This croissant was days old and disintegrated as soon as it was cut. I typically ONLY get coffee from here because they don't seem too sanitary for food service. I watch this sandwich being made and was weary that all items were cut on a cutting board with no paper underneath. When I inquired about cross contamination they responded they don't cut meat on it. I salvaged the sandwich by removing the ingredients and putting on a toasted naan bread I had at home. I should've stuck to my intuition and use this as a "coffee only" spot. read more

The artwork, the space and the layout is definitely picture worthy. The drinks and the desserts are so delicious . Came here with my family and this was such a cute and tidy cafe. This cafe had a very homey feel to it and the workers were so welcoming. We had the BLT toast, curried chicken toast, empanadas (argentine beef, chicken chipotle and ham&cheese), drinks and ice cream. I visited Crema specifically to complete an important project and needed dependable Wi-Fi to do so. Unfortunately, the internet was not working during my visit, which made it impossible to get anything done. I asked a staff member for assistance, but the response felt dismissive and unhelpful. After spending over 30 minutes trying to troubleshoot and waiting for support, I was finally told that the Wi-Fi does not work with Mac computers. That would have been extremely helpful to know upfront instead of after losing valuable time. If you're planning to work remotely or rely on internet access, especially on a Mac, I would strongly suggest reconsidering this location in Jersey City. I would never come here again. I was here earlier today. It took them 20 mins to make my regular latte . There were two people who came FIVE mins after me who ordered juices/teas and they received their orders. I think the gentleman forgot what I ordered. They didn't have simple syrup. So without notifying me, they made my coffee with honey which made the coffee "thick" it was horrendous. I ordered Belgian waffles and he automatically assumed I didn't want fruit or powder on them and so when he brought it over plain, I didn't bother even complaining because the wait I already endured for my coffee. I still paid the full amount without knowing my dish would be delivered incomplete. My one waffle with large latte with thick ass honey cost me over $18. I took everything to go since it was loud as fuck in there: for a coffee shop, it had the volume of a dive bar. Do not choose this place to study. I visited on a relaxing afternoon and was able to enjoy the outdoor seating with a front row seat to typical urban activities (fire trucks coming and going from the station across the street, kids walking home from school, etc). Inside there were a few people working on their laptops so I assume the wifi is decent enough to get some work done. On to the food, I kept it pretty basic for my first visit and had a drip coffee and the Chicken Chipotle Empanada, the filling of which was filled with tender/juicy pieces of shredded chicken. We were so happy to stumble upon this little corner cafe on our way to journal square. It has such a cozy, unique vibe, and the staff is more than just welcoming. They were so sweet and helpful, and gave wonderful recommendations for my little sisters. We ended up getting the prosciutto, tomato and mozzarella croissant, an almond croissant, and a Nutella one and they were divine! The coffee is very good quality, and even their iced mocha was delicious! They have a bice working area, and I saw some people typing away on their keyboards. They even have a print station if that's something you need. I think this would be a great place to come and study and get work done as a student. Believe it or not the whole summer went by and I haven't had a chance to try their ice cream yet (but I will soon)! I've been here for weekend brunch several times and have tried a few different food items- eggs Benedict toast, avocado toast, braised brisket toast, and prosciutto toast. I recently ordered an açaí fruit bowl to go and that was great as well (though the portion was a little small). The space has a decent amount of seating inside and outside when the weather permits. They're even dog friendly (if you choose to sit outside) which is nice. There's also a small play area for kids inside. Really awesome mom and pop shop! There serve grass fed ice creams, toast dishes, pastries, and various coffees. I like the variety of ice cream, but have also enjoyed a couple of their toasts. My favorite so far is the salmon toast; however I am yet to try them all. The coffee is not too bad and is better than DD. I am bit more ecritical as I am a bit of a coffee snob. There is a small seating area inside and you are welcome to eat or drink outside with your dog. They are dog friendly, but you cannot bring them inside for obvious reasons. They are right in the corner of Duncan & Bergen Ave. Parking is a bit tricky but you may get lucky or may be able to double park for quick pick-up! Very cute place. I want it to succeed since it is the only cute, cozy coffee shop/ cafe around McGinley Sq. But mon dieu, the croissant and other low quality pastries/ cake items are horrible. The croissants are basically bread in the shape of a croissant. They initially started out promising but it has decline over the years. They need to get good basic croissant. We did a quick stop by for a couple scoops on a hot day. A great addition to a not so great, at the moment, Jersey City neighborhood. This alone is an extra star in my book. Adding to Honey Bakery, Caravao and Lee's. Service and choices are generic. The layout is welcoming for families. Ice cream was just ok. We will need a couple more visits. This place was really charming. It was cozy and bright. There are lots of places for kids to play as well. We need more places like this in the area! I ordered a cappuccino with just the right amount of foam and the Nutella toast. The cappuccino was delicious and the toast was huge! This is my favorite place to go for coffee in the morning. I swing by before work and it's fresh, so much better than Dunkin. I came by the other day and picked up a few 1/2 pints of the ice cream for a birthday party at work too. Excellent ice cream and the owner hooked me up with cups, cones, sprinkles, EVERYTHING.
