This restaurant is run by the owners, Uday and his wife. He makes EVERYTHING from scratch. It's a small place and operated by just the two of them, so they sometimes run out of things. But that's because it's so good! When we came here for the first time with our 14 month old granddaughter, Uday made up a mango puree for her and brought it out. You don't get that kind of care just anywhere.

Came here on a weekday lunch! The place was busy. The owners, Uday and his wife Timby are naturally very kind and hospitable people! Usually, Timby is the waitress but today Uday was cooking and waiting tables at the same time. With all that he had going on, he was efficient in taking orders, serving, and cooking all at the same time! Since Uday was scurrying around, we quietly just found our own tables. Within a few minutes, Uday came to us and took our food orders, Lamb Biryani and Dal Makhani with Basmati rice on the side. The Lamb was specially imported from New Zealand. Uday mentioned to me that refused to buy low-quality Lamb sheep meat sold at Big Box stores. He took great pride in quality food. We could tell he was balancing several responsibilities all at the same time. Within a few minutes, Timby arrived taking on the waitressing, which gave Uday a few minutes to breathe. We were surprised that as busy he was he took the time to come over and even sat at our table for a few minutes to speak to us. Customer service extraordinaire! The food arrived warm and fresh! It was absolutely delicious and spicy. He even gave some of his special pickles and relishes that is only made fresh at this restaurant. This may want to tweak a little bit here and there but I highly recommend this place and wish them success!

This establishment was tasty but seemed to confuse me. Everything here seems to have some measure of vinegar that I wasn't used to. Even the butter chicken that normally is a silky, tomato based, creamy curry had some measure of vinegar. Despite that this place is not bad! The food came out in a reasonable timeframe and the hummus tasted fresh! I wished the pita was a bit hotter, it came out ice cold but it served as an adequate vehicle for the hummus. The food was, smaller then I expected for the price. The gyro I ate was pretty good despite this fact but it felt... skinny? for a gyro? Not an adjective I thought I would ever have to use for a gyro but here we are. Every curry ordered by my friends was at an adequate spice level but seemed a bit small for the price paid and everything had vinegar in it. It might just be the type of cuisine sold here. Honestly the best thing was the baklava. It's been a long time since I've had baklava this good and even for the asking price of $2 for a sliver, I would pay it. It's that good. Come here if you want something new!

Ok .. soooh i was feeling some kinda way like "kings" sometimes do i rolled up to Lynchburg checked out Biff at Bowen's Jewelry and got hungry i read a review about this place yesterday.. it's right down the street soooh ooppss here it is.. my review i ordered a chicken gyro and lamb biriyani the vibe here is super cool.. the cafe is right .. a eclectic family place .. the chef takes the order and brings the food.. he probably got a phd in something and doing this for the love of cooking the kitchen is open, everything is super clean the food is really good he will ask you, do you want it medium or hot say medium.. trust me on this!! the accompanying rice with the lamb biriyani was great, the lil surprises of sweet currant were awesome. i sipped a very unique house made arnold palmer give this business a opportunity if you're nearby God Bless You and Good Luck

If I could give a minus 10 I would. I called in my order for four, after spending nearly $100, I waited and waited for my time to pick up. my call never came, but I was told he called. I looked at my phone there had been no call. I do not like to write poor reviews, but I have to. I think pictures are worth their weight in gold. Here, a photo of the falafels. The rest of the other food is unopened. we are traveling through.

This great little cafe used to be near monument Terrance, but they were forced to find a new location. They found a great spot right across the street from the community market. The decor inside was great with an exposed brick wall with real hardwood floors. This location was a great upgrade for this place. The other good news is the food is just as amazing as it was in its old location. The buffet was well stocked and everything was fresh. The owner cane around to ensure you were satisfied with the food offers and offered to bring us some bread. All the food tasted great and was hot and fresh. I highly recommend this cafe for some amazing Lebanese and Indian food. We went for the lunch buffet and they even have some amazing Baklava for dessert on the buffet.

Decent little Indian Mediterranean infusion in Lynchburg downtown. Quaint setting that is very warm and friendly. Everyone is a friend as soon as they walk through the door. I had the yellow curry medium, which was fairly spicy. The mango lassy was delicious and seemed to be blended with the ice a little, which was very refreshing on a 95 degree afternoon. The server was very talkative, fun and friendly, as was the owner. The buffet is closed presently due to the pandemic. All staff wear masks and they took extra care in maintaining 6 feet distancing for all seating.

A notable reason to do that would be that they offer dosas on Saturdays, but not to go (a thin crepe tends not to travel well). I got takeout, and despite ordering on their website they did not seem to be on top of that order when I arrived. It didn't matter to me, and I would suggest that seekers of food that has that home-cooked taste would be well advised not to be overly time-sensitive. I was offered a handful of pakodas while I waited to ensure that I had something fresh to eat despite taking most of my food to go. Attention was also paid to my dietary needs, as they asked me if adding a dairy-containing raita on the side to my otherwise vegan order was okay. Their menu is not huge, the portion size is not huge for the money, but the flavor was huge. From the curry leaves sauteed onto the little side of potatoes they gave me to the rich spice mix of dal to the flaky indulgence of the paratha on the side, the experience was dynamic. Their appetizers come in bulk, but I'll have no problem finding a use for the extra onion pakodas that I vacuum sealed. I probably tried half of the vegetarian things on their menu, but I left wondering when I'd find myself back this way again so I can try the other half.

Service is table-side but you pay at the desk. Portions are large and most people end up taking a box home. I'd say for two people, get two dishes to share and a single appetizer, too. They will allow a lot of alterations to your dishes and are careful to meet your spice tolerance. Do not expect a lot of answers on what exactly this or that dish is; the wait staff know how to put the orders in but not the intricacies of what separates chicken tikka from chicken tikka masala. The space is small, but I have gone with my wife and with 12 people and had no problems getting seating. Do check the times they are open, because if it's within 30 minutes of closing they can probably only get your food for you to-go. Most people like the skewered meat or korma-type foods. I'd say an order of naan is NOT sufficient for two people, so order double or a mix of two types (they have over 6 to choose from). If you don't do meat, they have fish dishes. And if you are vegetarian you'll be fine, but probably not a lot for a vegan. They also have a fusion East Asian section at the back of the menu. I've tried it and like it, but I'd say it's a bit heavier than the rest of the menu. TL;DR - If you don't know what something is, use their wifi and google it. It's a simpler process than asking the waitress who will ask the cook who will explain it to her so she can remember half of it and explain it to you. Also, usually a good idea to pair one meat dish with one vegetarian if you are splitting with someone. Maybe try one thing new and one old trusted item (saag paneer).

For some time now, I've been looking forward to eating here because I've been hearing many good things about this restaurant, that had been open for less than a year now. When we arrived it was already dark outside, but during this time of the year it gets dark early. The restaurant was well lit from outside and its sign on the small parking lot was lit from inside and had photos of some of their food. It also mentioned that their food was Halal quality. This means that it did not contain pork. Inside, the place was clean and decorated very simple with large size poster prints of photos from some of the cultures of the food and cuisine served here. The dining room was on the left of the building and had booths along the left wall and two persons tables and chairs as well. The owner and host came out and greeted us with a warm welcome, handing us copies of the menu which was very well designed with glossy photos next to the food entrées listed there. This was very helpful because it gave a visual sense of the food, of which many I didn't know, making it easier to order. To drink there were some large display refrigerators full of different drinks for us to reach and get one. To start with since this was our first time eating there, the owner brought us bowls of their Chicken Soup from thebAppetizers section in the menu. This soup was amazingly delicious. Simply the best Children Soup that I have ever had. I urge you to view the photographs that I took to accompany my review and you will get a better sense of it deliciousness. For it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Then we decided to get several dishes to share among all of us imitating the culture of the cuisine. Among the entrées we ordered were: The Fresh Lamb Tikka Kabab, the Bulani kachalo, Chicken Beryani, the Qurma Potatoes, Chick Pea, Eggplant, Salad Afghani Style Plate Mix, and some Special bread. All the food looked wonderful and tasted even better. For dessert we had the Sherpayra (Milk Fudge) and Afghan Mixed Cookies with a cup of a Special Tea. Afterwards we took a tour of the Grocery, on the right side of the building, and observed all the items available, from foods, to rugs, to jewelry, to an indefinite variety of Afghan items. I highly recommend this restaurant as one of a kind, of its kind. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, the food was amazingly delicious, and the service provided was very welcoming and friendly. I definitely think we should all support this new restaurant and tell our friends about it. I know I will enthusiastically.
