Michael was friendly and offered some tips on navigating the course. I did not particularly play well here, but I enjoyed my round. There were several blind shots and I got lost once and re-routed myself. The course was in nice condition. My GPS unit was really off on yardages, this is a first. I wondered if perhaps the course was re-done or what.......I guess they'd only revised tee boxes not yardages to greens. Kind of confusing on colors, Whites are forward, teals more middle, blacks further back. Bonus: I saw two deer off the tenth fairway on the right side. They were just peacefully sitting there. I asked if I could play thru. I played from the teal tees as that seemed appropriate. I wish I would have played the Whites (forward tees). All in all, it was a nice time, not too windy. I browsed the pro shop and had a beer at the counter after my round. Nice, cozy little set up to relax inside after golf. Parking lot and course was busy early and then quieted down for the mid-afternoon.

Fish is local (Rogue/Bay Front), salad greens were fresh and sauces were home made. Fish tacos were good, hard to make a mistake there. Coleslaw was fresh and crisp. Menu offered salads, sandwiches, soup and appetizers. Reasonable prices. Our server was a bit brisk and distracted while taking our order. As she walked away, I noted she was busy and she replied that an order was up that she needed to serve. She recovered nicely though and we realized that she is the only one there aside from the cook. This course was built in like 1955, so it is tight in a number of areas. Plenty of opportunities to lose golf balls as the are streams running all around the place and the rough is, well, the rough. One of the holes you have to walk out and see the hole out about 150 yards and guesstimate where you are going as you are about 80 or so feet above the green. A fun course with no frills and plenty of nice scenery. It appears the restaurant is only open certain times of the year as it was closed when I went here. Nice pro shop with friendly help. Give this one a try, but bring plenty of extra balls!

Read about this one and had to check it out. 18 hole course opened up earlier this year. Newest course I've ever played. Woods up in this area are thick. Making a course from scratch in these woods is quite the endeavour. I'd say it was done quite well. Cement tee boxes on each hole. New signs on each hole. About half the holes have an amateur pin and pro pin. Both baskets are in on these holes at all times. I played on amateur and finished 2 over par. A fantastic round for me. I probably had 4-5 birdies and fell apart on a few holes with double or triple bogies. The course is very short and technical with thick woods and narrow alleys between trees. As someone with only a 250' drive, these are my favourite type of courses. Luckily I didn't lose a disc, but I did spend a decent amount of time looking for them, especially in the first few holes before I enlisted my friend to be the 'spotter.' This helped us locate the discs when they went off path. Hole 13 is confusing in terms of the mandatory right/left. The hole sign says left, but the arrows on the tree say right. Perhaps a typo. Signage is pretty good, but could be better for sure. We did get lost on one hole and walked around for a bit. Some of the holes with detailed direction signage were much more intuitive. Having the direction to next hole on every sign would have been helpful. All in all a fun course and a great addition to Waldport!

It's a good lush and green classical Oregon links course. It's well manicured and usually the pace of place moves quickly. They have a fairly nice range where most of the time (when it's not raining) you can hit off the grass. Easy to get to since it's right before you get to Oregon State University from I-5.

The large party room attached to the cafe is open at each end, and the party flowed out onto the patios. There were about 80 of us, and the room accommodated us easily. The food, catered by the cafe, was fresh, delicious and attractively served. The cost was VERY reasonable. Our guests had a lovely time. Good sound system! Kudos to the entire team!
