This course was built in like 1955, so it is tight in a number of areas. Plenty of opportunities to lose golf balls as the are streams running all around the place and the rough is, well, the rough. One of the holes you have to walk out and see the hole out about 150 yards and guesstimate where you are going as you are about 80 or so feet above the green. A fun course with no frills and plenty of nice scenery. It appears the restaurant is only open certain times of the year as it was closed when I went here. Nice pro shop with friendly help. Give this one a try, but bring plenty of extra balls!

Although there are a few 9 hole courses in the area, Olalla Valley seems to have the most elevation changes. Many of the holes are unique and do not just run back and forth along one piece of land. The lack of bunkers and water hazards (other than the occasional creek crossing) make it playable for golfers of higher handicaps as well. Although it's not as GREEN as some courses, golf isn't supposed to be perfectly manicured. One improvement that could be made is to speed the greens up just a tad and I would throw in a few bunkers here and there, but now I'm just getting greedy. I will be back!

They have a restaurant on site (Pirate's Brunch) that offers breakfast and lunch all day. My child dumped his lemonade all over himself and the staff helped us clean it up and gave us replacement lemonade free of charge. No alcohol options yet but per the staff they are waiting on approval and should be offering adult beverages soon.

My fiancé and I went to escape the heat in pdx this weekend, and I found this scenic retreat just…read morenorth of Newport, and we fell in LOVE!! We got up to the entera de and paid $7 to park and walk around a whole preserved Oregon park! It was so worth it because there were very few people there (compared to any other beach we've been to north of Tillamook). We drove around, parked, and walked on some of the trails to start out. We went over to the lighthouse that's kind of stunning because it's been kept up so well. Once we got over there, I realized MY FAMILY BROUGHT ME HERE GROWING UP UNTIL I WAS OLDER!!! I got emotional and my fiancé was just so excited to be apart of where I used to travel to in the summers. The steps to get down to Cobble Beach are kind of steep - but not too bad. Probably around 200 steps to get all the way down to the charcoal stones that line the beach. If you want sand, don't come to this part of the peninsula; this cobble stone coastline is meant for people who just want to be with the sounds of nature; by that I mean sit on some of the smoothed over rocks and just LISTEN!! The stones cascade together creating an amazing sound that just humbled us. We sat on the bottom of the stairs (there's a small ledge that's right at the base kind of hidden) and just watched the waves and listened to the cobble stone clatter. There were a few seals hunting at that time right were we were sitting and they kept checking out the few people that were down on the beach. We were here for around 2 hours, and I wish we didn't have to rush up to tillamook because I would've stayed here probably until sunset. Hands down beautiful, and we are going to be back within the next month or so

Not difficult to navigate, and lots of cool animals to look at. And places to relax with a view of part of the ocean or lake, or whatever body of whatever it is. I had a good time.

It's an average aquarium. I've been to a few different aquariums in the US. This one is on the…read moresmaller side. They do a cute little pelican show. They have the Shark Tank that you walk under. My favorite was the penguins. Puffins are my favorite. The otters are the true center of attention in this facility. They do a feeding show a couple times a day. I did get a breakfast burrito at the little café. It was only five dollars and it was OK. It's a good way to spend a couple of hours if you're in Newport.

Meh ... great pool space and attendants although not for littles in any sort of independent way…read more(of course with them, but no place for them to be safe in super shallows with you). Locker rooms are gross and lockers are expensive and often broken anyway. Don't bother. Exercise facilities ... ok if you don't need any space to do anything and can rely on machines for your workout, and need no room to really do free weights. Stretching? Hah ... good luck. If there are more than two people trying to do anything you'll have to toss a coin for navigating the space. Also why does everyone think it's ok to stand in the stairwell and have a catch up conversation as loud as outside voices? Or converse on the phone while working out?! Track is nice. Gym space is beautiful but always filled with school groups as the schools don't have enough spaces (yay for the comm center supporting local schools but also why are they not supporting their own activities?) Staff at desk has been consistently rude or at a minimum seem annoyed you're there. I don't go anymore unless the grandkids are visiting and the weather is too sucky for beach time. It's just ... meh.

We laughed so much and tried so hard to escape the room. Only 32% escape the rooms, but we came SO CLOSE. The owner was great. He gave us hints on the monitor and they certainly helped us out. I would HIGHLY recommend putting this on your Oregon beach trip next visit there. Wonderful memories will be made!

We first tried hiking along Agate Beach, but found the 200 yards of hilly soft sand too much for…read moreus. We knew there was beach access at Nye Beach so we tried that and were pleased to find that there was very little soft sand to navigate. We knew that the parking lot access was free before 9 AM so we went earlier. Although the marine layer was thick, we had the beach to ourselves for the most part. One warning: if you head south, you will have to cross a creek. While it isn't deep, you will get your shoes wet.
