. The chewiness and toughness was a big let down for sure, as for all the meat that he cut off from the bone, they were all very hard to eat. HOWEVER, it was very flavorful, so I guess it is the trade-off from the way they smoke/cook it. We also added a chorizo, it was flavorful and juicy, obviously much easier to eat. The fries were good, some pieces soaked up the meat flavor which was yum. The salad was underneath the meat and got sooo greasy I couldn't eat it, the tomatoes were good though. Overall, I feel like the ribs plate was super worth it. However, you just have to be ready to put your teeth and jaw through a bit of a battle.

While the flavour was there, the day we got them, it was quite tough to cut and rather chewy which was disappointing. A lot went to waste. Don't forget to add your choice of side sauces on the table in front of the truck! All 3 are excellent. Service is quick. The wait in the courtyard is pleasant, specially if there is a breeze and the sun is a little lower, quite comfortable.

We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table to wait for our order. We had a short wait because we came in on the earlier side of the dinner hour. We tried the bean and cheese pupusa, pollo asado and steak fajitas along with a couple of sodas. With tax and tip and because we paid with credit card it came out to over $70. Definitely on the pricier side, but all of our food was fresh and tasty, and the portions are large- we had plenty of steak and rice left. If you're not familiar with Salvadoran food, it's a lot more subtle in terms of flavors. Don't come in thinking of bold, in your face flavor. Perfect for people who are sensitive to spice. I believe this is the only Salvadoran spot on Oahu - happy we got to try it out!

I would have liked it better as a plate if they added black beans, cream and cheese on the side. The good thing is I could have ordered those as sides. My daughter in law loved the empanadas. I tasted it and it was better than I expected and it had mucho sabor (flavor). Curtido was not as hot(taste) For dessert we ordered horchata which was surprisingly amazing!!!!!! And the churros were even better! Hot, sweet and filled with yummy goodness! Bathroom is extra clean! No changing table. Pretty happy with this place. If you need Salvadorean food in Hawaii this will scratch your itch for it pretty good.
