I may have enjoyed the Classic OG crispy burger more on second thought. Maybe I need to come back here and try it again. The burger itself isn't too expensive compared to the price of McDonald's nowadays, but once you start adding sides and milkshakes it gets to be pretty pricy. The milkshakes are on the expensive side at $9 (almost as much as the burger). One big downside is that there is absolutely no indoor/outdoor seating available here. Of note, the kiosk had more options than ordering based on the overhead menu, including a California style burger that had avocado and another burger that had a hash brown patty slipped inside. OG double crispy burger ($8.99): Patties smashed super flat and crispy. I could not actually taste the thousand Island sauce, but the grilled onions were mixed in the super gooey decadent cheese. I am surprised this restaurant is not more well-known. The OG burger is better than Friendly's (which is always cited as one of the best burgers in SD), although neither this place nor Friendly's are my #1 burger. Small burger joint serving up "healthy" bites by using avocado oil for their fries and no seed oils (per their website) I got a single burger and my husband got a double. I got half fries and half onion rings and a drink. Both combos ran us about $35 with tip. The service was fine, you order at the counter and wait. They seemed busy as one person was just taking phone orders and the other 3 were cooking/ manning the register. The lady who helped me at the register was nice, but I did have to wait a few minutes for her to finish at the fryer. The guy who walked in behind me just stood there awkwardly for at least 3 minutes waiting to even order his food. The place is small with a slim bar to sit down, but no tables. It was clean and there was a TV. If you've had in and out or tanners, this is not that. The burgers have a thousand island sauce very similar to in and outs and tanners. The flavor wanted to be there, but didn't quite make the mark. It was a "good" burger, but not worth going back in my opinion. I rather go cheap for in and out or spend the extra $5 for Tanners. The fries and onion rings were perfectly crispy and I really enjoyed how sweet the onions were. Their ranch is on the runny side but I actually enjoy that. Now to the burger, it was very juicy and the All American is a classic with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, and onions on a very tender brioche bun. They are located right off the hwy and share a parking lot with Starbucks. Parking: Limited - they share a lot with Starbucks. Since my last visit they have added a breakfast menu.  The owner suggested I try a Monster Breakfast Sandwich.  Brioche bun was soft with a tasty sweet flavor.  Lettuce was crisp.  Tomato was crisp and added a fresh tart flavor.  Hash brown was crunchy on the outside and full of potato flavor.  Egg was cooked fully just the way I like and was fluffy with a bold egg flavor.  Burger patty had a nice char on it and I liked the beef flavor.  Sausage was shaped like a burger patty and I loved the savory flavor.  Bacon was crunchy and had a nice salty flavor.  All those flavors overloaded my brain and put a happy smile on my face. When I was a kid for snacks I alternated between Twinkies, Ding Dong's, and Zingers.  I was wowed when the owner offered me a Ding Dong shake.   I didn't know Ding Dong shakes existed.  Shake was cold and sweet with flavor a bit like cookies and cream shake.  There is a piece of Ding Dong on top.  Amazing tasting shake which reminds me of my childhood and having an actual piece of Ding Dong sent the flavor over the top. We were here on a Sunday evening after discovering it during a trip last summer. We love the cozy location and Angela and her family offer amazing service. Our regret from last year was that we ordered singles and they were so delicious that we were left wanting more! So this time, we ordered American triples, 50/50 fries/rings and an impossible crispy burger. The verdict? Unfortunately, the triples weren't crispy and the impossible burger tasted soapy for some reason. Angela did check in with us and I politely shared my honest feedback. She did let me know what their patties are larger now and they can be ordered extra crispy -- good to know for next time! As for the soapy impossible burger, no idea -- they did offer to make it up and comp something off the menu, but we were already full! This was as far as a smash burger can go. As good as a smash burger gets. I've been a customer for some time, and it began as an easy 5 stars. Perfectly smashed burgers with lacy, fatty, brown edges, salted immediately after the flip. Just the right amount of sauce. Now, their cooks are worse, their service is worse, the owner is around a whole lot less, and in my opinion, it shows. Food service is hard and I get it. I apologize to the owners for my lack of appreciation for all the hard work this place is. In this case, this place started as something special.
