I'd definitely skip this place... very overpriced and food was not enjoyable. Limited menu options, inside is very outdated and staff was undertrained. We ordered drinks and sent them back because they were under filled and tasted weak. They then refused to make new drinks after we sent them back. I would have rather drove the extra time to go to a restaurant in a different town. read more

Well....there really isn't much else to choose from in this are so.... 1. Service was abysmal at best (our server dropped off our food and then never reappeared) 2. Food was cold by the time she got around to bringing it 3. Forgot to bring silverware, sugar I asked for etc 4. Food was okay....perhaps if it had been brought to us when it was cooked it would've been warm 5. No one brought us a bill.....waited and waited and waited. Finally gave up and went in search of way to pay read more

Lunch menu is tiny. Fish and chips was $24 and burnt. Service was very indifferent. Was disappointed.

*** 3.8 stars *** We stopped by here for a quick lunch before we headed to the Kalaloch Beach. I ordered a small mixed green salad with house-smoked salmon, and my friend asked for an elk burger. As said in the other reviews, it took them a really long time (20+ minutes) to serve us the food. We were really tired and needed a rest anyway so we didn't complain. My salad base was interesting (in a positive way) - a mixture of ingredients with various flavors and textures that went well with each other. The house-smoked Salmon was served in chunks instead of a steak as I expected. It tasted good but was a bit too heavy/salty for me. My friend's burger looked gigantic and came with a fruit cup. It seemed like he enjoyed it a lot. The salad wasn't filling enough for me so I added a broccoli side at the end. It was served faster than before and tasted good too. Our waiter was very nice so that earned this place some extra points. read more

The best linguine and clams I have ever had! One whole pound of clams in a buttery, garlic wine sauce. No sand in the clams. This is a cute restaurant with a chef who knows seafood! The fish and chips were plentiful and tasty. Not to mention good clam chowder. Worth the stop. Oh, I forgot to mention the amazing views. read more

The food needs serious improvements. Let's start there. While at the restaurant two other tables sent back their food for being under done or not very good. For the prices listed I would expect better. Even as we were leaving another couple complained on the lack of flavor. The clam chowder was literally cream with potato's and had some odd sweet flavor other than clams. The lobster mac and cheese had no flavor and seemed like the lobster was old. The fish and chips were all breading lacking flavor. The burger was done medium as requested but had no flavor at all. The only thing that was working is the French fries. They actually had a truffle flavor. It's something to start with I guess they could build on that. The service was good which is why I even gave it a 2 but they food with lack of flavor was a "Don't waste your time or money if you can make it down the road to anywhere else." I'd recommend skipping this one. read more

We took a day trip to Ruby Beach and stopped here on the way home for Sunday dinner. This is at the Kalaloch Lodge within the Olympic National Forest. The view from the restaurant of the beach and Kalaloch Creek are the best on the coast, in my opinion! The menu leans to seafood, with a couple veggie items as well. They have a small but complete wine list that also has a pretty good selection of Washington state wines (Thank you!). The service was super - friendly and well served. The food items tasted great and were well prepared. One thing I wonder about are the prices, given the location. I think for the quality of food and service, the menu is priced competitively to city seafood restaurants and offers good value. However the Olympic highway loop and beaches quite often is heavily traveled by families in summer, I feel the dinner menu may be over priced for them. read more

While the burger was a good size it lacked flavor, especially since neither of our pub burgers included the so called "pub sauce." In addition, the edges of the buns were burnt which gave it a bitter taste. Disappointing for a $20+ burger. On the upside, the hostess and bar attendant were very friendly. read more

Nice little lodge with the restaurant inside. We had to order ahead and then pick up after they are ready. It was a little cold due to the beach front. COVID-19 policies in place so there are no eating inside the restaurant. We had to do a mini tailgate so we can stay warm and East before heading out. Food was good although a little salty but it did satisfy hunger. read more

We spent a night here as part of our itinerary hopping around the Olympic NP. The location is awesome. I knew prior to arrival to set appropriate expectation. When it is historic, it means the place went through a lot and may not be at its prime! There isn't a lot of dining option in the area unless you packed in. We went in a few minutes before dinner hours so we can get an inside table next to the window. The food is decent considered where we were. read more

The place was very nice a great view, but ......the service was the worst service I've ever had . She literally laid the plates down in front of us, walked away, and never came back once. Never asked if we needed anything else. When she set the plates down she gave us the wrong orders didn't receive the side salad, french fries or the vegetables for the linguine. How could you mess up all three orders . But we're not complainers so we went on ahead and ate it. The kicker was when she came over and asked us if we would like separate checks and we said yes and she brought everything on one check.Crab Mac. read more

Nice place to stop off 101, which is fortunate since there aren't really any other options for +/- 20 miles or so!! Like most other restaurants in this area they're a bit short-staffed; staff was friendly & competent however service was a bit slow (took 30ish minutes to get sandwiches and fish & chips). Our particular server went above and beyond - I was a bit confused about a few anomalies on our bill and despite my questions being explained more than adequately, the final charges returned with my credit card were reduced 10% to compensate for any misunderstanding. Bottom line: thank you for the quality of food & service, and thank you for the adjustment which more than makes up for the speed of service & any confusion. read more

Not one to leave bad reviews but I'd feel bad if someone made the same mistake as us. Their website states they pride themselves in local sourcing so we thought we'd be in for a good meal. I think the picture of the salad speaks for itself. This was an almost twenty dollar salad that had no taste and I could not believe my eyes when I looked at what they served as shrimp, after I could find them hidden in the salad. I've worked in restaurants for the last ten years and if the foods not good, I won't recommend it. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would not serve this shrimp or this salad. I'd take a step back and re evaluate the products being used. If this is indeed fresh local product, I'd look to someone else to source for my restaurant. read more

Like many others that left a Yelp review, we were passing through after a day at Ruby Beach. Driving by this place, it's hard not to stop. Its really the only promising looking place for miles. It's rustic exterior, perched on the edge of the beach, over looking the great Pacific Ocean, certainly leaves quite an impression. However, we've heard it all before, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Between the four of us, we ordered two fish and chips and two elk burgers with fries. Everyone got waters. After what seemed like an eternity, our food finally arrived. What we experienced was pretty average. Not that anything stood out as being bad, just nothing stood out. The view from your table isn't enough to make up for the average food, slow average service, and high prices. When you're basically the only show in town, I guess you can do what you want. I'm gonna pass this one up, if I'm ever back in the neighborhood. read more

The only thing going for this place is the location and lack of any other restaurants. Simple lunch menu with very limited options. We were the second people in for lunch and after 45 minutes we tried to find out the status of our order Our server Ruby ignored us most of our time there. As most of the people who came in after us were served and leaving I gave her 5 minutes to produce our food or we were leaving. Miraculously it arrived a few minutes later. Unfortunately granddaughters burger was seriously burnt and the fish and chips were also overcooked The clam chowder was possibly the worst we have ever had. Food was alright, nothing to write home about. Service was extremely slow and not very good all around.

Was there for our aniversary. Wanted to have a special evening and meal. It was an absolute bust. Walked into the place and it was dark and cold, wasn't sure it was open. We were one of two dinners there. Of course they seated us right next to the other dinners. Not good. We ordered a large salad, and the entrees were The Oscar and my wife got the Polenta with Roasted Veggies. Receved the salad and it consisted of a bowl full of salad stems with no dark green lettuce leaves. It also had candied walnuts that were so hard that I'm surprised I didn't crack a tooth eating them. The salad dressing was very watery and had zero flavor. The entrees arrived at the table and were not even luke warm. The plates that the entrees were on were ice cold. I could smell a strong fishy smell from my dish as the wattress brought it to our table. My dish had Salmon and Crab was definitely not fresh. I took a small taste and it was absolutely dreadful tasting and ice cold. My wifes dish consisted of lumpy, gross looking polenta with roasted veggies on top. It looked dreadful. The polenta looked like it had cottage cheese in it. The roasted veggies that were on top of the polenta looked old and very unappetizing. My wife would not even taste it. In the meantime more dinners had arrived and they placed eveyone into this very small area on top of one another. It got loud and uncomfortable. We called our waitress over and showed her our cold unapealing food and stated that it is unedible and that we will be leaving. We paid for our salad and left hungary and discouraged. I would never recommend this place. You would think that the prices they were charging the food would at least be edible. It was absolutely not! Do not waste your time or money here. Management needs to address these serious problems. One star is too much. Definely not recommended. read more

Might be nice for drinks if you're in the road, but lost stars for quality of food and price. $90 for 4 items: chowder was good, but over half the mac and cheese was thrown out. Elk burger was good, but not $20 good/amazing. If you're camping, just buy snacks/bring your own food. If you're going to enjoy the restaurant and friendly service (which is why I'm giving 3 stars, honestly) then just get drinks. read more

Located on the same site as kalaloch lodge. It's very convenient to have a restaurant out here since there isn't another for at least 50 minutes or so. It's pretty pricy and options are somewhat limited but the place is good. I've had the fish and chips, elk burger so far. We had the crab Mac and cheese and that was a bit of a disappointment since there was maybe 2 oz of crabs. Great view, staff and ambience though and it's a solid 4 stars. If quality for the price was better it would be a 5 but I also understand they are in the middle of nowhere. read more

Serving moldy food - one star. If you insist on going, don't order the fruit salad as a side dish. The experience that we got from this restaurant missed the mark in a lot of ways. Let me start by saying that most of the food itself isn't so bad; the clam chowder and salmon burger in particular tasted quite good, actually. However, when it came to service, the staff came off as dismissive - it felt like just by ordering food, we were being a nuisance, and as a customer, that never feels good. What really makes for the one-star review is the fruit salad we ordered as a side dish. When we got it, the fruit was clearly old and mold was growing all over it (you can see for yourself in the photo - and yes, those white spots are all mold). The fact that any establishment would serve moldy food without giving it a second glance really shows a lack of oversight. When we took the food up to the front, the staff didn't even apologize - she simply shrugged it off, making it seem like this was a common occurrence. It was at this point that the dismissiveness of the staff became negligence. We ended up swapping the side of fruit for a side of fries, but they didn't offer any refund on our order. Needless to say, we will not be coming back to the Creekside Restaurant, and unless you like your fruit salad with a side of mold, I would recommend the same for you and your family. read more

Yeah, I know...it's always a challenge for Lodge restaurants to deliver the quality and pricing you would expect. But, after enjoying a meal that was the bomb at Lake Crescent Lodge, we figured that we were in for another good one. Alas, dinner at Creekside was ok...but only ok. Here are few thoughts: - My wife ordered the clam chowder and spinach and blackberries salad. She said the salad tasted like it was doused in vinegar and she didn't like the chowder...apparently it had that certain something that was off putting. My son and I both tried it too and noticed the odd flavor/spice, but we couldn't figure out what it was either. Perhaps leeks? The waiter didn't have any insights either. - My son and I both split the Elk Burger and the Poutine. Both were good, nothing spectacular, but not worthy of the high price. - Service was ok. Bottom line: When staying at the Kalaloch Lodge, pack extra groceries and make yourself a good dinner at your room. read more

Our party of six stayed at the Kalaloch Lodge for one night during our road trip from Portland to Olympic National Park. Creekside is the only restaurant around Kalaloch Beach. The next closest restaurant would be in Forks (a 30 minute drive). We had dinner and breakfast here. The food is not the best, but it's decent for being the only choice at the lodge. Can't beat the view - overlooking the beach and driftwood logs, especially at sunset. We were staying at the Kalaloch Lodge, and although I'd read mixed reviews of the restaurant, we figured we'd give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. We started w/ the fried clam appetizer ($10), which was very fresh and tasty. The entrees were a bit pricey ($26-29 for the seafood), I tried the seafood pasta, and it came w/ generous portions of fish, claims, mussels and shrimp, and my husband had the salmon special which was wonderful. They have a private label wine made for Kalaloch Lodge by Maryhill WInery, and the server brought us a taste of the chardonnay and white blend (he said the chard was most popular), but we actually really liked the blend (chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, semillon and viognier), just $6/glass or $24/bottle. Afterward, the sun was warm on the deck, so we finished our wine out on the patio, enjoying the view and beginning of sunset before a walk on the beach below. A nice end to the day. We came back for breakfast the next morning, and my salmon hash was just ok (sounded much better on the menu), but my husband loved his eggs, hashbrowns and toast. The coffee was great, and they came by regularly for refills. Overall, I'd rate the restaurant a 5 for view/ambiance and probably a 3-4 for food, depending on what you order, so a 4 overall. DO make sure you make reservations in advance just to be safe, and note that it closes for dinner at 9. read more

On point CDC COVID guidelines adherence. The food was good but overpriced. Tourist prices. However their coffee was very disappointing. Lukewarm and tasted terrible. Dinner - 1 Star at best. The medium steak we ordered was the worst steak I've ever had...so tough to chew and I could not tell what "cut" it was whatsoever. Pretty gross actually. And the server who shall remain nameless - kept accidentally putting his thumb into our bowls/plates ...smh Brunch - 4 stars. Good solid foods in terms of taste and presentation. We have visited the Creekside for many years. During our most recent dining experience we took into consideration the Covid challenges. We ordered our usual breakfast. The eggs were delicious. Unfortunately the hash browns were unrecognizable. The bacon and sourdough toast like the hashbrowns appeared to have been prepared many hours prior to being served. Dried out and so hard the food was not edible. Hopefully this post will help get the quality of the food at least to the level it used to be. I'll stay in the campground next time and make better food in a cast iron Dutch oven. *Most restaurants charge about $4 for a mimosa that is 75% sparkling wine that costs about $8 a magnum. I took my family to this restaurant after spending the day at Ruby Beach. We waited to get in and ended up getting a very friendly, more than likely high, and quite incompetent waitress. What started out as an amazing day in a beautiful location ended with a horrendous dining experience that could have been an episode from SNL! Our sever played the disappearing act and would be gone for extended lengths of time, forgetting to bring us water, coffee, and even our utensils. We watched other customers get up and walk out, tired of waiting for their basic needs to be met. I witnessed her walking between a couple tables flooding clam juice off a plate all the while being completely unaware of the disaster she was leaving behind her. When we were cold on the balcony we asked to move inside, and she said there wasn't room for us. On various occasions when we walked to the lobby to get water since she couldn't remember to bring us ours, we noticed a very empty dining room with more than enough tables to move us inside. Finally, she said she could "squeeze" us in and took us to a table that was empty a half hour prior. It took us over an hour just to get our food. She didn't bring anything without us asking. It was ridiculous especially given the price of the menu items. She even left so many food items in the kitchen that we had to ask for, if I listed them all nobody would believe it. The food was just ok not great! Portions were small and overpriced. Not worth the pain of the dining experience and horrible service! The entire experience was a huge turn off, and I will never eat there again. read more
