SERVICE - located in Paia on one of the busier roads…read more- parking available in nearby lots - outdoor seating on covered patio - very friendly service - food takes a little bit of time to make - restrooms available for customers in the back of the patio MENU - Mediterranean Indian fusion dishes - vegan/vegetarian options available - average price FOOD - butternut squash and garbanzo coconut curry wrap (8/10): butternut squash, chickpeas, green beans, and spinach in an Indian spiced coconut curry sauce wrapped in a tortilla and lightly grilled. This tastes like a combination between a curry and a breakfast burrito. The spices make it warming and flavorful while the butternut squash and coconut add creaminess and sweetness. The portion is generous and can be shared between 1-2 people. - vegetable curry bowl (8/10): carrot, cauliflower, and peas in a Tamil curry with a side of rice. This is a hearty and comforting meal. The flavors are similar to the butternut squash curry but this one is slightly less sweet. I personally liked the butternut squash one better but both are very tasty. - vegan crepe (8/10): buckwheat crepe filled with a lentil and tomato stew with sides of salad and hummus. This was a unique take on a crepe as I have not seen other places fill theirs with a stew. While it was a little hard to split, it was a generous portion for one person. The salad adds a pop of freshness and the hummus allows for a creamy relief from the spices. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! This is one of our favorite go to spots on the island.

Daughter ordered the Mediterranean crepe which came with vegetables, feta cheese and pesto ($20.50). Unfortunately, it was so salty she couldn't finish it. I got the kalua pork with goat cheese crepe ($20.50) which was delicious. The combination of the habanero salsa offset the creaminess of the goat cheese. Our server, a young man, provided standoffish service and seemed only happy once he presented us the bill with the button to choose a tip option. Otherwise, he wasn't very available. Not sure if I'd go back given other options in the area.

I enjoyed both of the dessert options we tried. They were the perfect end to the meal. What really touched me was the staff's attention to detail. They remembered it was our babymoon and took the time to congratulate us, which made the evening feel even more personal and special! We had a stunning view of the water, and watching the sunset from our table was gorgeous! It is easily one of the best spots on the island for a romantic evening! We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we returned the next morningfor breakfast. The omelette was prepared perfectly. It was served with a tropical frit mix that I enjoyed a lot! I had the best papaya I have ever tried! From start to finish, the service was top notch! The entire time made sure we were well taken care of!

There is free guest parking, so that was nice. We ate outside, so the ambiance and lighting was nice and romantic. Service was attentive. For our anniversary, they gave us a complimentary bite that included caviar, and they decorated our dessert with the words "Happy Anniversary," so these were nice touches that made us feel special. The meal was a $150 per person for a 3 course dinner. For my starter, I got the hamachi crudo, which was perfection! The fish pieces were so large, fresh, and soft, and the mango relish inside added a great flavor. The star fruit on top made the dish so pretty, and it was so tasty! I tried my fiancé's scallop, which was cooked perfectly. Bread was included in the meal, and it was warm and soft and came with this lavender butter, which was tasty, although the salt was too concentrated in the butter in some sections For the entrees, I got the poached lobster, and my fiancé got the grilled kanpachi. The lobster was tender, and it also came with mussels, shrimp, and veggies. The dish was flavorful, but small. I tried my fiancé's kanpachi, which was solid but was too salty and not as tender as I prefer. For dessert, I tried the poni cheesecake. This dessert was just average in my opinion because the cheesecake lacked flavor (didn't taste like cheesecake or ube). The crust also had a coconut taste, which I didn't prefer. The texture of the cheesecake was light and satisfying. Overall, would give this place 4/5 stars, but increased to 4.5 due to the special touches for our anniversary.

Nick's Fishmarket Maui is a very long time favorite and I still mourn the loss of Nick's Fishmarket…read moreOahu and the original Nick's Fishmarket Chicago. I don't know what I'll do if I lose Nick's Maui. But I dither, Nick's Fishmarket Maui is in an incredible location inside the Fairmont Kea Lani and it's setting alone would be enough to pull me back even if the food was just okay. Thankfully the food is MUCH better than "just okay", it is generally outstanding. I rotate starters and salads because there are so many great choices. The Caesar Salad is about as good as they get, but I really, really like the Maui Greek Salad. With at least four people we start with the Seafood Tower, but find it just too big for two of us. Other than that the Kalua Pig Pot Stickers, Charred Octopus, Crab Cakes and Blackened Ahi are the starters I rotate through. For my Main, I am less eclectic. I have a hard time getting away from the Diver Scallops and Scampi. I have tried other dishes, the Abalone, Kona Lobster and Ribeye (I know, I know, who orders steak in a seafood restaurant), but I keep coming back to. For Dessert, I am also in a rut, but I love desserts they set on fire and in this case it is Bananas Foster. I do sneak bites off my DW's Creme Brulee, as does off my BF. The service is terrific, attentive without being intrusive. I used to joke about the Chicago store that if you knocked a spoon off the table someone would catch it before it hit the floor. The Maui service isn't quite that attentive and I am not sure I would want it to be.

We also ordered the B&B ahi which was also delicious and fresh and ever so slightly seared. Both are worth the trip and the money. From there we started to feel like second class citizens. Hubs ordered the lamb while I had mahi mahi tacos (I didn't have a huge appetite). I would not order the tacos again. Table next to us raved about them and although the tortilla and the fish were fresh, the 'blackened' seasoning did me in. Overkill on a nicely cooked piece of fish - hard pass. Lamb, although cooked properly, (and I thought interestingly presented but) hubs is a meat guy and felt all the additions - sauce, relish, goat cheese - was overkill. Have to also say he didn't enjoy the waiter taking his knife to hand prepare a bite the way he thought it should be eaten. We barely saw him after that which further soured the experience. He vanished after the big ticket part of the meal (the 82$ lamb) and mentioned a comped panna cotta for our anniversary after we'd ordered a paid desert. Oops we owe you that next time (but you'll take our money today) Our food runner was great! Super upbeat, always with a smile. Bar area was relatively quiet until it wasn't. We wouldn't spend $350 this way again but would sit at the bar for sashimi and bounce.

However, as a vegetarian, I felt like we really just had one option for our entrée. We ended up getting full off starters and sides. The only main we could really do was the mushroom pot pie. It was good and comforting, just not anything super memorable. Lastly, I don't mind spending on a nice meal, but a few things felt a little pricey for what they were. For example, the tomato and blue cheese salad with capers was $25, which felt a little steep for essentially five slices of tomato. That being said, everything tasted very fresh and the quality of ingredients was definitely there. Overall, still a good experience, especially because of the service.

Parking is very easy as it is located in a plaza and the service is very attentive. My water cup was never empty. I didn't get to try the anchovies but those that tried it said it was quite tasty Meatballs: their signature dish. It was pretty good, but wish there was a bit of a tang to it Bolognese: loved how they cooked the pasta and the meat sauce was tasty, the ground beef they used was quite lean so wasn't super oily Apparata with spicy sausage: good flavor, would order again. I loved the spicy sausage as well. It had a bit of a kick Parmesan chicken: chicken wasn't dry and the pasta was cooked perfectly Short rib: I don't love short rib but my friends said it was savory and not too salty. Also, the waiter asked if we wanted bread but didn't let us know there was a charge for that as well. Minor, but they should mention it. We sat in the bar area on a high top and it was fine. Probably quieter than the rest of the restaurant honestly.

The place is beautiful and modern, albeit loud inside. Also, I'd say it's not the most Hawaiian vibes, if you're going for that specific vibe. The food was really good. It was expensive, but to be expected. I went with the double fish entree and it escapes me what two fish, but it truly was delicious and maybe the best meal on my limited trip to Maui. The ube bread was dough and delicious smothered in their compounded butter. The cocktail was good. It was busy at the bar but not to bad for the main dinning. I checked in and we were seated right away. The girl asked us to follow her to our seats seemed to be looking at the open tables and decided to put us in the middle of the room at a 4 person table. I saw that the entire section with booths was empty. I asked her if we could get a booth and she said "well those are for booked people." uhm I booked a reservation. She waited a second and walked back to the reception desk. Soon she came back and sat us at a booth which was a table for 2. So weird. Our server was really nice and laid back. He knelt down and told us the specials. SO as far as service it was very good. My wife wasn't very hungry so she was looking for a small dish. She got the Caesar salad and it was good. She also got the Parmesan Risotto. It was actually a side dish. When it came out it was tomato based and didn't have any parmesan on it. I asked the server and he said it was infused with lobster sauce. which wasn't want she wanted. He asked to take it away but my wife said no and didn't want to bother with it. I really think it was the risotto that was connected to a special dish and not the side. I started out with the steamed clams. They were good flavor and I liked the sauce with it but some of the clams didn't open which is bad. they were a nice size to. Next was the pork chop wrapped in bacon. It was cooked and tasted ok. I just expected more from this place. The server came back and was apologizing about my wife's risotto and offered to take care of the dessert . So we got the chocolate lava cake. It was really chocolaty. This place was just ok.
