    Crisp, Lynchburg
    Bruce K.

Excellent lunch today and we sat outside. Crisp is a salad made-to-order and they have a very organized system. Yes, there are some excellent suggestions including Baja (black beans, cheddar, chipotle ranch), Caesar (parmesan garlic croutons, romaine lettuce) and Greek (cucumber, tomatoes, feta cheese, olives) but you can also assemble your salad your way from the different lettuces, toppings, proteins and dressings. And they mix it up right in front of you and it's ready to go. I chose the Cobb salad and it was delicious. Tomatoes, hard boiled egg (sliced up right then!), blue cheese crumbles, diced chicken, bacon, and blue cheese dressing, thoroughly mixed with romaine lettuce. It was, uh, crisp. And delicious and at the end, I felt not only full but also like I'd made a healthy choice. Masks required, inside dining or tables outside along the street. BBQ and Blue (left) & the Greek.

I have been in a handful of times, consistently, the staff is happy and polite. I find the salads to be divine! The greek salad is as traditional and tasty as you would expect, and some of the more eclectic juxtapositions like the BBQ and Blue are a fantastic surprise of flavor (who would have thought bacon blue cheese bbq and strawberry??) Yes, it works! Get in there, its for the hella health conscious thats demands good flavor!

Decent- not the best place I've been! I ordered from crisp while visiting in Lynchburg yesterday and did a BYO bowl with grains + salad, I also got the Baja salad for dinner. My BYO bowl was good, but I added steak and couldn't eat much of the steak at all with how undercooked it was. The Baja bowl was delicious, but I got chicken with and it didn't taste quite right, so I ended up picking it to the side and not eating it. I would likely order from here again, but I would forego any protein in my order.

Not a whole lot needs to be said here. If you like delicious, make-you-feel-good-when-you're-done, healthy food made with fresh ingredients then look no further than Crisp! I had the Pesto Chicken Bowl (double chicken add Avocado), it was everything I described above and more. Also got the Peanut Butter Banana Chia Pudding which was the bomb too. Do something good for your body and mind, skip the fast food and come to Crisp!

I love Crisp! It is my favorite place to get a salad in Lynchburg. However, I wish you all were open later during the dinner hours

One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

The crust is a little tough and requires quite a bit of extra chewing, which I was not prepared for. Nevertheless, it was pretty good. I ordered the southern barbecue pizza without bacon. It included brisket, chicken, corn, red onions, and a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken was unseasoned. I think the pizza would have tasted would have tasted better with a little seasoning on the chicken. However, the star of my dinner was the Downeast Caramel Apple cider on tap. However good you think it sounds, it tastes SO much better than that. If you happen to be near this restaurant during the last few weeks of fall, you HAVE to try this. As a matter of fact, if you see this cider at ANY bar or restaurant you're at, you must try it. Absolutely amazing! My server did an incredible job being pretty much the only server on the floor in a mostly packed restaurant. The bartender was on the floor waiting tables as well but between the two of them, they did an incredible job. Overall, this wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but after a long day of travel, it hit the spot.

All while respecting the conversation going on at the table and being mindful not to interrupt. I started with a glass of sweet tea. One sip and I knew I was in the south, for real. Perfectly sweetened, like a glass of 'Southern Champagne' should be. I started with an order of fried pickles. The portion was more than enough to share and they were everything I wanted them to be. Battered and fried, and served with a generous portion of cool and creamy ranch dressing for dipping. A southern staple, and this place did it right. For lunch I had the Reuben with a side of fries. The bread was perfectly toasted and crispy, the sandwich was stuffed with lots of tasty corned beef and sauerkraut, and the fries were piping hot. I'm glad I had a light breakfast that morning because that sandwich was so filling and so good. I noticed that they also serve breakfast all day. My coworkers both decided to get breakfast entrees for lunch, and they looked amazing. Especially those biscuits. The table beside me ordered a huge plate of pumpkin pancakes. I could smell them from the second the server brought them out from the kitchen. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to check out their breakfast options. This is a charming and quaint little eatery in downtown Lynchburg and I definitely recommend giving it a try if you find yourself on, or near, Main Street.
