I mainly come to use the pool and hot tub to do water aerobics. The pool and weight rooms people are nice and they have life guards for the pool. Classes, lap swimming time and time for recreational water fun too are on the daily schedule. Their is a Senior Citizens Center located at the Community Center to so you can drop in for a coffee, and a pastry for a small donation. Their is a couple pool tables, board and card games can't say the people running the place is to friendly as many are kind of click like. I don't fit in with clicks so am considered a outsider even though I been going their for well over a decade. You might want to give it try who knows they might like you and make you feel welcome. Anyway overall I do get along with the people in the other areas of the community center as they are more then willing to be helpful and friendly. So I don't let one small group of old fogies' ruin it all for me.

It's very charming and adds a little edge with how barbaric some parts of the attraction are but it honestly was so fun and unique. I heard they're planning to demolish this style of playground (lots of blisters and spiders honestly, this place hasn't been well kept in a while and even has mold on a lot of the planks.) I will still be very sad to see it go. :/ I can see why this might not be such a major attraction to children for the lack of colors and honestly it looks a bit daunting and medieval but what's without a little fun with something unusual? I'm glad I got to experience it at least once before it goes and at least I made a memory with it now. Lovely view too of the lake and so pretty and quiet.

They have a restaurant on site (Pirate's Brunch) that offers breakfast and lunch all day. My child dumped his lemonade all over himself and the staff helped us clean it up and gave us replacement lemonade free of charge. No alcohol options yet but per the staff they are waiting on approval and should be offering adult beverages soon.

Completely our fault and we own that. We were looking for our reserved site and not paying attention to the speedometer. Our error. (Keep in mind that we are pulling a travel trailer in a campground so I can't imagine we were going over 8, but that does not matter one bit). We found our site (that we prepaid and were told to just pull in to) and were about to back in when, suddenly, Mr. Big Wheels came zooming straight for us. My husband rolls down the window (me, expecting him to say something along the lines of oh, our campsite is full and you need to check in first...), and dude quietly yells out 'There is a strict (pause...) 5mph speed limit...Posted all over (long pause, eyes fixed on my husband). My husband says nothing. Mr. Big Wheels just stares. My husband just stares. I then lean over and whisper 'okay.' He pauses some more, then pedals away (okay so maybe he was in a four-wheeler) and we proceed to set up camp. Time passes. Lady walks up to site and 'jokingly' says: 'Most people stop by the office when they get here!' Then she goes on to tell him about the rules and policies and the strict 5mph speed limit (knowingly smiling as she says this part)... Hubby just listens and simply says oh okay, the guy I talked to this morning gave me the site number and said to just pull in. She immediately stops and says oh, he's new. I'll have a talk with him tomorrow. Poor guy. Anyway, come stay here, enjoy the beauty and peace, and ignore the rude management, childish behavior, and unwelcoming vibe. Or not. They do not care one single bit about guests anyway. Alternative interaction: "Hi, welcome to our campground. Is this your site, as we are full right now. It is, great. Once you get settled, could you come to the office and we'll check you in. Also, we do have a strict 5mph speed limit here so just make sure you are keeping it under 5. Thank you."

I was here for the first time in October 2019, on my last (and I hope not final) trip to Oregon…read more Neskowin is a very, very low-key beach community full of holiday homes of of equally low-key Portlanders. While Cannon Beach has become a circus and unfortunately Manzanita looks to be on its way to share the same fate, Neskowin still retains its sleepy, off-the-beaten path vibe. Most people come here either for the beach, Proposal Rock itself or the Ghost forest. When I came, it was an overcast but warm October day with a deluge of rain that came in maybe 5 minutes after I left. The tide was also coming in high. As a result, I had the beach entirely to myself but Proposal Rock was completely surrounded by rough and dangerous surf. As the name suggests, there is indeed legend attached to Proposal Rock and many brides-to-be are proposed here. Unfortunately the waves here are very unpredictable and there have been a number of deaths and drownings around the Rock in recent years and persons taken out by rogue waves and never found again. So if you do decide to hike the Rock, make sure it's during low tide and during a safe day. The Ghost forest is another interesting feature of Neskowin. No one even knew it was here until 2007 when winter storms finally first exposed these ancient tree stumps in the water for the first time in who knows how long. It's the remains of a forest that was here when we can assume Jesus was walking around the Sea of Galilee and Romans were watching gladiator fights in the Coliseum. It's not much to look at but it's very interesting to meditate on given how old it is.

D River State Park is a really convenient beach access point in Lincoln City. There is a spacious…read morepaved parking lot, and the park offers lots of great amenities like restrooms, mobility mats for easy beach access, and educational signage for visitors. There is a promenade of sorts with benches between the parking lot and the beach. There are a fair number of benches that offer a perfect opportunity for sitting and taking in the gorgeous views. We experienced one of the best sunsets ever from this convenient beach. D River has a fun history as once being listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the shortest river. There is a little debate over that fact now, but it doesn't take away from the novelty. Visitors can explore the short river, collect rocks, fly a kite or just take in the views. Everyone is likely to enjoy this delightful park!

My Wife and I walked over on our way out. What a pleasant surprise. Granted, there is stiff competition with the ocean only a few yards away, literally but this small park has tons of charm. We sat on the bench next to the water and it was awesome. My Wife noticed a secret path that takes you further down the waters edge for some awesome relaxation. We startled a couple ducks chilling on the edge or rather, they startled me when I almost walked up to them before they moved and I noticed them. lol It's also a good place to let your pets roam but there are no pet waste bags available. So... BYOPPB The bathrooms were clean and the parking lot has several spots to add for beach access. There is even a place to store your surf board's while you're using the parks amenities.
