I had a few different items here. The chocolate cookies are pretty good. I had a few apple turners from the 1 day old section, and they were moldy the next day. Eew. Also, the place is quite dirty. Dirty windows, doors to their restrooms, and a sink that compares to a gas station restroom. Yuck. Not much else to say. read more

The owner has been running the gift-shop business for 14 years. When you first walk in, there this pleasant aroma (probably from the blend of soaps and things she has). I liked how she didn't bother us too much, to let us look around or be pushy. A very kind and lovely lady. I love all the cute assortments, I would definitely some back for little unique gifts for any occasion. (books, aprons, frilly things, stuff for kid, a lot of bunny stuff, tea things etc..) She asked if anything was a gift that I purchases, so she could wrap it up nice (that's a plus) which I didn't need or bother for. Its a really cute shop: What I purchased: -a cupcake tea stirrer -mug -tea cup/saucer -cupcake dishtowel and I was definitely eyeballing this cute cake knife with an a quote engraving. And for a gift-shop, I think the prices are relatively low? There was this really cute wooden figurine for 24 bucks. But all the things I got all together was on the lower side of 30 something. read more

This place is adorable. After Bower Bird went out of business, I went searching for a place to find shabby chic or French inspired housewares. I was not disappointed when I walked into Creme De La Creme. The woman, I believe to be the owner was very friendly and talked to me about the imported soaps. I like this place because it has fun little gifts like frilly aprons. It doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic because the location is in a small alley, but this place really is a gem. I just wish it was as affordable as Bower Bird. This stores prices are more on par with some San Francisco boutiques. read more

This is a beautiful little boutique where you can find unique gifts in all price ranges. My 11 year old daughter loves going in to see the latest cupcake themed items, cookbooks, and decor. I love this little place! It's hidden away behind the mustard seed. I would never have found this place on my own, my friend showed it to me. The owner is very nice and loves to chat when you come in. When I'm out with my friends or if my family comes up I always bring them to this store. The store is filled with cute little nick nacks, ceramic bake ware, sweet dishes, pajamas, jewlrey, and small homewares. Yesterday was my first time in the shop and I immediately was talking it up with Christie and other shoppers, it was like I had known them for years. I always enjoy visiting this store in Davis for it's unique vintage décor items. Last December I picked up a couple of adorable ornaments for my tree, and over the years I have found great gifts for friends and family there as well, in addition to great finds to add to my home décor. The owner Christie is always so pleasant and helpful. I will make a special trip to Davis just to go to this store! I always make it appoint to visit every holiday season but since she has such a great selection of other items I still like to visit at various parts of the year for her other seasonal items as well. read more

Lovely inventory but the owner must not be too interested in growing her business or clientele. I have gone by several times to shop but they are closed two days a week and they close early by working mom's standards. I have have moved my business to Beyond the Garden Gate as their inventory is also lovely and there hours are more flexible. read more

I love this store. I go there for gifts for my very picky, very foo foo mom. They always have something interesting and different. It is such a gem for Davis and such a treat to have a something besides your run of the mill Target, Walmart and mall-type stuff. I love it! And you get your items wrapped for free, by the owner. Christie is great! Always so helpful and her shop is full of all kinds of treasures. She always recognizes her customers and calls them by name. Furthermore, I had purchased a great gift for my mom for Mother's day (per the recommendation of Christie). When I came in yesterday on my Christmas shopping rounds, Christie remembered who I was, asked if my mother enjoyed her gifts (which she did) and recommended some great Christmas ornaments as gifts. I've been a customer here for several years, stopping by whenever I'm in the area. Cute décor, but overpriced. Items are stacked on top of other things and when something falls over, you get the glare from the owner. She is OCD and God forbid you look at a towel and refold it wrong, she comes over to fix it and makes you feel guilty for making a mess! As if this isn't all bad enough, today she insinuated that I had shoplifted! I was looking at a few ornaments, put them back, and moved on. She came over and said, "Where are those ornaments you had?" At first, I wasn't sure what she was talking about. She began to look me up and down and all around me. She then asked if I had put them back, to which I replied, "Yes". She promptly went over and checked to see if they were in the original place. I was mortified! I should have given her an earful and left, but I was in a state of shock. I will NOT be back. There are plenty of other shops around that carry cute items at better prices and don't treat their customers like thieves! read more
