This park is SO cool. The wood play structure is huge and has so much for kids to do. There are swings on AstroTurf and other playground "rides." This park has lots of shade and it's fun for all ages of kids. Highly recommend it!

This is an awesome park... If you can get a parking spot! There isn't enough parking for how popular this part is. We drove through but couldn't stay. No Available Parking At All. Too bad because this park has a really nice lawn, on a Steep Hill but still an ok area to sit or sunbathe. The Dock is good size. Another great way to enjoy the park would be to Arrive via Boat. Plenty of parking at the dock. Lots of kids were having an awesome time swimming in the lake. There is also a good size Jungle Gym for the little ones. We didn't really check it out but the kids were going nuts with it. We'll see next time we come this way, if there will be parking......

This beautiful park is nestled in a neighborhood right off of highway 101. The view is breathtaking and the park is amazing. There is limited parking but ample seating. The playground is made of wood and is in good condition. They have a padded area with some pretty cool things that will make you dizzy and a few swings. There is a shallow area for swimming, a boat ramp, and a dock for fishing. There really is something for everyone. I can't wait to come back.

One of my kids favorite parks. When it's windy at the coast, we come here. Nice fishing spot from the dock and tons of updated playgrounds. The bathrooms are fairly decent.

Sprawling wooden playground with some unique constructs, in a scenic location which is fairly sheltered from the wind. Would make an excellent pit stop for a family to stretch its legs, just a mile or so off of 101. Clean bathrooms, sandy beach, and ample green lawn for walking pets. Our kids had a phenomenal time here. It's a fertile ground for imaginary play, and they readily made new friends. Begged to return the next day. As a parent, loved sipping my Stumptown latte from Cafe Mojo and taking in the panoramic view of the lake while the kids explored happily.

Pros: -Lots of unique options to keep kids busy for hours -Away from traffic -Lakeside Cons: -Limited parking on a busy day -Not toddler friendly -Older play structure

Love this park, my favorite play structure in Oregon. Fun for adults too. Can get busy but plenty to spread out and do

If you're bringing someone disabled it might be difficult for them to get down to the beach. There's a second parking area if you drive just past the main lot with a second entrance to the beach, but it's not much better than the main entrance. If you're going to designate something a city or state park; you should maintain some sort of accessibility for disabled folks to actually enjoy it.

There are a few picnic tables scattered around the parking lot with the best ocean view if you don't want to or can't walk down to the beach - which is usually very windy and on the chilly side. We've always brought a picnic or gotten take out at one of the eateries just up the road (something at the 60's Cafe is a good choice). We tailgate or just eat inside our truck because of the wind. It doesn't matter since coming to see the ocean is the goal. On any given day I could just roll down the window enough to hear the roaring surf and take a nap. Someone mentioned the birds. Yes, lots of them: seagulls & crows especially. Just be careful if you have food (bread & crackers draw them like a magnet), they are pretty bold and don't seem to be afraid of people. The beach is apparently very dog friendly as almost everyone there the day we were had one or two. It was nice to see a free "poop bag" station and people actually using it. Road's End is considered a State Park and is well-maintained by Park Rangers. Best of all? No use fees! Definitely my Happy Place in Lincoln City.

It doesn't get much more coastal than this region…read more We were really fortunate to visit the Oregon Coast in November on a clear Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Nothing but sunshine greeted us. No rain, fog or clouds dampened our road trip. The weather this week where we visited: Coos Bay, Florence, Newport, Yachats, Depoe Bay forecasted rain and wind with even a gale warning in some parts. The Oregon Coast is so beautiful! Thor's Well in Yachats at high tide was amazing to see. At low tide we saw some brave folks walk down towards the edge of that gaping hole. In Florence we descended down 208-ft in an elevator to the Sea Lion Caves... we didn't get a chance to see any sea lions at the time but the cave was cool to see. In Newport was where we saw sea lions bask and roll about at the docks just below Clearwater Restaurant and Port Dock One in Historic Bayfront. FREE! No matter the season, the Oregon Coast is a rejuvenating getaway. We enjoyed visiting the coastal cities, admiring lighthouses, making footprints in the sand, dining on the coast, checking out unique souvenir shops, seeing miles and miles of public coastline that continue to be free and public... captivated by the beauty of the mighty Pacific Ocean. Let's go! Review #3262
