The fry-bread definitely deserves its due, it is fluffy and yummy. But everything else was tasteless. We stopped by Longhouse Cafe right when they opened at 11am for lunch after reading several positive reviews. Although it's a sit down restaurant, service is pretty minimal. To start, we ordered the salmon dip with fried bread. The dip is mostly cream cheese, with very little noticeable salmon, you can barely see any pink in it. For our mains, we followed the server's suggestion and order the deep fried salmon and three little Indian plate (3 tacos on fried bread). The fried salmon nuggets are the highlight of the meal and tasted freshly made. The fries on the other hand is standard freezer fries. The cold slaw tasted as though it had been prepared a few days earlier, the cranberries have become so soft and soggy from sitting in the dressing. The taco plate was also disappointing. The fried breads were already cold when they arrived and tasted greasy, which is surprising considering the restaurant just opened. Each taco only has a spoonful of room temperature fillings. Stopped here with a party of four while we were doing the Twilight Tour, and it was such a unique and interesting experience. Super friendly and attentive waitress. I loved the art, atmosphere, and the cultural touches throughout the restaurant. We ordered the fry bread appetizer, fried salmon bites, a burger, and two kids' grilled cheese meals. Overall, the food was really good, though I personally felt it could have used a bit more seasoning. The fry bread itself is very plain, so I definitely recommend adding butter and jelly it makes a big difference. I would stop here again and would definitely recommend checking it out! read more

Good eating options are extremely limited in Forks, WA. We wanted to try Longhouse for lunch due to the reviews and again, the very few options. We came in right at opening at 11 am. It is a sit down restaurant but service was a bit light. We ordered the salmon dip, which is a 3/5. It comes with fry bread, but the dip is mostly mayo and doesn't have much salmon and you can tell from the texture. We got the deep fried salmon, which was a 3.5/5 for me. The fries are your standard crinkle cut frozen fries and the coleslaw is premade and not good. The salmon itself was advertised as salmon from the local Hoh River. The fish was breaded and fried and was the only freshly made item we had. We also tried the 3 Little Indians Plate which was recommended. Unfortunately, this was a huge miss for us at a 2/5. All of the fry bread was cold (the restaurant just opened?!) and the toppings on the fry bread were also all cold. Loved this place. Kids too. We realize Indian fried bread isn't going to be the most healthy option, served with everything, but they do it really well here and it 100% hits the spot on vacation when tired and hungry. My daughter is a picky eater and she finished all of her food and then some. Service was outstanding and the venue was very clean and chill. We stumbled on this because at the time of our visit, the Yelp status for this restaurant was CLOSED. Maybe that was the old location, or another "branch" location. 5/15/26: fantastic fry bread! Stopped in around 2:30 after doing some hiking and boy, did this place hit the spot. It wasn't too crowded and the young woman who helped us was extremely friendly. The restaurant is pretty large with some cool decor. We were lucky enough to be seated by the heater, which worked out well because it was rainy and a bit chilly out. :-) The fry bread was thick, airy, and absolutely some of the best I have ever had. The lemonade was huckleberry (I think) and it was delicious. Cold & tart, with just enough sweetness. Yeah, it was cold outside but the lemonade sounded so good we didn't want to pass it up. My fam who ordered the clam chowder devoured it. They also ordered the smoked salmon dip and let me say, I do NOT like seafood of any kind, but my sister said it was not overly fishy -- and she was spot on. Even I enjoyed it. The chili cheese fries were good. We could not pass up the rez apple sauté for desert, especially when the table next to us had it delivered to their table first. Darn good eats! How does this place have any positive reviews? First, it took at least 15 minutes to get water and at least another 10 for us to even order. I'll give some leeway for maybe someone called in sick. However, the food was pathetic. I have had better clam chowder out of a can, and the salmon dip wasn't any better. Whenever you're out in the middle of nowhere you're praying to find anything that is seasoned, iykyk. Thank goodness for the longhouse cafe. My kids got the grilled cheese fry bread (it was enough to share for two small kids), I got the chicken Indian taco/fry bread, and my husband got the three mini Indian tacos/fry bread. We were passing through Forks on a weeknight and decided to grab dinner there before heading towards the coast where things might be closed. We picked The Longhouse Cafe because it was the highest rated on Google and open until 8 pm. Note that restrooms are located in a trailer outside of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is small and was bustling while we were there, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was friendly but extremely slow. I had the clam chowder with fry bread and my bf had the halibut nuggets with fries. I really enjoyed the soup. It was my first time having fry bread and it's kind of like an unsweetened funnel cake or zeppole dough. Recommend for the food but not if you're in a rush. read more

I can't say enough about how awesome both the food and the hospitality was at this restaurant. The smoked salmon dip was to die for. I literally could eat that everyday and never get sick of it. I want to give a special shout out to Melinda James, wonderful cheerful spirit who welcomed us at the beginning of the day with fresh brewed coffee, then we enjoyed a wonderful clam chowder and halibut for lunch. This place can be hard to miss from the highway. It's in the parking lot of the Dew Drop Motel next to the Tesla charging station. We stayed in Forks for two nights and this was hands down one of the best dining options. We tried the clam chowder, birria taco (in frybread), and had a caramel apple frybread dessert. Food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. Really cool indigenous design and a pow wow video was playing when we came in. Our server was friendly. There's indoor seating and some outdoor high top tables that I saw some patrons eating at with their dog in tow. Highly recommend stopping in while in the area! read more

His daughter's names are painted on the canoe, nieces' & nephews' on the paddles, and his dad's voice singing over the audio system while footage of the Muckleshoot Canoe Journey played onscreen. Nugget style cut of the fish "Rez Dogs" - for the kids. Hot dogs wrapped in fry bread, plus cheddar oozing in with the dogs too. I was traveling through the Olympic peninsula last week for my birthday. My boyfriend and I saw the fry bread sign from the road but it was unfortunately too late and they were closed. We were sad because we didn't plan to come back to forks on our route as it would have been back tracking for us from our campsite, about 45 min away. We woke up the next morning and said you know what.. it's my bday let's just go back.. and I'm so glad we did! Everything is a 10/10. The frybread is pillowy soft but has that perfect crunch. The owner is so nice and chatted with all the patrons at the tables. I felt like I was eating at my uncles house. The servers were young, maybe high school kids or just graduated but they were so nice and sweet as well and kept checking on us and apologizing for the wait. the wait for our food took a long time but it was worth the wait! it's a small place with few workers and it didn't bother me at all. Had a nice lunch at the Longhouse. I thought it would take forever to sit , order and eat as I only saw one person up front and another slinging food in the back. And being Forks WA was not expecting much. To my surprise we got our menus promptly, service was spot on for taking our order to bringing the food out. We were hungry!
