It set an impossibly high standard for every single one I've tried since! The flaky, buttery, caramelized layers were pure perfection. We didn't get a chance to try their savory menu offerings, but I can absolutely speak for the pastries - the others we tried were very good too, but that Kouign-Amann completely topped it off. I was lucky enough to snag a last-minute reservation for two at the bar, and while we were there, I noticed our favorite Maui musician, Akoni, was playing that Friday and Saturday. Of course, I had to try to get back! I managed to grab another last-minute reservation, and we were seated right by Akoni. It was the perfect night -- amazing food, wonderful service, great music, and such a fun atmosphere. I am now left scrambling to find another nice restaurant while on my honeymoon when I should be focused on being with my partner. This was disappointing and, frankly, unprofessional and disrespectful by the restaurant. I would strongly caution anyone considering this restaurant for a special occasion to look elsewhere, as even a reservation made well in advance may apparently be cancelled at the last minute.

When they arrived, the oyster meat was extremely thin, watery, and lacked any plumpness or rich flavor. They seemed to be post-spawn or poorly harvested. While they did not smell bad, they were not enjoyable to eat at all for the price. The price tag is more for the presentation rather than the quality.
