What a pleasant experience here. I was staying with a cousin and she told me to stop by to support small businesses, and I'm glad we did. We just wanted to sit and people watch for a few mins, order a hot latte and yap. Very cute cafe! The owner was very welcoming and kind. He wanted to make sure we were satisfied. I wish him nothing but the best! :)
I came here earlier today and really enjoyed my experience. The coffee was yummy, I got the cookie butter iced latte. It was good coffee but I didn't really taste the cookie butter. My friend got the banana bread latte and it definitely had more flavor. We also got some pastries. The quiche was good, as was the everything croissant. It had an unexpectedly sweet cream cheese filling. Overall, the atmosphere is very homey and well decorated. I would definitely come here to get some work done and grab a quick bite.
I love this little spot away from the avenues and tucked into a quiet block. The selection of drinks are plentiful and they have a nice selection of muffins and scones ect. I love the way it's decorated and it's a nice quiet spot to come on a weekday morning to sit and get some work done or enjoy peacefulness. Everything is freshly made and the seating areas are so artsy and clean and inspiring. Definitely want to come back and try more muffins. I had the kale and cheese croissant heated up. Really good and flakey!
I stopped by here after my morning gym session and ordered an iced coffee. I was planning on eating breakfast at home but this danish looked really tempting to pass up on it. So I ordered the Cheese & Guava Danish and it was delicious. I enjoyed every single bite of it. Cute coffee shop to grab a pastry and your morning brew and sit here reading your book in peace and tranquility. The girl at the counter seems friendly; she looked happy to be at work with a smile on her face. 10/10 coffee shop recommendation.
(Dined 07/12/2023 WE @ 3:15pm): They may serve frothy things at this place on Franklin, but I opted for something dirty and some pastries! A local realtor suggested Froth On Franklin as a convenient place for our initial in-person meeting. This place was barely a ten-minute walk from my friend's place which was great and allowed me to further familiarize myself with the neighborhood. Generally speaking, I wasn't much of a coffee person, but I was usually open to eatery exploration. Would I find options other than frothiness!? PURCHASE Iced Dirty Chai w/Lowfat Milk 24floz Cup ($5.95): Since I didn't drink coffee (unless I was taste-testing it), my other option was tea and frankly the name caught my attention. With a light aroma of various baking spices and a more overt matching flavor, this was an enjoyable refreshing drink during this humid day. It was void of any smaller crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. 5th, based on its temperature it was room temperature with zero hints of oil pockets but had gooey apple bits and juices that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat. A girl can never review too many coffee shops. I've been to FROTH a bunch (like 2-3 punch cards worth of times) and I plan to make it a usually stop for a caffeine fix. The good (it's all good): -The coffee is great. I've gotten everything from a hot cup of black coffee to an oat iced latte. Always great. -Everyone that works there is super friendly, helpful if I am trying to decide what to order, and quick so there is never a long wait, even with a line. -Cozy spot to sit and chat, plop with your laptop for a bit or grab & go. Big FROTH fan.
Located in the heights on Franklin St, this place has a cute ambiance and gives relaxing vibes to have a coffee especially during weekends! I decided to go for black velvet which is a dark roast and asked for a shot of whole milk to be added which turned out to be Cafe au Lait. The dark roast felt smooth enough and was refreshing enough to wake me up on a gloomy day from the little sleep I had in my eyes! I also decided to try out their 'everything croissant' with cream cheese, it's just the bagel version of croissant and it tasted good. The pastry though seems to be bought from somewhere but was fresh enough to start the morning! The service was quick and the baristas were friendly, overall a good local place to have a coffee. Would definitely love to try out their other selections as well in the future!
Made my way to Froth twice the past couple weeks while exploring The Heights area. The decorations are so cute! The seating is abundant and has a cosy corner with couches. I've tried the peppermint mocha latte and their honey butter latte. Loved them both! They seem to do the seasonal drinks really well. I also sampled some different croissants and macaroons. They were pretty tasty but their drinks are the star. Both baristas I met were kind and friendly!
The barista/owner makes this coffee bar especially lovely. Excellent variety of scones, muffins, quiches, cookies, breads and coffees/teas make it a new favorite when we visit Jersey City. Love the vibe.
Second time here and I enjoy the coffee once again. It's a very authentic coffee shop with lots of nice decor with positive messages and cozy vibes, The coffee is also on point with that good good espresso machine lol They also offer good tea from TeaPigs and a variety of pastries. Only area of opportunity would be having sugar free options for coffee syrups.

I lived around the corner from FROTH for a few years but recently moved out of the area and I miss them dearly. Al and his family and staff are such an asset to our Heights neighborhood. I think I've tried almost every one of their pastries at this point and all have been wonderful. Their chocolate croissant is my go-to, so highly recommend that. Pre-pandemic, I used to spend a few hours a week working remotely here because the atmosphere was quiet, welcoming and outlets were a plenty.
If you're looking for the cutest, most charming local coffee shop in the neighborhood, this is it! The coffee is incredible (they serve Kobrick Coffee), and the matcha is just as good. Their seasonal latte flavors are a huge highlight, (especially the banana pudding latte, which is an absolute MUST-ORDER!) The pastry selection is just as impressive, with apple cider donuts, chocolate croissants, and blueberry cream cheese pastries that pair perfectly with your coffee. Whether you're stopping in for your morning latte, grabbing a matcha, or treating yourself to something sweet, this cozy neighborhood gem is worth a visit. A must-visit for coffee lovers! Decent coffee place, I had the salted Carmel cold brew and enjoyed it along with their baked item that's similar to a scone (I forgot the name of it) but it had a thin layer cream cheese inside. It reminded me of a cross between a biscuit and scone. I'll be back again. Service was quick and to the point. Ambience was laid back, lots of seating inside to relax and enjoy your coffee and baked goods they offer. Parking is street only. read more
Ordered: Iced Pistachio Rose Latte w Cold Foam (~$7) Aya's take: Unfortunately this was not a good latte. I got the Iced Pistachio Rose Latte but it wasn't balanced whatsoever. It was too sweet due to the pistachio and I'm certain there was no rose whatsoever. I frequently have rose syrup in my lattes but I could not taste it at all. I even asked the worker who made it and she confirmed there was. It just tasted overly chemically for my taste. Their cold foam came out of a can (which is fine) but it was loose and airy as opposed to thick and creamy. All in all, it was too sweet, the espresso was not strong, and it was more watery than milky. read more

A pretty cozy cafe I must say. Plenty seating space and definitely a nice interior. One can easily come here and work all day. Could be a bit noisy so I would get a pair of noise canceling headphones. But the high bar table and chair setup is perfect if you wanna work on your laptop and a few couches if you wanna enjoy your book while sipping their amazing coffee. read more

Staff was really friendly. Nice sized coffee shop with a great vibe. The music was perfect, smooth and not too loud. I had the latte with oat milk which was tasty, I like a stronger espresso normally but still very good. The coffee crumb cupcake was delicious. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to hang out and do some work while enjoying some coffee. read more

This is a great spot to either grab a high quality cup of coffee "to go", sit-sip-chat with friends, or bring a laptop and do some work. Our visit was on a Sunday morning and while not crowded, a constant stream of customers came and went while we sat at the rustic high top wooden table in the center of the cafe. The decor has a hip vintage feel with old photos from the neighborhood and is tastefully decorated with a mix of tables, chairs, counters and stools, with some loungier seating areas too. Coffee - we tried a variety, including one of the brewed (medium roast) coffees, a cappuccino, and a cafe mocha. All were delicious and well-made by the barista who was meticulously working behind the counter. The kids chose a strawberry smoothie which was a good consistency (not too thick or thin), made with fresh fruit and milk, and was not overly sugary. Food options - I opted for the savory Chili Cheddar twist. It is like a croissant made into the shape of a pretzel. It was buttery and flakey; cut by the sharpness of the cheddar with a final hint of spicy goodness from the red pepper flakes. My kids and husband went for sweet - double chocolate, cranberry, and coffeecake muffins which were also moist and full of flavor. I was hoping one of them would have tried the cream cheese zucchini muffin, it was calling my name...I will have to go back for that one! The chili cheddar pretzel twist was so good I made my daughter go and order her own since she ate like half of mine! I in turn ate the rest of her muffin which was a nice way to polish off the rest of my coffee. read more

First time going there today, so happy I did. Very nice people, the coffee was good and the sweets looked delicious. The place itself looked cozy, a nice spot to take your laptop and get some work done. read more

In a place saturated with trendy coffee shops and hipster hangouts, this place really stands out among the crowd. As a new place in an up and coming neighborhood, it's great to see a good business run by a local heights resident. But regardless of that, their product is excellent. An extreme variety of options and flavors, as well as seasonal ones, each and every one is a treat. The place itself is also extremely relaxing, having a large seating area good for one person, or for your entire squad. The owner is often there too, ensuring excellent service and local bonding. The Phamily will be back to study soon :)) read more
