Located as a food truck at the girdwood brewing company. We ordered the pesto crepe with chicken added. Immediately after we paid, I remembered I wanted to sub a buckwheat crepe, and paid the extra $1.50. When our order was up 10 mins later - they forgot the upgraded buckwheat crepe. oh well. They give you a beeper for when the crepe is ready. It was tasty and served in a cone so not super messy.

I caught this crepe truck at Girdwood Brewing. It was just the thing I needed after a rainy hike! It pairs well with any beer! It's served out severe(ly fast). I got a crepe with basil in it, because basil anything and I'm on-board. I added an egg, because eggs make everything better. I realize crepes are made with egg so this is kinda like having a crepe-filled crepe, but I don't really care. One dude was running the cart, and he brought it to me inside the toasty brewery. Would crepe again.

This food truck can be found at breweries and during many summer festivals in Anchorage. I have had crepes from them while grabbing beers at Girdwood brewing, and at festivals at Alyeska resort, They have both sweet & savory menu options. Their crepes are on the more traditional side, but they do have some tasty combos to choose from! I like the classic Nutella with fruit, but I've also had the pizza crepe which is pretty good. Crepes are a nice size, and made to order. Their customer service is always great! Staff is friendly, and the crepes do not take long to be made. Definitely a great treat to go with a brew, or to enjoy on a nice summer day!

The server with the amazing, sharp glasses greeted me at the cheerful Crepes de Paris window with a broad grin. "What would you like? What can I get you?" The menu runs the gamut from savory pesto or Alaskan Salmon options to sweet nutella and anything combinations. We opted for the pesto, Alaskan Salmon, and veggie savory crepes (or galettes if we want to get down to the nitty gritty). The savory crepes aren't served on traditional buckwheat, but rather the sweet version with regular flour, but that doesn't mean they weren't delicious. Far from it, in fact. We went into Girdwood Breweries (another fantastic establishment, by the way) as we waited the requested 5 minutes for our crepes to be cooked to perfection and assembled. They came together like a dream. I will admit that the pesto one was oozing cheese and pesto...but when has that ever been a bad thing, Yelp fam? Never is right. The Alaskan Salmon was an interesting mix of arugula, salmon, and a macaroni salad that I was pleasantly surprised by. The salmon was combined into this rockin' sauce and distributed evenly throughout. We actually bought the veggie one to-go for another member in the family, but even transported down a 35 minute walk, the last eater was also in agreement - these crepes are something special. I imagine it might be a bit difficult to find this food truck, so make sure to stay updated using their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CrepesDeParis/.

I walked in alone on a weeknight for dinner and was told to sit in the bar (I did ask for an actual table since several were open, but was told they were for reservations only...) While initially off-putting, I still got a great view from my bar table and great service from my server in the bar area! She was knowledgeable, made great recommendations and was attentive; not just to me, but alsoto the tables next to me that I could hear. The Cioppino was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The portion size was perfect for me, though the table next to me did say they were still hungry. I also did appreciate the little table bar snacks (mixed nuts, raisins, etc.) - you don't see those much anymore. The hotel itself is a bit dated, it was a bit tough to find and it is certainly expensive, but the food itself was worth it. I will say other surprise was the wine menu - despite boasting a sommelier and wine cellar, I did honestly expect a larger selection. But I was very happy with the wine I selected regardless!

In any restaurant, they would allow you in, seat you at the table and ask you if you would like something to drink while you were waiting. It is a normal practice, there is nothing unusual about my expectation to be seated. However, I was standing in the doorway. I was not allowed to be seated until the rest of my party arrives. The restaurant was empty. There were 3-4 tables occupied. On a Saturday? 11:00-11:30 in the morning? That should have been a sign to leave, I did not, I kept waiting. Another couple came in, they took them to their table Then my sister arrived. The owner looked at us and asked if the "rest of my party" has arrived? I said: "Yes, she is here." Then another couple walked in, the owner looked at them, turned to them and said: "Follow me!" I could not believe my eyes. Have I not waited enough? she asked if we were ready to be taken to the table, we said we were but yet she takes someone else who came after us to their table and so we had to wait more! We left. There is plenty of wonderful places in Anchorage. We went to the Middle Way Cafe and had wonderful breakfast, were seated right away, had great service. Food was great, staff was friendly and prices were excellent! Note to the owner: SO...who lost? And by the way, people remember bad experience for much longer time than they remember good experience. Just keep doing what you are doing and you won't have to worry about seating anyone anywhere. People will simply stop coming. Thankfully there are a lot of places to choose out of.

But I can tell you that what they make is totally unique ans delicious. There is something for almost everyone. I love 2 of their chicken pizzas- Spicy Thai (with peanut sauce) and Amazing Apricot (with Cilantro). They defy definition and are in a space all their own. The place is always SWAMPED with business because all 3 of their locations are wildly popular. My most recent visit with my adult children was not exception. As such, the service always leaves something to be desired. But the wait is worth it.

Orso was one of the few nicer restaurants in Anchorage that was open on a Sunday so we headed there after a very long day out at Seward. We arrived around 7:30pm. It wasn't super busy so we were seated immediately. Our server suggested some drink options based on what we liked (me: gin; my husband: bourbon). They were very good. We got the calamari appetizer - I loved the artichokes and thin lemon slices added in, plus both fried and fresh calamari in the dish. I got the Parmesan crusted halibut and my husband ordered the halibut with diavolo pasta. Both were very good. My dish came with asparagus and mushroom risotto; the risotto was pretty salty but still good. The fish was cooked well and I enjoyed it. Overall we had a very nice dinner at Orso, and I'd recommend if you're looking for a more special dinner. As I mentioned it was later on a Sunday so not busy - so the atmosphere was pretty quiet and the ambiance was cozy.

Even when it was time to leave, the hospitality continued. They boxed up our leftovers for us and took extra care packaging everything because they knew we were traveling. That small detail meant so much and earned them even MORE brownie points with me. The food, the flavor, the service, the hospitality--10/10 across the board. The PERFECT way to end my Alaska birthday adventure. I'll definitely be back whenever Anchorage brings me this way again!
