We ordered takeout to enjoy on the patio since we had a dog with us. There's lots of outdoor seating including covered tables on the patio. You have a beautiful view from the patio as well! The server was nice and was able to take our order before they closed their lunch service. We had the salmon BLT with fries and it was delicious! The bread was a little greasy but otherwise it was a tasty sandwich with flavorful salmon, crunchy bacon, and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The fries were perfectly seasoned. The only complaint I have is that the food took a long time to come out. There was a large party (12+ people) that had sat down/ordered shortly before we ordered our to go food, so I think that's the reason it took a long time. Had brunch here before our forested nuptial and it was terrible. Called to make a reservation for 12 and was told to contact the event coordinator, Jessica Lee. She did not respond to emails or phone calls and apparently could not be bothered to do her job, clearly disinterested in our small event. When we arrived we were told our 10am reservation was moved, so our entire party was forced to wait. We were finally seated in the back with no linens on the table while the tables in front all had them. Of note, only two tables were filled, plenty of room to move us and make our brunch special. Service was slow, we even had to get up and ask for coffee and silverware. The food was overpriced and mediocre; drizzling aioli over a diner style breakest does not make it high end. A "Chef" should know that. It was also the 100th Anniversary of the Quinault Lodge which could have tied in nicely with our 1920s theme. Had Jessica taken any interest and opened a dialog, maybe our event could have been a bit more special. The only person who was at all helpful was the woman in the gift shop who provided hygiene product from her person stash, as there were no supplies to be found. It's a bad restaurant masquerading as a nice one thanks to the location & its rating as the lowest of the local options is fitting. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to The Salmon House down the street instead. The Roosevelt Room is priced on the view and while it's a great view with good ambiance, the food & service are a complete letdown. We weren't given plates for appetizers, the finished appetizer dish was left on our table the whole meal, and we had to practically beg for water refills. Somehow the garlic biscuits with butter were the best food item we had. The Garlic shrimp appetizer were some of the blandest shrimp we've eaten, covered in flavored breadcrumbs. The shrimp themselves seemed hardly seasoned at all. We also tried the pot roast & roosevelt burger. These honestly weren't bad but cost far more than they should for the quality. To start off, they said it was a 3-5 minute wait because they were cleaning the table. Then 10 minutes go by and then it was another 10 minute wait because they said they had no silverware. We got in there and there was a bunch of open tables and every single table wasn't clean and dirty plates and food just lying around. Then it took 15 minutes for them to come ask us what we would like to eat without even asking for any drink orders or appetizers. Food was really bland, and didn't have a ton of options. Everything was expensive as well. We didn't get our waters filled throughout the whole entire time we were there until the end. This restaurant is located inside the Lake Quinault Lodge at Olympic National Park in Washington. It is the main and only dining option at this Lodge. They are open daily for breakfast and dinner. Reservations for dinner strongly recommended and can be made at the Front desk. Lunch is served as take out with small bites and pizza. Rustic decor throughout gives a nostalgic appearance. We stayed in Amanda Park for 3 nights and had dinner every evening at The Roosevelt Room. It was fantastic! The ambience cannot be beat at the lodge, 1930's summer camp vibes in the best way. We had roasted chicken, pot roast, Caesar salad with chicken, and the hamburger...all of the meals were very tasty. Service was always friendly. Dined here when we stayed at Lake Quinault Lodge and it was pretty decent. The best thing about this place is the ambiance, bar none. You are overlooking the lake and there's a old world feel to it. The food itself is decent/just ok. There's too much use of the same garnishes in every single dish and the two dishes I tried (mushroom polenta and linguine) were all pretty bland. There's also no AC. It may not be a problem depending on the season but when we went, it was up to 90 degrees so it was like a sauna in there. read more

My husband and I ate here three times while staying at the Quinault Lodge for two nights. Dinners were amazing and we loved the ambiance of the historic lodge. Our server was super kind too. The food was delicious though pricey, but the portions were enough for us to share. The first night we had the pot roast meal and the second night we ordered the salmon and a salad to go so that we could sit out on the back lawn picnic tables and enjoy the beautiful weather. The lunch menu looked overpriced, so we opted to share a pizza from the bar instead. So glad we found out about that option. The pizza was big enough for 2-3 people and was hot, fresh, and delicious! Breakfast was admittedly not good and WAY overpriced for what you get. They must be making a fortune from scrambling eggs and overcooking hash brown potatoes! Good for Aramark I guess... Good tip if you are staying at the lodge - walk across the street to the mercantile market for coffee and snacks and save your breakfast money for the vibe of a nice lodge dinner here instead. read more

Our family took a day trip around Olympic National Park and intended on grabbing food somewhere along the way. Good thing we were hungry for some breakfast/brunch type food, because The Roosevelt Room at Lake Quinault Lodge wasn't too far away, and they did it right! It was an overcast and rainy day at the lake, which we got to enjoy from the warmth and dryness of the dining room. We were seated promptly, and our server got our drink orders swiftly. I ordered the biscuits and gravy -- wow! Many places boast their house made biscuits, but they can be hit or miss. The Roosevelt Room's biscuits were flaky, tender, and delicious. We got one to split four ways, and that's when I knew my entree would be the biscuits and gravy. What a presentation! The giant biscuit split in half, stacked high with a sausage patty, scrambled eggs, and microgreens, topped with a delicious sausage gravy. No cheap packet flour gravy here, this was the real deal. You could also tell it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp while the rest of our table's orders were made, because the gravy was hot and flowing -- no film forming at all. Each bite was somehow better than the last, and it was a tremendous amount of food. I really liked the presentation too -- it was clearly a thoughtfully conceived dish, and not the normal grands biscuits with a packet of McCormick gravy you'd expect from many other hotel restaurants. The food combined with the awesome view and unique location are unbeatable, and now I want to stay a couple nights at the lodge for the full experience. I'd say it's a meal fit for a king, but since Franklin D. Roosevelt ate there during his visit in 1937, it's maybe even a meal fit for a president! read more

It was one of those raining-all-day kind of afternoons when we popped into the Roosevelt Room. Food options in this area are very limited so it was really nice to be able to dine at such a beautiful restaurant in the Lodge. The view of Lake Quinault from most of their tables is unbeatable and the restaurant provides a cozy, historical feel to an otherwise damp day. I had the good luck of sitting in the exact spot President FDR sat when he visited Lake Quinault Lodge! All the staff whom we encountered here were helpful and friendly. We ordered quite a bit food, which is the typical American fare, and I'd say their chowder was my favorite- perfectly warm, rich and comforting for an early fall day. The lodge itself is so charming and it would be incredibly relaxing to stay here for a few days to just soak up the incredible views of the forests and lake. read more

Really expected more here. Yes, it's a gorgeous old lodge, and watching the lawn activities while dining was fun. And hummingbirds feeding. The special was 12 clams in garlic broth: all 30 clams were yummy. But I was no longer hungry after all that bread and broth. Then my order of butternut squash ravioli arrived. The presentation was spot on. But the ravs were prepared backward. The pasta was very thick, while the thin layer of squash was flat. Heads up - the low stars are much more about service than food quality. Read till the end for all the dirt. During a recent stay at the lake quinault lodge we dined three times at the Roosevelt room (via to go, thanks to covid). The first thing we had was their veggie pizza and some house salads. The pizza was ok but the middle was basically raw. They weren't supper busy that night so I'm not sure why the rush....but the salads were great and their house-made dressing was super yummy. I love candied walnuts on salad so they got bonus points for that. A few days later we had breakfast. We shared biscuits and gravy and the burrito. The biscuits were home made and delicious and the burrito was huge. We enjoyed them both very much! Their potatoes on the side weren't the best but they weren't the worst either. A day or so later we had another pizza (the colonial bob) and the salads. Here's where it gets bad....it's covid times and the bar is closed. Seating of any kind is closed. We brought a bottle of wine up to the lodge when we ordered dinner (we stayed in the boathouse because of our dog) and asked them to open it for us since our room didn't have a bottle opener and they charged us $10 just to open our bottle! Given the situation I feel like bringing our own bottle and asking them to open it is very reasonable....when I questioned the fee the rude response was "well you can buy one in the gift shop for $20"....again, given the situation we're all dealing with asking to get our bottle opened does not seem unreasonable at all... read more

I'm leaving two stars because of service. Our waitress should have five stars because she was amazing. We've been customers for over 13 years and we haven't been in for a couple due to the pandemic. We were excited to come in today and see the Smoked Salmon BLT on the menu still. It was always our favorite thing to order. When it arrived today it showed up on a weird looking bun and resembled NOTHING of what it used to be. Both in flavor and presentation. Our salmon was flaked onto the "bun" and looked like cat food. Literally no lettuce and only weird bits of tomatoes. Sadly the best part of it was the bacon and the aoli made us gag. Just super disappointing. Bloody Mary's are still great and we have no complaints there. But to wait until lunch opened for a cat food sandwich was highly disappointing. It seemed like the food truck didn't show this week or something. I didn't take a picture today but was able to find one from a bit ago, which I've included here. Please bring back the original Smoked Salmon BLT. Charging the same price for something not even close is deceiving and dishonest. Not all customers are one time visitors. Visiting Lake Quinault for the third time this foggy rainy rain forest day. Jaime our waitress was a delight and her attentiveness unwavering. King Salmon was indeed supreme. The broccolini and fingerling potatoes were the highlight as I gazed across the table. I begged the crackling skin from the plate when my nephew turned his nose to it. My Roasted Duck Breast too was all I hoped for. Crisp skin and rare. Perhaps my favorite protein and it was a very nicely designed dish. Resting atop a bed of bits of squash, pearl onions, and tart cherries. Sans fingerling potatoes. I felt my plate was a bit slight. Now reviewing the menu I see that my meal was indeed shorted the fingerling potato's. That's where star number 5 is. It's missing. I am now a bit miffed that this happened. My wife and sister each ordered the Pot Roast dish. OUTSTANDING. A home style comfort meal. Glad Kristin shared her mashed potatoes. The pan gravy was so rich. A dining room and kitchen that appears to function like it should. Planning to return to explore more items tomorrow night. read more

There's no question that when you work for someone what you do is representative of that company. This is no less true than the Roosevelt Room. We went to dinner after coming from staying at the Lodge at Cresent Lake. While the accommodations were mediocre at best, and the food, while edible could have used a few fine adjustments to be worth what they charge, the dinner at the Roosevelt Room was a mockery to the Lodge at Lake Quinault. We arrived for our reservation, assuming food out in the middle of nowhere was pretty sparse. We were promptly seated, handed our menus within 5 minutes of arrival. Looking through the menu, we made our choices-mushroom hummus, King Salmon, and Pot Roast. We sat for 35 minutes, looking at a dining room that at best was 3/4 full. Our first dish was the hummus , which was kinda good, until my dining partner pointed to a whole clove of garlic. Not roasted, minced, or finely chopped or blended, a whole clove (see photo). We put it on our bread plate, in plain view. Humorous, we thought. Another 15 minutes, the waitress brought out bread, three breadsticks (which we'll come back to). We split one, not wanting to fill up on bread. Another 20-25 minutes, and dinner finally came. The salmon looked good, according to my partner seasoned well, not overcooked. The pot roast? I wish I could say the same-one piece of beef, the size of two soup spoons (see photo). SALTY! Way over salted, the beef, the gravy, veggies, mashed potatoes. And the slice of meat was cut with the grain instead of against, leaving the cut more like wet jerky than a properly served beef. Did I mention the dish was too salty? How long did we wait to get this? I quietly ate my sliver of pot roast, not wanting to make a fuss, eat my meat pay my bill. We were going to share or meals, but didn't want to have both our meals spoiled. The waitress came to check on dinner, she saw everything left, was told it was too salty. She apologized, saying they only had one chef prepping everything. A couple of minutes later I overheard another couple across the room complaining about the saltiness of their meal. When the same waitress went to check on them, they complained about their pot roast. The waitress offered another meal. Hey, what about me? Don't I get another choice of something else? We finished our meal, and the waitress described the dessert options. By this time I was ready to leave. $39 for dry, over salted pot roast too salty to finish and I trust ordering dessert at $10+ a pop? I don't think so. What assurance this chef is going to do dessert ok? They couldn't even get the hummus right and all you gotta do is blend everything! When the waitress returned with the bill, she said we weren't going to be charged for the pot roast. If what she said is true, she was having to take the fall of the chef, Roosevelt Room lost over $100 in revenue (three over-salted meals), the reputation of the restaurant took a hit all because of the chef. Could we blame the Lodge? Maybe but you're just spreading the blame beyond the chef. We could go somewhere else, but where? Eat a big lunch so you can avoid dinner, which was already pricey. Poor value ($38 for two spoonfuls of meat?), poor quality, maybe they think they got you cuz there isn't anywhere else to eat? Shouldn't matter. read more

I honestly really wanted to avoid eating here and wanted to go down the road to The Salmon House, but they were only doing takeout so we opted in for Roosevelt Room. Reservations are required for dinner, but not breakfast or lunch. We came for both dinner and breakfast the next morning because there was really nothing else in the middle of the national park. The line just waiting to be checked in and seated was *painfully* slow. I understand there is a staff shortage everywhere but my goodness, it shouldn't take THAT long to check on the table and bring us over to it. As expected the prices were super inflated, but the good news is that the food was better than I expected, although my expectations going in were low. Dinner: -- The Quinault Clam Chowder was New England style with bacon, potatoes, and celery inside. The flavor was good and it was packed with everything but the clams haha. I recall only getting one piece of clam but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say there were a couple more pieces in there. The bacon flavor was prominent but not overpowering. -- The Caesar Salad was standard and they have a house made dressing but it didn't feel like anything special. It could've used more of a bold and tangy punch. -- The Fish and Chips were surprisingly pretty good. The seasoning on the fish was great and the inside was moist, tender, and flaky. It came with wedge fries which could've been crispier but it wasn't too oily. Also the homemade tartar sauce was really tasty. I'm even slightly embarrassed to say that I started dipping the fries into the tartar sauce haha. Breakfast: Hot chocolate is available although it isn't on the menu. -- Biscuits and Gravy came in a huge portion that I couldn't finish so I'd say this is one thing that is worth the money. The sausage gravy was savory and the soft & fluffy biscuits were perfect for sopping it up. Other than paying $80 for a meal that should've been $30, I think they did fairly well. The good: - Food was available and we were hungry & in a town that didn't have much offering in the department of food on a Sunday night. - They gave large portions. I was legit eating leftovers for days after. - Indoor seating was available if you wanted to be inside to eat-- we opted for taking it to our room. The bad: - Prices were high for dinner-- $24 for fish and chips I think. Like dude! My husband said it wasn't even very good and only ate one of the two pieces. - Not many vegetarian options for adults. Had to order from the kid's menu because the only adult offering was overpriced mushrooms, which I don't eat. - For 1 salad, 1 fish and chips and 3 kid pizzas, we got 8 plastic containers. Apparently the kid meals--even pizza-- come with fries (which were delish) and they gave us three additional giant plastic containers. Had I known, I would've asked for all the sides to be put in one to save the planet a wee bit. Kid's food: Kids menu was decent and large portions. In fact, I ordered off of it as well, even though it says only 12 and under. Salad: $9 mixed green salad to accompany my kid pizza (that totally filled me). Salad was delish. This place needs some tweaks! It's missing the mark. Meal 1 Dinner: There is an awesome room with many (over 20?) tables in the front room overlooking the water. There's also a back room separated by a long wide hallway from the front room. They sat us at the end of the hallway at a table that literally looked out at the hallway. No tablecloth and our utensils stuck to the table. The waitress was awesome though! She was nice and was also our dinner waitress the next night (she did an excellent job). They were obviously understaffed but she really made things happen. I ate the wild salmon that was supposed too actually be wild which is great. It was well prepared with a nice flavor. Maybe add some more potatoes or something? Meal 2 Breakfast: This meal was a total nightmare and we actually drove 35 mins away the next day to eat breakfast some place else. Where? Kalaloch Lodge since it isn't run by Aramark. Anyway, I digress. The seating person placed us in the front room (group of 5 and this is important to remember for the next dinner). We had a great view and our waiter was also nice and tried. He was totally overwhelmed by the number of things (they are understaffed) to do that we actually didn't get our food for over 1 hr 20 mins. While we waited, I said that I really needed some water to drink. I asked 2 different people during that 1h20m for water for the table and never got it. After we received our food, I waited for another 10 mins before getting up and walking around to look for someone. I couldn't find anyone. I have no idea what was going on. I finally found the guy that sat us and told him that we got our food and we had to have some water. He brought some over. The food: I ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. The presentation was spot on and the taste was good too. I of course deconstructed the meal and was very disappointed to see that I actually only had about 2-3 tablespoons of gravy. There was 1/2 a biscuit at the bottom topped by egg then the other 1/2 of the biscuit. The gravy was very thick so it stuck to the "building" and looked like it was a lot more than it really was. Come on guys, gravy has to be the absolute cheapest thing you can make in the kitchen. We're looking at flour, water, and butter or some replacement. Everyone else got pancakes, took 1 bite and stopped. The pancakes ended up being extremely greasy and uneatable. The waiter took all of the uneaten food and brought back the checks. He didn't bother to ask, did you like it? Can I box it? Is there something wrong with it? It was obvious that 4 out of 5 people didn't eat any of their food. At about $130 for breakfast which is a total rip off, why doesn't anyone care? This place is outrageous. Really, no one cares! Front desk Complaint: I went to the front desk and asked for a manger, any manager. The 2 front desk ladies were very nice. This is the best, the general manager and kitchen manager that were supposed to be on-site were no where to be found and not answering their phones. Awesome! That's the typical Aramark culture! Stick with managing school cafeterias. This is out of your league. The front desk person took notes about my experience, my name, phone number, e-mail, and that I'd be staying on the property for 2 more days. Any guess on if anyone every contacted me? Nope! I still haven't been contacted. Again, they don't care! This is the kind of place that I would come in and fire every manager at every level. Meal 3 Dinner: The young lady at the seating desk walked us back to the sole table in the hallway. I said look, I sat there yesterday and don't want to sit in the hallway again. There were only 2-3 tables taken in the main room and I wanted to sit in there. She said that the main room is full. I said, what? I made reservations a month ago and 99% of the tables are empty! She said, no you aren't sitting in there. I asked why? She said that she won't sit us in there because we have 5 people and she has to keep the tables open for walk-ups. I said that we sat in there as a group of 5 this morning. The 5th person is just a little kid. She flat out said no. How about if you cancel my reservation then I'm a walk-up? What's the point of making reservations? She was by far the rudest restaurant person I think I've ever encountered. Even the older lady that was with us was like what is going on, what is wrong with her? We almost walked out but where were we going to eat? Hint- We didn't know it but there's another restaurant a mile or so further to the east. I told her that I wasn't sitting in the hallway. She finally let us sit in the back room. Our waitress was great and my pot roast was outstanding. If you want people to eat the shortbread, then stop pointing out that it's drizzled with olive oil. This is easily the best lunch option in the area. Beautiful view out onto lake and lawn with kids and dogs and lawn games. I had a smoked salmon BLT that was quite good with a side salad, while my wife had a cheeseburger on a GF bun that was good as well. Had a glass of Lake Quinault red blend and my wife a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Service was excellent. Perhaps a little pricey, but if you are staying at the Lodge or Rainforest Resort as we were, it's well worth paying a bit more just to remain in Quinault, surrounded by all of its natural beauty. read more

Wait time we thought went fast but when our buzzer went of we went to Dakota and he handed us 1 meal and said he for got to put in the other. We looked at the meal and it was a burger not chicken or salmon! Took it back and came back with both meals but this time the chicken had BBQ sauce and both meals had potato wedges not chips! Delicious meal ! I was very impressed with our meals and wasn't sure what to expect. I had the duck breast and my husband had the mushroom polenta. The duck was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the balsamic vinegar jus along with the dried cherries. He really enjoyed his dish as well. We made it just in time for brunch before they close the dining room. The view from the restaurant is WOW with the low fog clinking to the mountain across the lake. Service is good. And our food arrived promptly and actually very tasty. Yes, you should try to dine here if your schedule works out. You can't beat the view. We strolled around the lake afterward. read more

Four instead of five stars only because the menu is extremely small. Maybe five things on it? Don't remember. Adorable lodge with a great view from this restaurant! Food was way overpriced. I understand there are not many options in this area but the other options are better. We had dinner and breakfast here our first night in town. We ordered the fish & chips ($34) as well as the butternut squash raviolis ($34) with a cup of garbanzo lentil soup. The fish was cooked well and tasty. It came with about 10 French fries. The butternut squash raviolis were sickening sweet even with the salty bits of pancetta. It was not a well balanced dish which made it hard to eat. The soup tasted like a mild flavored chili. In the morning we had an order of sausage biscuits & gravy and 2 eggs ($6) with breakfast potatoes ($6.5). The biscuits were overcooked and on the hard side. It was assembled like a tower with a biscuit on the bottom covered with eggs, sausage, and gravy topped with another biscuit more gravy and micro greens. The flavors were good but not worth $21. The breakfast potatoes were unseasoned and clearly originally frozen. I expect more for the price. The view IS amazing however you can't see it after the sun sets but we did enjoy it at breakfast. Go to the Internet Cafe down the road for breakfast and anywhere else for dinner (Dino's or Salmon House). Jessica our server however was lovely. read more

The dining room is still closed, but they do offering food for takeout to your room or the outside patio to eat. We missed the dinner last night since they stopped taking orders at 9pm. They open early for breakfast with a small selection to order from. I ordered a couple breakfast burritos and a couple sets of pancakes with bacon for my kids. The breakfast burritos were mixed well so you get a nice balance of eggs, potatoes, cheese and meat in each bite. Pancakes and bacons was really good; bacon was thick and nice and crispy. They have Starbucks coffee. read more

We went to the Roosevelt Room for breakfast during our stay at the Lake Quinault Lodge. We sat at one of the many tables with a view of the lake which was a great way to start the morning. The menu is a bit pricey, but that was to be expected for any National Park lodge restaurant. We ordered the Quinault Scramble and the Smoked Salmon Hash (~$25 each) and both were delicious! I wish I had taken a photo before eating it all! Presentation was nice, portions were a good size, flavors were excellent, and we were happy to have a delicious veggie-forward meal after a few days of picnic lunches and fried options in the park. read more

Had a great lunch here at the lake quinault lodge. Got a mixed green salad and added salmon on top and the salmon was amazing. I had to eat every last piece of it. There wasn't quite enough dressing with the salad. The view was nice overlooking the lake from the lodge. read more
