After being a customer for decades, and being treated like dirt while Verizon chased new customers, we left for good. A deluge of unnecessary confusion to make a very long story short. Followed by another confusing deluge of emails so we're still not sure what was done, if anything to our program. Went to a bigger Verizon location for help which was given, but definitely considering changing carriers as they all try to upsell you to some degree and were still not sure if our program was effed with or not but you can BEST BELIEVE we are going to get to the bottom of the situation! My friend, a paying Verizon customer, was simply following standard procedure by handing over her ID when asked. Instead of processing the request professionally, the employee looked at her ID, then at her, and said, "You look different." My friend, caught off guard, responded, "Okay." Then, in an absolutely disgusting and inappropriate moment, the employee said, "You used to be prettier." And to top it off? They shrugged and added, "Sorry. It's true." Are you kidding me? What kind of business allows their employees to insult customers to their faces? This isn't just unprofessional--it's mean-spirited, demeaning, and completely unacceptable in any customer service setting. This employee should not be working in a role that requires any level of professionalism or human decency, because clearly, they lack both. I sincerely hope Verizon takes immediate action to address this. If this is how your staff feels they can treat customers, then you can be sure I will never recommend Verizon to anyone and will make sure others know exactly what kind of treatment they might receive.
