Chef Bernstein first featured her fried chicken at her upper east side restaurant Michy's which closed in 2014. The fried chicken was one of her most requested dishes so she brougt it back in the form of a fast casual resturant concept, Michy's Chicken Shack, The chicken is marinated overnight in buttermilk and then seasoned with fresh tarragon, Dijon mustard, celery seed, and black pepper before being fried to order. The fried chicken is then featured in sandwiches, salads, and dinners. Sides include coleslaw, cheddar biscuits, and B&B pickles. Dessert is an apple empanada. My friend and I decided to split an order of the chicken tenders served with fries and an order of the cheddar biscuits.
